Since 2004, Airpura has been the best air purifier brand in Canada. They even have the scale to rival the Austin Air, with a very large manufacturer factory to deliver more and more air purifiers that meet your demands. The unique selling point of this brand is the powerful Central Air System, which allows the air flow to reach anywhere in your home. But is that enough to buy the Airpura P600. If not, please continue with our Airpura P600 Review.
Other Airpura’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Airpura P600 Price
The new Airpura P600 is an air purifier designed entirely for Airpura fans. You won’t want this if you’re thinking of upgrading from a Smart Blueair Classic 405 or Alen BreatheSmart 45i. And even if you try, there won’t be any smart air purifier for such price range at the moment. There is only thing with the charming of pure performance, high-quality air filters and powerful fan to take part in this segment.
Of course, it is a contender for a niche audience that doesn’t care about fancy features or good-looking appearance. We hope to see the beauty inside the Airpura P600, not from the outside. But don’t take it as a minus for the Airpura P600. Without the beauty, Airpura P600 shows a clear durability, using 100% metal. It is ready for your everyday, no matter what kinds of contaminants you need it to remove.
It bucks the tower concept trend or the portable unibody design in favor of a signature Austin Air‘s product, with some visible renovation to make it apart from the U.S brand. It offers something only the starved DIY air purifier addicts can devour as a result of great craftsmanship and strong air filters.
It’s certainly the improvement of the last year’s flagship – the Airpura UV600 that I found likable, especially with the add-on of the great 20W UV lamp. It feels sturdier and can survive even the hardest tests.
In the U.S, Airpura P600 costs $1149 but you can find a great deal below on Amazon from our button. The flagship of Airpura brand can even be more expensive, especially if you upgrade the Impregnated Activated Carbon filter and True HEPA filter. This air purifier is even more expensive than the Airpura F600 DLX.
This is the extra price range for even the top high-end air purifiers. If you want to look for a ready-to-be competitor of this Airpura P600, there are only the Winix T1, IQAir GC MultiGas and Oransi Erik 650A to select between. However, an Airpura P600 is still the most powerful air purifier, and I won’t hesitate to tell you why right now.

Airpura P600 Design and Size
The Airpura P600 still boasts the old-school thing that so many air purifier manufacturers have done away with – and I am talking about the very, very old design concept of this device. It’s exactly like the native Austin Air HealthMate Plus that we American all knew and used before. This is an air purifier for anyone who need the real performance for the price.
The height is still 23 inches and the width is about 15 inches, and it can blend in with all decors easily. You are having the very familiar 3 color options, from White, Black and Beige (Cream). I can’t deny that Airpura is copying nearly everything from the U.S firm Austin Air, but since the influence of this largest manufacturer is too broad, the customers are more likely to accept the Airpura air purifiers with this design concept.
What helped us be fond of the Airpura P600 is because of its nature. With a main housing made 100% from the powder coat steel, the Airpura P600 can prevent any off-gassing of chemical vapors, both within the clean air stream and in the unit’s end-of-life phase. It is also friendly to the nature, and can be 93% recyclable.
Just like any lower level brothers, the Airpura P600 uses capacitors which are free of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs. These substances are toxic to humans, animals, and the environment. That’s exactly how the Airpura P600 is keeping eco-awareness in mind. Even the UV lamp is purely electronic, and won’t emit any ozone.
Airpura P600 performs a distinctive 360° Distribution system for the air flow. This is only available in the top-class air purifiers, like Austin Air Bedroom Machine, IQAir HealthPro Plus and the Blueair Classic 605. It will maximize the air flow and direct the clean air to anywhere in your room. Such thing is only able on an air purifier with high fan power. Also, you can attach this air purifier to the Airpura Central Air System, to improve the efficiency of its air flow.
For the code name of Airpura P600, I guess it is “Photocatalytic Oxidize”, the unique technology that the Airpura brings upon this air purifier, and is an optional retrofit for the Airpura UV600.
Talking about the Airpura P600, it is, again, a 45-lb air purifier of this company. We are happy to have 4 casters to help move it around our home, as we can’t even lift this thing everyday without breaking our backbones, right?

