Blue Pure 211 Design and Size
The Blue Pure 211 ushered in a new design direction for the company and its DNA runs strong within the Blue Pure 121. Thanks to a slightly shorter size, with only 20 inches in height (the Blue Pure 121 is 28 inches), this Blue Pure 211’s footprint is fractionally smaller and it is lighter but beyond that, changes appear slight.
Cover this Blue Pure 211 from back to front is a still a big fabric pre-filter with different colors (black, blue, yellow, gray and pink). Just like any member in the Blue family, there is no difference in price for each color selection.
This air purifier uses a similar design concept like most of the compact air purifiers at the moment, with a 360 Degree air intake to maximize the efficiency of the fan power. The air outlet will be found on top of the Blue Pure 211. With this design, this Blue Pure 211 is much more resembling the Levoit LV-H133.
All air purifiers under Blue family are really ease of use. You will only need one simple button to control this air purifier, right from the front of the Blue Pure 211.
Blue Pure 211 is an extremely lightweight air purifier. There is only 12.5 lbs for the item, and compared with others in the same low-range like Honeywell HPA300 or Blueair Classic 203 Slim (both with 24 lbs), the Blue Pure 211 is easy to move around your home.
The size of Blue Pure 411 is only 16.7 inches in height and 3.4 lbs in weight. This air purifier is the most lightweight air purifier at the moment, compared with other lightweight air purifiers like Levoit LV-H132 – 6 lbs and Honeywell HPA060 – 6.4 lbs.

Blue Pure 211 Filters
As the most important criteria to decide one air purifier’s power, we check the performance rating due to the materials of the filters and air filter types are used. With our Blue Pure 211+, we will have a simple 3-stage air purification as below.
- Pre-filter – The fabric pre-filter of Blue Pure 211 is outside the air purifier and can catch the large particles. This pre-filter is washable or vacuumable.
- Particle filter – Instead of using a True HEPA filter, Blue Pure 211 uses a polypropylene fibers filter to help capture 99% of all allergens like dust, dust mites, pet dander, pollen and fungi (HEPA technology).
- Activated Carbon Filter – The Activated Carbon filter is added inside the Particle filter and effective against smoke, odors, gases and VOCs.
Without a True HEPA filter is a disadvantage to Blue Pure 211, especially when the market becomes increasingly saturated with the certified HEPA filter. However, the Blue Pure 211 is still powerful with an unique Particle Filter with HEPASilent technology, to combine both mechanical and electrostatic filtration at one. This technology enables the Blue Pure 211 to match the performance rating from any HEPA air purifiers.
Still, the polypropylene fibers from this air purifier are free of chemicals and naturally anti-bacterial. Also, not like the cheap air purifier, this Particle filter is recyclable as plastic.
Given that this Blue Pure 211 is under the low-range segment, I put it in a great tests with the perfect candidates for the price, the Coway AP-1512HH and Honeywell HPA300. This test is difficult for any air purifiers around $200, as both of these aforementioned air purifiers are the best air purifiers 2019. The test conditions are a room of 200 square feet and full run in one hour. It is amazing (but not surprise) that the Blue Pure 211 match the power of Honeywell HPA300 with the highest efficiency of 99.95% for any as small as 0.3 microns particles. The Coway AP-1512HH, though with lower ACH/CADR rating, has the same efficiency of 99.95%.
However, the filter cost from this air purifier is a huge jump from the smaller Blue Pure 411, with a total cost of $59. With same performance, the filter cost of Coway AP-1512HH is only $45, and will last longer than the durability of 6 months like Blue Pure 211.

Blue Pure 211 Room Coverage
Blue Pure 211 is really powerful for its size, and can cover up to 540 square feet with no problem. This room coverage is indeed the same with the flagship of Levoit brand – the Levoit LV-H133, which costs more than $100.
The ACH of Blue Pure 211 is a massive 5X rating. As a well-known brand for making high quality German-engineered fan, it’s not surprise that all of Blueair’s products will have high air changes per hour rating, which results in the Blue Pure 211 clean your room every 12 minutes.
The CADR of Blue Pure 211 is 350 Dust/ 350 Smoke/ 350 Pollen (cfm). This CADR rating is really powerful, as it can surpass even the high fan power like Honeywell HPA300. This describes clearly how fast this Blue Pure 211 can clean your room.

Blue Pure 211 Sound
Just like the name implied, HEPASilent technology helps reduce the noise level significantly from all Blueair air purifier. That’s why Blueair can achieve such noise level even with a huge and powerful fan. In the case of Blue Pure 211, with a more powerful fan than even the Honeywell HPA300, the result of its noise level is truly impressive.
We will have a common noise level from 31 to 56 decibels (db) within this 3-fan speed air purifier. 31 decibels is only half the noise level of the library, for your information. Even at the highest setting, the noise level of 56 decibels is still acceptable, as it is measured as the normal conservation at home, which is easily to be ignored. The Levoit LV-H133 is a lot quieter than Blue Pure 211, but with a weaker fan performance, too. That’s why with so little noise, I am happy with my Blue Pure 211, especially when this could be the air purifier with the best fan power for the price.

Blue Pure 211 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” An air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be efficient. Therefore power consumption is always one important criteria when you decide to buy one air purifier.
And the Blue family could be the energy-saver of this company, with Blue Pure 211 only run at 30 watts to 60 watts for energy consumption. For a powerful fan air purifier like Blue Pure 211, the energy consumption is only half of the Honeywell HPA300. If you want a more energy-saving device, you need to check Coway AP-1512HH and Blueair Sense+ immediately. These two are the best air purifiers in low-range at the moment.
An investment in a Blue Pure 211 results in about $11 to $21 annually.

Should I buy Blue Pure 211?
Yes, this is the air purifier with the most powerful fan, even surpasses the strong Honeywell HPA300.
- If you have serious allergies or asthma to airborne pollutants: the Blue Pure 211 is the best thing you can get for the price, similar to the Coway AP-1512HH, Winix WAC9500 and Honeywell HPA300.
- If you want a better performance, or better fan power to clean your room faster: this is the air purifier with the most powerful fan for the price.
- If you need an air purifier with a better room coverage: you can choose the Alen Paralda or Alen T500 with manufacturer’s suggested room size of 500 square feet. The Oransi Finn can also clean a room of 400 square feet, too. And the AeraMax 300 can clean a room of up to 600 square feet.
- If you need a budget version of this air purifier: the Blueair Classic 203 is a great option to buy, but I suggest you to look for the trio Winix 5300-2, Winix 5500-2 and Winix C535 instead. These air purifiers have the better fan power, as well as a good Smart Sensor to use.
- If you need a more silent air purifier: the Blue Pure 211 is really silent and you don’t need to look for others.
- If you care about the annual filter cost and energy cost: the Blue Pure 211 is one of the most saving air purifiers you can get.
- If you love the additional features: the Coway AP-1512HH, Winix HR950, and Winix WAC9500 are the best options with Smart Sensor. If you want the Wifi connectivity function, you had better pick one in these Honeywell HPA250B, Blueair Sense+ and GermGuardian CDAP5500BCA.
