Alen finally released a dedicated True HEPA air purifier. Both the previous Alen BreatheSmart 45i and Alen BreatheSmart are powerhouses, yet fell down significantly in terms of their air filtration system which still needed a certified True HEPA filter to them to bring them up to a level of the flagship Alen BreatheSmart 75i. Alen finally feels like they have a fitting flagship, which is quite ready to usurp its rivals and that’s why it’s a big step in the right direction. So, it’s time we explore more in this Alen BreatheSmart 75i Review.
Alen BreatheSmart 75i Price
As the first and the top brand to deliver a lifetime warranty, Alen has stacked enough success to drive their active community wild again with a new flagship. But the Alen fans will have reasons to roar for, as after 14 years, the company decided to make an appearance of a True HEPA air purifier, in the name of Alen BreatheSmart 75i.
Made by Alen, the Alen BreatheSmart 75i will inherit all the signature specs like a large room coverage of high-end devices, a full customization of colors to choose from and the most important, a top-class customer service to rely on. It’s clear that this is Alen’s best air purifier to date, but what can we expect to pay for such a device?
Of course, Alen always commit in high price in exchange for their best customer service, and the flagship of them is expected to stay in high-range market. That being said, the Alen BreatheSmart 75i starts from $749 for the White edition and the basic Pure HEPA filter. If you add in the Pet or the Heavy Odor air filter, along with any customized color will cost you $69 more.
At that sort of price you have plenty of alternatives to consider. And they are all the top-notch device that is worth your money, like the $749 Medify MA-112, AIRMEGA 400S and Blueair Classic 605. It is hard to resist the high-end Smart connectivity in these air purifiers, that will give you the comfort to control your device quickly. If your thing is more expensive, you can look at the IQAir HealthPro Compact, IQAir HealthPro Plus or Airpura V600.
If your budget can’t quite stretch that far, the previous Alen BreatheSmart and Alen BreatheSmart FIT50 are the more affordable choices, especially when they come with the new True HEPA flter. Alen has a free shipping policy, and if the orders are placed before 3pm then you will get the Alen BreatheSmart 75i in the same day.
Below is the best deal with a $49 discount for your Alen BreatheSmart 75i. You know that you can’t go wrong with Breathe Quality.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Design and Size
It would be too easy to say the Alen BreatheSmart 75i is just a metal copy of the BreatheSmart Classic, but it’s very, very close. There are a few slight changes that make… a little difference though, starting with the size of this air purifier. It is a little bit bigger, with a height of 27 inches, compared with the 26.7 inches in the previous BreatheSmart air purifier.
The metal used in the construction of the device is also more robust, so if you choose the colored version, you may find your Alen BreatheSmart 75i just luxurious. With the variants of 14 color options, the Alen BreatheSmart 75i is nothing short of beautiful, with an attractive colorful sheen when the air purifier catches the light.
And, thankfully, the air flow system remains the same as the BreatheSmart Classic, which is bottom-to-top with a big air filter behind the front panel. Though the air flow is not as good as the 360 Degree air intake in other high-end devices, it will support the Alen BreatheSmart 75i to maximize the efficiency of the fan power.
But overall it’s a very similar design to last year, and only looking on top of the Alen BreatheSmart 75i and BreatheSmart Classic will reveal the main difference. The outlet air grill looks different, and we have a modern control panel with the exact logo of Alen BreatheSmart 75i, rather than just only the word “BreatheSmart”.
The Alen BreatheSmart 75i is also the heaviest in the line of Alen’s devices. It weighs no less than 27 lbs. But in the world of the high-end bulky air purifiers, we must accept the giant machines which hold the big fan to suck in more air. The top examples could be both the Blueair Classic 605 and IQAir HealthPro Plus with 35 lbs in weight. With an useful handle as usual, you will find no trouble in moving the Alen BreatheSmart 75i around your home.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Filters
As the decisive criteria for the performance of one air purifier, by default we look at the quantity and the quality of its air filters, and what the air filter types are using. The Alen BreatheSmart 75i commits with the typical Alen’s 3-stage air cleaning system. However, we are having a real True HEPA air purifier, with variants of 4 available selections as below.