Airpura P600 Filters
The air filtration process, along with both the quantity and the quality of its air filters, decide the ultimate level of the Airpura P600. This air purifier has nearly all the possible air filter types in one machine. Now we are checking the one and only 5-stage air filtration process of this Airpura P600.
- Pre-filter – To protect the main filter, Airpura P600 uses a poly pre-filter, which can trap large particles such as dust and hair. It can be vacuumed clean and should be changed every 12 months.
- Activated Carbon Filter – You get a powerful Activated Carbon filter in this Airpura P600, to absorb any types of household chemicals, smoke, odors and even Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
- True HEPA filter – The Airpura P600 features the top-class True HEPA filter of this company, which can deal with 99.97% of any airborne particles ≥ 0.3 microns.
- UV-C light filter – With a powerful 20W UV lamp, the Airpura P600 can remove disease-causing viruses, bacteria and mold.
- TitanClean Photocatalytic oxidation – An added protection to safely break down any chemicals and odors and purify the air.
If you experience the performance of Airpura UV600, you won’t be surprise at what the Airpura P600 can do. After all, the air filtration process from the Airpura P600 is even better than the previous flagship model.
First of all, the Airpura P600 still run the common poly pre-filter, which is a great layer of filtration against any types of large objects, like the large dust, pet hair, fur and human hair. You can vacuum this filter, but do not wash or rinse it. If there is no problem, you can use the pre-filter for 1 year.
The Activated Carbon filter is still the powerful 2-inch depth filter with 18 lbs of coconut shell carbon inside. This is the first and basic Activated Carbon from this Canadian brand, but it holds an impressive performance. It has more carbon 1.5 times than even the famous IQAir GC MultiGas, and 6 times than the high-quality Oransi Erik 650A. It is safe to say that Airpura is the best air purifier brand against all types of smoke, wildfire smoke, chemicals, odors and VOCs at the moment. Take the Airpura P600 as an example, the enormous carbon filter of this air purifier can absorb up to 2 years without replacing.
But that’s not all about the amazing carbon filter, because it is made 100% of natural materials – the coconut shell charcoal. It is as high quality as the ABS carbon of IQAir GC MultiGas, and 100% guarantee that there is no chemical emission. Moreover, you can upgrade to the impregnated carbon filter, with 17% potassium iodide and can remove the chemicals even much quicker.
Back to the True HEPA filter, it is a massive 40-sq-ft layer of filtration, with certified rating to deal with 99.97% of any airborne pollutants such as dust, dust mites, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, bacteria, germs and viruses. These impurities can be as small as 0.3 microns, the standard of MERV-17 rating. If you want a better filtration, you can buy the HEPA 14 filter, and enjoy the better efficiency of 99.99% for any airborne particles ≥ 0.3 microns.
The UV lamp is back from the previous UV600, and it is also the best UV-C light filter in the market. It is stronger at least 4 times than a normal UV bulb. The UV-C light is the ultimate solution against any types of germs, bacteria, viruses and mold infestations. And this technology is completely harmless for humans and animals, and it only emits inside the machine.
Finally, we can’t forget to mention the latest Airpura technology – the TitanClean Photocatalytic oxidation. By using the UV rays with the inside Titanium oxide, the process will create hydroxyls (which is exactly the same thing from the PlasmaWave of Winix T1) to combine with the contaminants such as bacteria, chemicals and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Once bound together, the chemical reaction takes place between the super-charged ion and the pollutant. This process is called “photocatalytic oxidation”. As a result, the pollutants become harmless carbon dioxide and water molecules, and the air is purified totally.
However, you should know that the process of TitanClean Photocatalytic oxidation is not one type of ionizer, and therefore it won’t emit any ozone.
That’s enough for the theory, and to test the performance of this Airpura P600 this time, I used the Austin Air Bedroom Machine, Oransi EJ120 and Blueair Pro L to help you know why we need to pay for $300 more for the new function. This could be the most expensive test in our labs, but I am happy to deliver the result to you. They are all the very best air purifiers in the market at the moment, but the Airpura P600 is absolutely efficient against all types of ultra-fine particles as small as 0.3 microns. The efficiency of the Airpura flagship is 99.99%, and I believe if we upgrade enough, it can completely clean the air.
My testing conditions: Room coverage of 500 sq ft, duration of 1 hour.
The True HEPA filter of this Airpura P600 can last 5 year, but the total price for everything in this air purifier is unbelievable. You will need to pay $179 for the HEPA filter, $219 for the basic Activated Carbon filter, another $219 for the UV lamp and finally, $249 for the TitanClean reflector.

