The Blueair ComfortPure T20i feels about as great as a 3-in-1 air purifier should with its oscillating base and capable HEPASilent filtration system. Purification performance doesn’t disappoint, as it keeps up with the best performers in its price range. Let’s check the Blueair ComfortPure T20i review to see whether it’s enough to keep you away from pricier Dyson models.
Blueair ComfortPure T20i ranks A- in our air purifier ranking list. We give the biggest and most thorough database of air purifier reviews in the world.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We provide honest reviews (both pros and cons) so that everyone can make the best decisions.
- We do not (and never will) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
Sections
- HEPASilent is high performance, and silent

- 3-year warranty
- Overall low performance
Blueair shows that it can make 3-in-1 air purifiers better than both Dyson and Shark, even though the company has only been producing these hybrid devices for two years. You want a proof, let’s read this Blueair ComfortPure T20i review.
Other Blueair’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Blueair ComfortPure T20i Price
If it wasn’t obvious at this point, 3-in-1 air purifiers aren’t going anywhere, even if they are still largely considered “niche.” North America notwithstanding, the air purifiers aren’t just those from Dyson but also comes from Blueair.
Last year’s original Blueair ComfortPure T10i proved that you can find a 3-in-1 air purifier with a Dyson-like experience, along with simply offering a better overall air quality experience. Even so, the performance is below average for a $499 air purifier, and that’s why we have the Blueair ComfortPure T20i so soon, to see if the company has managed to continue evolving in an ever-changing segment of the market.
The Blueair ComfortPure T20i, for that reason, is more expensive at $599, meaning it is nearly the same price as the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1. For that price, customers may be drawn toward Dyson air purifiers because of their strong brand recognition, even though Blueair is currently the number-one air purifier brand in the market.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Design and Size
Something else that this oscillating base allows for is the ability to have the Blueair ComfortPure T20i sweep a full 350 degrees. This can present some noise at higher rotation speeds, but we haven’t come across those issues at moderate settings and the unit still performs great. Even with the height, it feels more like a premium tower fan as opposed to being a dedicated space heater when running in cooling mode.
We mention this first because we want to ensure that the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is truly on par with the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1. Buying a 3-in-1 device that isn’t Dyson, you must wonder how the Blueair design work. It is pretty good, like how the original Blueair ComfortPure T10i did.
The Blueair ComfortPure T20i that we’ve been using is the Gray variant, complete with the matte soft-touch finish that has become a hallmark of the ComfortPure line. There’s a nice contrasting accent band that wraps the upper portion of the cylindrical body, in the same way we can find from the previous T10i.
Along with the oscillating base, there’s one more thing that we absolutely love about the Blueair ComfortPure T20i. There’s an actual illuminated touch panel built directly into the top surface of the unit. It is definitely a modern air purifier.
However, people who don’t like the design of the T10i will be disappointed. The Blueair ComfortPure T20i is simply the bigger T10i, at 27.4 inches in height and diameter in 13.6 inches. It is certainly the tallest tower air purifier in the current Blueair lineup.
The Blueair ComfortPure T20i is also heavier at 22.6 pounds, and we appreciate how Blueair moved the handles from the back to both sides, for better handling.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Filters
We check the performance of one air purifiers based on its air filters’ quality and material, as well as the number of air filter types in the testing device. Being a hybrid air purifier, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i has a 3-stage air cleaning system.
- Pre-filter – A simple mesh pre-filter to catch large particles from the air.
- Particle filter – Instead of using a True HEPA filter, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i runs a polypropylene fiber filter to help capture 99.97% of all allergens as small as 0.3 microns like dust, dust mites, pet dander, pollen and fungi (HEPASilent technology).
- Activated carbon filter – Traps household odors from pets, cooking and smoking.
Now for the star of the show, the HEPASilent filtration system. Simply put, this is the best filter technology that we’ve encountered in a 3-in-1 purifier. You’ll also find electrostatic and mechanical filtration working in tandem, resulting in a thorough and independently verified air-cleaning experience.
Naturally, one of the first questions you’ll likely have has to do with whether the oscillation actually helps with coverage. Thanks to Blueair’s implementation of the TripleFlow three-outlet design, you can distribute purified air across a wide area, even in large rooms.
We’re talking about a $599 air purifier, so it must undergo a more demanding test: a 400-square-foot enclosed space for one hour. And the Blueair ComfortPure T20i blow both the previous Blueair ComfortPure T10i and Dyson HP02 out of the water, as it can capture 98.58% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. However, the performance is lower than the Airmega 250 and AeraMax SE.
However, the Blueair ComfortPure T10i’s actual performance in its price range is… horrible. As you can see, it can only capture 87.96% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in a closed space, for 1 hour. The Blueair ComfortPure T20i does a much better job, though it is still behind the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify Pro DH5i, Airmega 250 and AeraMax SE – all of them are cheaper than the ComfortPure T20i.

One thing that we love from Blueair: simple and low-budget filter. The Blueair ComfortPure T20i has a $89 filter, and you need to replace after 9 months. At this price range, such cost is minimal.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Room Coverage
Just like all other Blueair devices, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is verified by the AHAM, so its room coverage is also what Breathe Quality would recommend for optimal performance: 352 square feet.
The ACH of the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is 5X. Being certified by AHAM, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i exchange air every 12 minutes, under the suggested room coverage.
The CADR of the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is 238 Dust/ 227 Smoke/ 252 Pollen (cfm). It is still not as capable as a $299 Blue Signature SP3i, but the performance is perhaps the best among 3-in-1 devices.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Sound
Blueair has long made powerful air purifiers with low noise levels, so it’s no surprise that the Blueair ComfortPure T20i produces just 25 dB on its lowest setting. It performs as well as the Blueair ComfortPure T10i despite its higher fan power.
However, the noise level of the Blueair ComfortPure T20i can go up to 52 decibels on high speed. It is equivalent to a refrigerator humming, which is noticeable when you’re sleeping near the air purifier.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” An air purifier is meant to run for a long time to be efficient, that’s why many air purifier brands consider the energy-saving standard, mostly in the rate of Energy Star, is one important selling point.
To achieve better performance, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i asks for more power, but the power factor is even better than the Blueair ComfortPure T10i. Its power wattage is only 34 watts, and the heating power is 1500 watts, meaning more instant heating than the predecessor.
If you run the Blueair ComfortPure T20i for 8 hours per day, you need to spend $15 annually, but that’s only for air purifier part.

Blueair ComfortPure T20i Additional Features
Bringing us back to the Dyson comparison, I was really hoping to see dedicated VOC and formaldehyde sensing implemented into a $600 purifier. The Blueair ComfortPure T20i only equips with a PM2.5 sensor, but the Auto mode is available, so the air purifier can still work on its own.
Harkening back to Blueair’s excellent work with the app integration, the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is simply a modern air purifier. You can make a schedule for your air purifier, check its filter life, or just remotely control it from far. Don’t want to download more apps, then just use the remote control out of the box.
Other than that, we have everything back from the ComfortPure T10i: Child lock function, timer, and a LED indicator for filter replacement.

We would say the Blueair ComfortPure T20i is the best 3-in-1 air purifier that you could buy at the moment. It doesn’t have such poor performance from the ComfortPure T10i, and the power consumption is amazing.
