Winix T830 Air Purifier: Trusted Review & Specs

Winix has done it again with its somewhat confusing naming strategy. Just as we previously saw with models like the Winix 5300-2, Winix 5500-2, and Winix P300, the company now offers the Winix T830 as what is essentially a different color variant of the Winix T810.

We know this because we tested both air purifiers side by side, and the main purpose of this Winix T830 review is to confirm what many Winix users likely already suspected.

Winix T830 ranks A+ in our air purifier ranking list. We give the biggest and most thorough database of air purifier reviews in the world.

In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:

  • We provide honest reviews (both pros and cons) so that everyone can make the best decisions.
  • We do not (and never will) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.

Winix is a South Korean home appliance brand with over 50 years of manufacturing experience, best known in the US market for its air purifiers. The company built its reputation on dependable, no-frills filtration workhorses – models like the Winix 5520 became household staples and long-running bestsellers precisely because they delivered strong CADR figures at accessible price points. Let’s go with the Winix T830 review.

Other Winix’s Air Purifier Reviews:

Winix T830 Price

The Winix T830 is a different color option of the Winix T810, in the same way we find the Winix AM80 as the black version of the famous Winix AM90, or the current trio of Winix 5510, Winix 5520 and Winix 5530.

The pricing is very much in line with the current Winix lineup, with the Winix T830 typically selling for around $199. Meanwhile, the Winix T810 has recently seen price reductions, leading us to believe that Winix may be clearing out its remaining inventory. We have also heard rumors that the Winix T830 could become the only version that remains in production going forward.

You can also consider the Winix C610 at this price point, though there is always the possibility that all three models could eventually go out of stock. That has become something of a tradition with Winix, as the company frequently refreshes its lineup and retires models with little notice. Unfortunately, there is not much consumers can do except buy the model they prefer while it is still available.

The Winix T830 is competing against the Levoit Core 400S and Blue Pure 311i Max, but as you can see its launching price is cheaper. Against the similar-price units like the Honeywell HPA830 and GermGuardian AC5900, the Winix T830 is far better.

Winix T830 Design and Size

The Winix T830 is easily mistaken for the Winix T810, especially by anyone who is not a dedicated air purifier enthusiast. Yes, when placed side by side, you can clearly see that the two models use different color schemes, but realistically, how many ordinary consumers are going to spend time figuring that out?

So, we have another air purifier that take bottom-to-top cylindrical design from the Winix A230 (and its variant model A231). If we don’t buy both of them blindly, you may only have one review for the T810, and this Winix T830 isn’t worth to research.

So we will repeat the whole process: for the dimensions, the Winix T830 is relatively tall at 11.3 × 11.3 × 20.4 inches. It only weighs 10.2 lbs, and you can use the handle to bring it anywhere in your home.

The only thing you may need to read the whole Winix T830 review is its new color. The Winix T810 has white body with silver accent stripes, while the Winix T830 has blue accent stripes.

Winix T830 Filters

We check the performance of one air purifiers based on its air filters’ quality and material, as well as the number of air filter types. The Winix T830 runs the same signature 4-stage air cleaning system as other Winix air purifiers.

  1. Pre-filter – The polluted air must pass through a mesh pre-filter. This pre-filter will capture the large objects of contaminants, such as pet hair and even some kinds of pet dander and skin. It is washable.
  2. True HEPA filter – The True HEPA Filter that captures 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and fungi particles.
  3. Activated Carbon filter – The air filter can adsorb household odors from cooking, pets, and smoke and reduce VOCs.
  4. Winix PlasmaWave – This technology is somehow an ionizer, which can further reduce the amount of pollutants. Can be switched on/off.

While the core of a Winix air purifier remains the same as its predecessor, the Winix T830 is using a new 360° all-in-one filter design. Starting from the Winix A230, we can think it is the new future of Winix air purifiers.

For the ressult, the Winix T810 and Winix T830 share the same result as the new trio Winix 5510, Winix 5520 and Winix 5530, under the same conditions. It is better than some competitors like the GermGuardian AC5900 and the Coway Airmega 160, though the difference isn’t large.