- Pure – The standard True HEPA filter of Alen BreatheSmart 75i, which is able to capture 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns pollutant particles such as dust, dust mites and pollen.
- Fresh – The next level HEPA filter will improve the first Pure, with an addition of Activated Carbon filter, to deal with the household odors and chemicals. This air filter is necessary for people who are sensitive to VOCs.
- Pet – Without the Activated Carbon filter, the Pet air filter uses the Alen’s patented Molecular Conversion Powder to ensure heavy pet odors are destroyed at a molecular level.
- Heavy Odor – Alen BreatheSmart 75i changed the Molecular Conversion Powder in the Pet air filter to make the new Heavy Odor filter, which can remove the household odors from smelly kids/teenagers, kitchen garbage, and other everyday activities.
It seems the air filtration system of Alen BreatheSmart works the best against all types of allergens. As a result, Alen doesn’t change much from the formula of success for this brand, starting with a mesh pre-filter to capture large particles and extend the life of the True HEPA filter. The Alen BreatheSmart 75i uses a new plastic filter frames with detachable pre-filter for easy cleaning.
You still have a normal ionizer to improve the efficiency of the air filtration system. Ionizer works due to the electrical effects of positive and negative charges, which are attracted to each other. When the ionizer feature is turned on, voltage is applied to a series of built-in needles, creating electrons which are discharged into the air. When these electrons attach to air molecules, negatively-charged ions are formed.
As the result, the allergens can more easily be trapped by your Alen BreatheSmart 75i’s True HEPA filter. Even the smallest bacteria like E. Coli and Staph Bacteria will be completely removed through this process. Alen also adds an antimicrobial compound to the True HEPA, protecting the filter from harmful bacteria and microbe growth.
According to the marketing materials, the True HEPA filter from Alen BreatheSmart 75i can outrun even the Rabbit Air MinusA2 or Blue Pure 121. But in Breathe Quality, we don’t believe in the pure marketing advertisement. So I grab our testing Rabbit Air MinusA2 and one $700-$800 air purifier, the AIRMEGA 400S, to compare with the performance of this Alen BreatheSmart 75i. All tests are under a room of 300 square feet within 1 hour of consistent running.
They are all worth the money you pay for them, as all of three air purifiers can guarantee a high efficiency of trapping exactly 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns particles. To compare with the previous Alen BreatheSmart, the efficiency is just only 99.92%.
There is no need in telling that Alen BreatheSmart 75i is the best air purifier of this company. But the cost of the True HEPA air filter is increased, too. For the standard Pure filter (the B7-Pure), the cost is $99. You need to pay for $139 for the Pet (B7-MP-Pet) and Heavy Odor (B7-MP-Odor) air filter.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Room Coverage
Look at the tradition of Alen, I believe in the room coverage of Alen BreatheSmart 75i to match any high-end flagship power. With 1300 square feet, the Alen BreatheSmart 75i has the largest room coverage device from the brand. Even on the lowest speed, this air purifier can clean a room of 350 square feet with ease.
The ACH of Alen BreatheSmart 75i is 2X to 5X. For a room of 1300 square feet, this air purifier only clean twice an hour. However, if your room is much smaller than 1300 square feet, you will enjoy the new fresh air every 12 minutes.
The CADR of Alen BreatheSmart 75i is 355 Dust/ 350 Smoke/ 400 Pollen (cfm). I must admit that Alen BreatheSmart 75i has a good fan power, but it is still quite insufficient for the actual room coverage of 1300 square feet. This fan power is also below the trio of Dyson Pure Cool Link, Dyson Pure Hot+Cool and Dyson Pure Cool Tower, because the Dyson air purifiers are designed to be the cooling fan as well. But don’t worry, because the CADR just only tells how fast your air purifier can clean your room, but not the performance rating.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Sound
One reason Alen gave to public for not having True HEPA filter is because they don’t want the True HEPA filter restricts airflow. It is quite reasonable, and with less restriction in the air flow, you don’t need a powerful fan to cover a large space. But in the case of Alen BreatheSmart 75i, it seems they deny everything they said before.
