Since 2004, the Airpura is the largest air purifier manufacturer in Canada. Their scale can be equal to the Austin Air in the U.S. Their machines are available in many schools, universities, hospitals, offices and industrial factories. The Airpura F600, with power against the formaldehyde, is a key product of this brand. Let’s read our Airpura F600 Review to see if you need it or not.
Other Airpura’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Airpura F600 Price
In nature, the formaldehyde is produced mostly by the wood. However, thanks to the increasing activities of using paints, varnishes, floor finishes and even cigarette, the formaldehyde is now higher than the safety level many times. That being said, an air purifier with the ability to deal with formaldehyde is very important.
The Airpura F600 is exactly the solution. With the new combination of True HEPA filter, instead of the previous HEPA filter like Airpura T600 and Airpura C600, the Airpura F600 can trap exactly 99.97% of any particles with 0.3 microns in size or larger. Together with the Airpura F600 DLX, these devices will make your life easier.
The Airpura starts with a common price range like the T600 and C600, at $849. However, the Airpura F600 DLX upgrades to the strongest Activated Carbon filter (with potassium permanganate) and costs you more. It is $100 higher than both the Airpura T600 FLX and Airpura C600 FLX for the version of Airpura F600 DLX.

Airpura F600 Design and Size
For the design and size, I will repeat again and again for the whole 12 options of Airpura air purifiers.
This could be one advantage for using an Airpura air purifier. After all, you will have a housing, all you need is to fill the air filters inside it. For example, they will all share the same powder coat steel body, and can prevent any off-gassing of chemical vapors, both within the clean air stream and in the unit’s end-of-life phase. The Airpura F600 is 93% recyclable in case you worry about what to do when it comes to the end of the line.
There is one pressure seal on the filter chamber ensures that all of the dirty air passes through the filters. Other systems allow leakage and do not achieve the 99.97% HEPA filtration rating. Also, the felt gaskets will seal the filter chamber and maximize the filtration.
Just like any other air purifiers in the Airpura family, both the Airpura F600 and Airpura F600 DLX are 23 inches in height and 15 inches in width. However, unlike the Airpura C600, the duo can’t be attached to the Airpura Central Air System.
The code name of Airpura F600, “F” must stand for “formaldehyde”. To deal with the common formaldehyde, the Airpura F600 reduces the size of its Activated Carbon filter, to save space for the True HEPA filter. As a result, it can capture the small particles inside the composite wood products, and the potassium permanganate is really effective at dealing with formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
Like any other air purifiers in Airpura family, the Airpura F600 and Airpura F600 DLX will use the 360° Distribution air flow concept, to maximize the air flow to anywhere in your home.
Below is a deal to Airpura F600 DLX – with enhanced Activated Carbon filter to further accelerate the binding of chemicals and formaldehyde.
Both the Airpura F600 and Airpura F600 DLX weigh 45 lbs, and you will need these 4 casters to help move it around your home.

Airpura F600 Filters
Now, we are reading one of the two most important factors when deciding the performance of one air purifier – its air filters. Basically, we will check the quantity of air filters and what air filter types it used first. Airpura F600 makes use of the signature 3-stage air cleaning system of this company.
- Pre-filter – To protect the main filter, Airpura F600 uses a poly pre-filter, which can trap large particles such as pet hair, human hair and large dust. It can be vacuumed clean and should be changed after 6 months or 1 year.
- Activated Carbon Filter – The main reason to buy the Airpura F600 is because of the Activated Carbon filter, which can absorb a variety of toxic formaldehyde and VOCs from the air.
- True HEPA filter – Airpura F600 upgrades to the True HEPA filter, and can deal with 99.97% of any contaminant particles as small as 0.3 microns in size.
We’ve talked about the performance of the Activated Carbon filter in Airpura air purifiers for many times. The Airpura F600 is not an exception, and it is the duty of this air filter type in removing the formaldehyde and VOCs. To save space for the True HEPA filter (which is bigger than the inferior HEPA-Barrier filter), Airpura reduces the size of the Airpura F600’s Activated Carbon filter to only 2-inch deep instead of 3-inch. This leads to less amount of carbon, which is only 18 lbs if compared with 26 lbs of the Airpura T600 and Airpura C600.
However, the Activated Carbon filter of Airpura F600 has 17% potassium permanganate, the highest quality material to deal with the formaldehyde. There is a $150 difference between this upgraded Activated Carbon filter and the normal charcoal filter. You will still be happy because the 18-lb carbon filter can last as long as the 26-lbs carbon filter, up to 2 years.
If you buy the Airpura F600 DLX, you will enjoy the best Activated Carbon filter from this company, with 35% potassium permanganate in a 26-lbs filter. It can double the efficiency against the chemicals, formaldehyde and VOCs. As a result, it will cost you higher than any other Activated Carbon filter, but you can’t go wrong with it.
With only 2-inch deep for carbon filter, the Airpura F600 has enough space to put the True HEPA filter inside. Unlike the T600 and C600, the Airpura F600 uses a certified True HEPA filter with 40 sq ft in size, such size that nearly matches the Austin Air HealthMate Plus or Austin Air Bedroom Machine. Such size will guarantee a high efficiency of 99.97% trapping any allergens and pollutant particles as small as 0.3 microns in size. And the best thing, it can last 3 to 5 years without need of replacement.
Such high performance can’t be achieved by the Airpura F600 DLX. With more space for the 26-lbs Activated Carbon filter, the Airpura F600 DLX can only store a normal HEPA filter, which is exactly the HEPA-Barrier from the Airpura T600 and Airpura C600. Therefore, it can only deal with 95% of any particles down to 1 micron.
I am excited to test the performance of the first True HEPA air purifier from this company right away. Thanks to some necessary sponsorship, we can use the Austin Air Allergy Machine (with a 60-sq-ft True HEPA filter), IQAir HealthPro Plus and Oransi EJ120 to compare with this air purifier. All of them were running in a room of 500 sq ft, in one hour. As the result, they all scored from 99.97% to 99.99% as the efficiency of trapping any particles as small as 0.3 microns – the absolute score for the performance of one air purifier.
But the down side of such high-quality air filter is its cost, and the Airpura F600 is no exception. With the new True HEPA filter, it will cost you $179, and the Carbon filter will be another $309. If you use the Airpura F600 DLX, the Activated Carbon filter will cost you $409.

