Other Blueair’s Air Purifier Reviews:

Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i Price

The Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify arrives a little late to the purifier-humidifier party but, based on my time with the device, it’s a purifier/humidifier combo that mostly delights, and which is sure to earn a place among our ranking of the best air purifiers.

We also know of the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify Pro as an upgraded version of our today unit, and will make a review soon for this device. For the base Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify, the price is quite high at $429, which is close to the Sharp KC-850U. With few air purifier brands investing in hybrid technology, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify stands out as a unique option with limited competition.

If you’re familiar with the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH3, which comes at a much higher price, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify feels more affordable, making it a more appealing option. Don’t forget to check Breathe Quality deal, because you can find the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify at cheaper, from just $322.

Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i Design and Size

Blueair’s decision to make its first purifier-humidifier combination through multiple standalone generations turns out to have been a smart move. The Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify is in many ways what I want all combination air purifier devices to be.

Standing upright, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify’s 26-inch tall by 13.4-inch wide by 12-inch deep frame is like a very capable tower air purifier. Unlike the tall and narrow Dyson PH04, the dimensions of which stretch the definition of a traditional tower purifier, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify could almost pass for a standalone Blue Signature SP3i; that is as long as you overlook the water tank housing on the rear, which does not match the slimmer profile of the front panel.

It is even bigger and heavier than the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify Pro – which is basically a $99 upgrade from our today Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify. The weight of the unit is 20 lbs, not counting the 0.8 gallons tank. Again, if you don’t appreciate that multi-purpose devices like this are naturally going to be bigger and heavier than standard air purifiers, you’re barking up the wrong tree.

For most part, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify has a clean design and a crisp white exterior suited to any home aesthetic. The UV pump is built-in and the entire humidification system is engineered to resist bacterial growth, a humidifying feature that’s mainly for premium devices like the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool.

It is also very convenient to use the humidifier function of the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify, as you can refill the water tank from the top. This is simpler and doesn’t require you to bend down and remove the tank to refill it.

Back to the air purifying part, because we are Breathe Quality – a website dedicated to air purifiers alone, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify runs a similar bottom-to-top airflow system concept, using 3 different HEPA filters to cover the whole bottom part. There are air intake vents along the sides and lower portion of the unit. Along the base is the power cord connection. On top is the air purifier’s outlet, for releasing fresh air and invisible mist, too.

Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i Filters

We check the performance of one air purifiers based on its air filters’ quality and material, as well as the number of air filter types in the testing device. The Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify is a hybrid air purifier + humidifier device, so it only uses 1-stage air cleaning system.

  1. Particle filter – Instead of using a True HEPA filter, the BlueBlueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify runs a polypropylene fiber filter to help capture 99.97% of all allergens as small as 0.3 microns like dust, dust mites, pet dander, pollen and fungi (HEPASilent technology).

To keep the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify as slim as possible, Blueair decides to use only the normal Particle filter with HEPASilent technology to do the filtering works. The HEPASilent technology is basically the mechanical particle filter combined with an electrostatic layer, and its performance is generally better than normal HEPA filter.

For the performance, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify must take a more difficult test at 400 square feet, in 1 hour. However, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify did pretty well for its price, and it is even better than the Blueair ComfortPure T10i and Blueair ComfortPure T20i at more expensive price range. However, the performance of the Blueair hybrid air purifier is slightly behind the AeraMax SE and Airmega 250 – which are standalone air purifying devices.

With far better performance than the Sharp KC-850U, it’s safe to assume the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify is currently the best mid-range hybrid air purifier + humidifier combo at the moment.

Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i Power Consumption

Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i Additional Features

The Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i is a hybrid air purifier, making it a very modern appliance. Its humidifying function is a step above older products like the Sharp KC-860U or Sharp KC-P70UW. You might wonder what we mean by that. The humidification system is enhanced not only by a wick filter but also by UV-C light, which helps remove physical impurities from tap water as well as mold and viruses that can accumulate on the filter. With the InvisibleMist technology, you can enjoy clean and safe humidified air.

As a Blueair purifier, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify DH3i can connect to your smartphone app, and you can set the device to Night mode, change the schedule, or turn it on or off at will. You will enjoy the filter life alert whenever it’s time to replace your filter.

There are two Smart Sensors in the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify, one for the air quality and one for the humidity. Both work well, and you can activate the Auto Mode to automatically maintain the best air quality and humidity in your home.

One more thing that we love from the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify+Humidify is the Auto dry setting, which helps dry the wick filter, to prevent mold buildup.