Why I could say this? The Alen BreatheSmart 75i is extremely quiet despite of its True HEPA core. The noise level at the lowest setting is only 25 decibels, which is similar to the Rabbit Air MinusA2. It is a high compliment, as the MinusA2 is now the most silent air purifier to run in the world. To help you understand how quiet it is, it is just the same noise level of the quiet rural in night time.
Even at the highest setting, the noise level is just only 49 decibels (db), which is a lot better than any previous devices of this company. It is even quieter than the normal conversation at home, and I bet you won’t find this noise level affect you much. And don’t forget the wonderful pink noise frequency of this Alen BreatheSmart 75i. If you’ve ever had difficulty falling asleep, someone may have suggested the concept of pink noise to you. Pink noise consists of varying frequencies, but the volume decreases whenever the frequency doubles. As a result, it will help you sleep faster, or increase the productivity and creativity at work.
For all the benefits, there is no doubt that you will find the Alen BreatheSmart 75i common in the office, or other quiet places like library or bedroom.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” An air purifier is meant to run for a long time to be efficient, that’s why many air purifier brands consider the energy-saving standard, mostly in the rate of Energy Star, is one important selling point.
Prepare to be amazed, as the power consumption of the most powerful Alen air purifier is just 45 watts on highest speed. At last, Alen can claim that their air purifier is extremely quiet, that even their customers thought that something was wrong, like it was not working.
That being said, we get another Alen air purifier with Energy Star rating. This is the sign to help customers know which air purifier is the most energy efficient, to save you from the electricity bill.
For using a Alen BreatheSmart 75i 8 hours per day, it would cost you only $16 per year.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Additional Features
Anyone who read my previous Alen reviews would have realized quite quickly that all of the air purifiers in BreatheSmart family are having the same additional features.
What’s interesting here is that Alen has clearly optimized things, as when I used the Alen BreatheSmart 75i test, its Smart Sensor detects the current air quality really fast. I’ve been testing air purifier for a long, long time, and I can make sure that the Alen BreatheSmart 75i’s sensor is the most accurate and fastest in the market. It will always let you know the status of the air quality around you, and change the fan speed automatically to suit it. For example, if the feedback light red, Alen BreatheSmart 75i indicates that your room has heavy pollutants and automatically runs at the highest fan speed to deal with the pollutants faster. If you find the light blue, you can believe that the air purifier only runs at whisper fan speed, and therefore reserve the energy better.
“Don’t wonder if it is working. Know it is.” I am really impressed with the quote of Alen.
Moreover, when it’s bedtime, lights-off mode cleans the air without disturbing your sleep. Also, you still have the basic functions like Timer and LED indicator for filter replacement. You won’t need to worry about your children accidentally touch the control panel, as Alen BreatheSmart 75i comes with a good lock function.
Alen BreatheSmart 75i Customer Service
Running through a very long review about Alen air purifiers, you may question us: “Why I need to buy Alen air purifier?” Yes, if it is not for the outstanding performance, or the top-class fan power, then there is must be something really, really important. What I’m trying to say here is the perfect customer service from the Alen Corporation.
Alen doesn’t hide the intent to speak high of their customer services. Look at their website, there are full of content to support the customers. You will have their phone, their emails, and of course, their support policies without any hindrance. To reach the Alen, you can contact them 6/7 days per week. They provide the best fast and free shipping for any products, as long as the orders are placed before 3 PM, they will guarantee to ship in the same day. Impressive, right?
They expand the refund time up to 60 days, or 2 months. You won’t need to worry about the quality of your air purifiers, because Alen will back you up with (also the first) Lifetime Warranty. Whenever your personal Alen air purifier doesn’t operate as normal, you will have a same refurbished air purifier with free shipping. To do this, please call 512-436-0457.
There are a lot of good review for the Alen customer services, that’s why I highly recommend to look for the brand if you need permanent better air quality for your home.
Alen BreatheSmart 75i will definitely be in one of our lists for the best air purifiers. The air purifier has everything to claim one spot: a powerful True HEPA filter, variety of beautiful color selections and the best customer service behind. I am looking forward to seeing how the Alen can push to be the top rated air purifier brand in the world.
As a top air purifier, the Alen BreatheSmart 75i truly outshines any previous models of this company.