Airpura F600 Room Coverage
Just like any other air purifiers from Airpura, both the Airpura F600 and Airpura F600 DLX can cover a room of 2000 sq ft without any problem.
The ACH of Airpura F600 is 2X. For a room of 2000 sq ft, it will exchange the air every 30 minutes.
The CADR of Airpura F600 is 560 cfm in general. With such high CADR rating, the Airpura F600 can clean a room very fast.

Airpura F600 Sound
The Airpura F600 shares the same fan power as others in the Airpura family, and we can believe in such quiet fan power.
The noise level of both the Airpura F600 and Airpura F600 DLX range from the lowest to the highest is 28 – 62 db. This is the standard noise level of an air purifier with such pure power like the Airpura F600. Also, you should notice that 28 db at the lowest setting is exactly like the whisper, and I bet you can hear anything.
As an air purifier for the construction sites and workplace, the Airpura F600 is too quiet to be notice.

Airpura F600 Power Consumption
In Breathe Quality, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient, and therefore, power consumption is an important criteria to decide which air purifier to buy.
Such powerful air purifier like the Airpura F600 can’t hold the power consumption to be low. It has the quite low power consumption on lowest speed, to be only 40W. However, when you switch to the highest setting, the power consumption is measured to be 120W. It is even higher than both the IQAir GC MultiGas and Oransi EJ120.
To run the Airpura F600 8 hours per day, you need to pay from $15 to $43 annually. Even if you always run the air purifier on highest speed, it would cost you only $0.1 each day.

Airpura F600 Additional Features
Both the Airpura and Austin Air families are saying no to any kinds of additional features. It seems that the high-end air purifiers are mostly for air purification, not for some flashy features to show off. You shouldn’t be surprise if your Airpura F600 doesn’t have any additional features, just like the Blueair Pro L and Oransi EJ120.
There won’t be even the filter replacement indicator or the Timer. There is only one manual switch to change the fan speed of this machine.
If you like to add the Smart Sensor, a great feature to automatically adjust the fan power to suit the current indoor air quality, you need to buy the IQAir HealthPro Plus. Or with only $749, you can choose between the AIRMEGA 400S and the Alen BreatheSmart 75i.
Airpura F600 Customer Service
The Airpura Industries is a strong brand in Canada, and they are active in customer service field. Anyone who demands an air purifier from this brand can take dedicated suggestion about which device to buy, also with a reasonable installation of Central Air System (the latter is only available in local).
You can contact them freely via phone at 866-505-7872, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. They will get back to you as soon as possible.
Moreover, this company provides a 5-year warranty on parts, and even 10-year warranty on labor. This is one of the best customer services for the air purifier, and you would be happy with it.
The Airpura F600 (and especially, Airpura F600 DLX) is the best air purifier you can get for the formaldehyde. If you are having a new home, or living near the construction sites and manufacturers that release chemicals frequently, I suggest you to check this air purifier.
Should I buy Airpura F600?
Yes, this is the best air purifier you can get for any formaldehyde problems. An upgrade to the Airpura F600 DLX is also highly recommended.
- If you have serious allergies or asthma to airborne pollutants: and you need a solution for the chemicals and formaldehyde, you should buy this Airpura F600.