Airpura P600 Room Coverage
An air purifier consists of two most important parts, first being the air filters and the second is its fan. For the world of air purifier, the fan power is normally proportional to the price you pay for this machine. As an air purifier that breaks into the 4-digit cost area, the Airpura P600 can deal with an extra large room, up to 2000 sq ft. This is even larger than the suggested room size of IQAir GC MultiGas or Oransi Erik 650A.
The ACH of Airpura P600 is 2X. This is the standard air changes per hour rating of Airpura, and this machine can exchange the air every 30 minutes.
The CADR of Airpura P600 is 560 cfm in general. This CADR rating is only below the Blueair Pro XL, or the IQAir GC MultiGas at its best condition. With such fan power, Airpura P600 can clean your room very fast.

Airpura P600 Sound
The Airpura P600 is a giant air purifier, and normally, we can’t expect a low noise level from this huge machine. Surprisingly, with a high CADR rating like this, the Airpura P600 can achieve a noise level as low as 28 db on lowest fan speed. This noise level is the same as the whisper, which is very, very quiet.
Even when you switch to the highest setting, the noise level is only 62 db. The sound is obvious, but it is not too high especially as a trade off for the good fan power. Of course, you will notice it, and if you find it annoying, you should switch to the lower speed.

Airpura P600 Power Consumption
In Breathe Quality, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient, and therefore, power consumption is an important criteria to decide which air purifier to buy.
The power consumption of Airpura P600 is even higher with the UV lamp, and even the lowest is 60W. If you run the air purifier mostly on the highest fan speed, the power consumption could be as high as 140W.
For running an Airpura P600 8 hours per day, you need to pay from $22 to $50 annually.

Airpura P600 Additional Features
Both the Airpura and Austin Air families are saying no to any kinds of additional features. It seems that the high-end air purifiers are mostly for air purification, not for some flashy features to show off. You shouldn’t be surprise if your Airpura P600 doesn’t have any additional features, just exactly like the Oransi Erik 650A.
There won’t be even the filter replacement indicator or the Timer. There is only one manual knob to change the fan speed of this machine, and another button to change the level of UV lamp.
If you like to add the Smart Sensor, a great feature to automatically adjust the fan power to suit the current indoor air quality, you need to buy the IQAir GC MultiGas. Or with only $749, you can choose between the AIRMEGA 400S and the Alen BreatheSmart 75i, as they stuff enough smart features for your style.
Airpura P600 Customer Service
The Airpura Industries is a strong brand in Canada, and they are active in customer service field. Anyone who demands an air purifier from this brand can take dedicated suggestion about which device to buy, also with a reasonable installation of Central Air System (the latter is only available in local).
You can contact them freely via phone at 866-505-7872, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. They will get back to you as soon as possible.
Moreover, this company provides a 5-year warranty on parts, and even 10-year warranty on labor. This is one of the best customer services for the air purifier, and you would be happy with it.
The ultimate air purifier, the best machine on Earth, the air purifier with the greatest air filtration process. These words are kindly for the Airpura P600, a beast in air purifying industry. Together with the Central Air System, there is no other device that you could wish for more than this one.
Should I buy Airpura P600?
Yes, but only if you are desperate for your allergies and asthma problem. Others in Airpura family are strong enough to deal with the airborne allergens in real-world use, and an upgrade to Airpura P600 is quite unnecessary.
- If you have serious allergies or asthma to airborne pollutants: this is one of the best devices you could pay for purifying your indoor air.
- If you want a better performance, or better fan power to clean your room faster: to have one air purifier with better fan power, you must pay $1200 for the Blueair Pro XL.
- If you need an air purifier with a better room coverage: the Airpura P600 is one of the best air purifiers for extra large room, especially with the Airpura Central System.
- If you need a budget version of this air purifier: any others in the Airpura are considered the budget version of this Airpura P600, but you must concern about the Airpura I600 and Airpura UV600 the most, as they both have the UV-C light filter.
- If you need a more silent air purifier: the Airpura P600 is really quiet for its high fan power.
- If you care about the annual filter cost and energy cost: there are no option with better annual filter cost in this high-range segment.
- If you love the additional features: the IQAir GC MultiGas and Winix T1 are your only available options with Smart Sensor.
- Cleaning Power
- Power Consumption
The performance of this Airpura P600 is ultimate in air purifier level.
