Airthereal also starts the new lineup with this Airthereal AGH550, called ‘Glory Days’. Now the ‘Pure Morning’ started with the famous Airthereal APH260 is just the past, and we can expect more models of this new lineup in a near future.

The Airthereal AGH550 certainly brings many new strength for the users, and it fixes most of the weaknesses from its predecessors, like the high power consumption or the difficulty in installing air filters. This air purifier has something similar to the Levoit LV-H133, as both devices are the first sample of the company to target mid-range segment.

Airthereal AGH550 has been priced at $299 officially on Airthereal website. The air purifier is available on Amazon as well, and thanks to our deal, you can find it at only $259 for a limited time.

While the Airthereal AGH550 is strictly a mid-range air purifier and a step in the right direction, it takes the fight to more premium air purifiers like Levoit LV-H134, Coway AP-1512HHS, Medify MA-40 and Honeywell HPA8350 among others. Airthereal AGH550 Design and Size

Right off the box, the Airthereal AGH550 follows strictly the winning design made by last year’s dominant air purifiers, like the Levoit LV-H134 or Winix NK105. Here we are another cylindrical tower air purifier, but it is quite smaller than these aforementioned devices, with the height of only 24.6 inches. In fact, it is even smaller than the GermGuardian AC9400W or Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier 2.0.

It’s got a plastic build which feels very brushed with the onyx black and curves towards the sides making the Airthereal AGH550 not wholly a cylinder shape. Overall it is solid and firm on the ground, thanks to a flat base and balance in the design.

This air purifier also sports the normal bottom-to-top air flow system concept, with a 360° air intake. On the downside though, it uses a front plate rather than perforated holes for exact 360° inlet, and that’s a pity.

I’m quite curious of the shape of perforated holes from both air inlets of the Airthereal AGH550, then I find out that they are the symbols of horoscope. It seems Airthereal AGH550 is looking for a way to distinct itself from others. The idea is nice, however, and sometimes air purifier companies should let users be curious about their products like that.

This air purifier returns the high-quality touch control panel from the Airthereal APH260 and adds more colored readings. It makes the Airthereal AGH550 truly amazing, especially in the darkness.

Airthereal AGH550 Filters

Normally, we will check the quality and quantity of the air filters to decide its performance, as well as the air filter types being used. I made a test for this air purifier in an area of 300 square feet, and let it run for 1 hour. Also, I selected many other air purifiers to compare with it, like the Blueair Classic 280i, TruSens Z-3000, Vornado PCO375DC and Oreck Air Response Turbo. As a result, the Airthereal AGH550 was the winner with the highest efficiency of 99.92% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns, while it is the most affordable.

There is only one downside for the air filtration system of Airthereal AGH550. It can last for only 6 months, and the price tag of the new air filter is now $69. So the annual filter cost you need to pay for using this air purifier could be $140, which is quite high for a mid-range product.
