Other Winix’s Air Purifier Reviews:

Winix C610 Price

Winix is always one of the best air purifier brands from Breathe Quality, offering a complete lineup that ranges from entry-level models to premium whole-home units costing over $1,000.

The Winix C610 comes from a company that, despite shifting its strategy to compete more aggressively in the low- to mid-range market, has still managed to maintain a strong reputation near the top of the industry.

At $199, the Winix C610 faces a stiff competition with lots of good contenders. Both the Levoit Core 400S and Blue Pure 311i Max are so good that we can’t stop recommending them enough. On top of that, popular South Korean best-sellers like the Coway AP-1512HH and the Coway Airmega 200M have also become more affordable over time, making the competition even tougher.

Even within the Winix lineup, the newer Winix T810 and Winix T830 are strong alternatives worth considering. In addition, the Winix 5510, Winix 5520, and Winix 5530 have formed a compelling new budget trio for the brand.

Since all of these models compete within a similar price range, we understand that choosing the Winix C610 over the others is not an easy decision unless you specifically prefer its tower-style design or feature set. With that in mind, let’s dive deeper into the review.

Winix C610 Design and Size

Since the Winix A230, it has been clear that Winix is moving toward tower-style 360° air purifiers for several practical reasons: they are easier to mass-produce, simpler for users to replace filters, and more space-efficient thanks to their smaller footprint. For a South Korean brand, design is one of the most important factors for an appliance.

The Winix C610 retains the same tower-style housing and plastic construction as its predecessor, but it is noticeably larger in order to compete more effectively in the mid-range segment. Measuring 18.54 inches tall and 10.4 inches in diameter, this is not an air purifier designed for tabletop use. Honestly, at this price range, most users are likely looking for a floor-standing unit with stronger performance anyway.

If you’re looking for the tower air purifier in clean white, with column-like silhouette for the air intake grills, you’re buying the correct Winix C610. We heard of another version in the name of the Winix C710, but with the old-style perforated grills.

The Winix C610 runs the simple bottom-to-top airflow system concept, and its top control panel is in the very similar spot like a Blueair purifier, for example the Blue Pure 511i Max. Honestly it is the most bland design we have seen from a mainstream air purifier.

At just 8.35 lbs, the Winix C610 is surprisingly lightweight for its size. These days, more and more air purifiers are adopting larger tower-style designs while still managing to keep the overall weight impressively low.

Winix C610 Filters

We check the performance of one air purifiers based on its air filters’ quality and material, as well as the number of air filter types. For the Winix C610, we have the signature 4-stage air cleaning system.

  1. Pre-filter – The polluted air must pass through a mesh pre-filter. This pre-filter will capture the large objects of contaminants, such as pet hair and even some kinds of pet dander and skin. It is washable.
  2. True HEPA filter – The True HEPA Filter that captures 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and fungi particles.
  3. Activated Carbon filter – The air filter can adsorb household odors from cooking, pets, and smoke and reduce VOCs.
  4. Winix PlasmaWave – This technology is somehow an ionizer, which can further reduce the amount of pollutants. Can be switched on/off.

At this point, we believe our readers are already familiar with Winix air purification technology, which combines a high-quality True HEPA filter with the company’s signature PlasmaWave technology. Together, these systems help improve filtration efficiency and support the advertised performance against airborne pollutants.

The Winix C610 follows the same filtration approach, and its performance consistently ranks among the best in its class. As shown in our dedicated test for this price range using a 200-square-foot room over 1 hour, similar Winix air purifiers performed exceptionally well, with all of them capturing 99.99% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns.

These results are nearly perfect and even outperform competitors like the GermGuardian AC5900 and the Coway Airmega 160 at a similar price point.

We will have the new filter Z for the Winix C610 and Winix C710, and you need to replace the filter annually. The filter cost is very good at $44, making the Winix C610 a high-efficient air purifier to use for a long time.

Winix C610 Room Coverage

Winix is widely regarded as one of the best air purifier brands partly because it consistently submits its products for testing and verification by the AHAM. We consider this a strong commitment to providing transparent and trustworthy performance ratings for customers.

The Winix C610 is recommended for rooms up to 384 square feet based on its verified performance ratings.

The ACH of the Winix C610 is 5X. The air purifier can fully clean its AHAM-verified room size approximately every 12 minutes.

The CADR of the Winix C610 is 252 Dust/ 248 Smoke/ 262 Pollen (cfm). Again, we have a very competitive Winix air purifier for the price.

Winix C610 Sound

The Winix C610 packs such a strong fan power, but its noise level is among the quietest ones possible. At only 22 decibels (dB), the air purifier is as quiet as whisper, and you can run the air purifier at this mode for bedtime.

The maximum noise level of the Winix C610 is just 58 decibels, which is decent for its fan power. We recommend to keep your air purifier running on Auto mode, to guarantee the lowest noise level.

Winix C610 Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.

The Winix C610 is Energy Star certified, and it earns an excellent performance-per-watt rating thanks to its low power consumption of just 40 watts. The newer generation of Winix air purifiers may currently offer some of the best air purifiers on the market, and we only hope they remain widely available instead of quickly going out of stock.

The estimated operating cost for the Winix C610 is only around $19.72 per year when used for at least 8 hours per day.

Winix C610 Additional Features

At this point, nearly every modern Winix air purifier can connect to the Winix Smart app through Wi-Fi, allowing users to control the device remotely with a solid range of features and clear scheduling tools. You can also monitor the filter life percentage and receive alerts when it is time to replace the filter.

The Winix C610 also includes an Auto mode, supported by both dust and odor sensors for monitoring indoor air quality. Winix still relies on its older infrared sensor technology, but in practice, the system works well enough to make everyday use much more convenient.

Finally, we have a Child lock setting, and a light sensor to activate the Night mode, which is good.
