The Levoit Vital Pet is here because pet owners demanded more than a generic air purifier. It’s got all the pet-focused bells and whistles of the Levoit Vital 200S with some extra design to withstand pet damages. But it lacks the auto-clean scraper of the newer Levoit Vital Pet Pro, and for that, it is certainly the forgotten child of Levoit. Let’s dive deep in the new Levoit Vital Pet review.

Levoit Vital Pet Price

With the Vital series being a vital (pun intended) part of Levoit’s lineup, the company took an interesting approach. Instead of expanding the series with larger models such as a hypothetical Levoit Vital 400S, Levoit introduced the Levoit Vital Pet, a pet-focused variant designed specifically for households with furry companions.

However, the Levoit Vital Pet feels like a forgotten air purifier, with no dedicated product page on Levoit’s website. We were surprised to get our hands on a test unit, but it didn’t take long to understand why. Compared to the base Levoit Vital 100S, it’s mostly just a cosmetic redesign that comes with a higher price tag. That’s hardly enough reason for the Levoit Vital Pet to exist.

The Levoit Vital Pet costs $159, which is $20 more than the Vital 100S, putting it in the same price range as the Levoit Vital 200S. With the newer 2026 Levoit Vital Pet Pro, we believe the Vital Pet model will be soon discontinued.

Not to mention the clearly better alternatives within Levoit’s own lineup, there is also plenty of competition at this price point. The strongest contender is certainly the Blue Pure 511i Max, but don’t overlook the Medify MA-25 and Coway Airmega 150. Also worth considering are the Winix 5510, Winix 5520, and Winix 5530. While they carry higher list prices, they frequently go on sale and can offer excellent value.

Levoit Vital Pet Design and Size

For better or worse, the Levoit Vital Pet looks almost identical to the Levoit Vital 100S, which itself is a solid upgrade over the original Vital 100. Sure, you could point out that it has a different grille design and a slightly whiter finish than the Vital 100S. Fair enough, but that’s about where the differences end.

The differences between the two units are very similar to what we saw in the past with the Levoit Core 300 and Core P350. They look nearly identical, weigh the same, and share the exact same dimensions. Think of it as getting a limited-edition version of the Levoit Vital 100S, and call it a day. Whether those design changes are worth an extra $20 is up to you to decide.

So, the Levoit Vital Pet is quite compact at 7.4″D x 12.9″W x 16.3″H, and the unit weight is just 9.7 lbs. It’s certainly a small console air purifier, which is a plus when it remains a power of the very old Levoit LV-PUR131.

The biggest design difference between the Levoit Vital Pet and a standard Vital 100 is the wide U-shaped air inlet running across the lower section of the unit. Now, that inlet is specifically engineered to catch airborne pet fur before it reaches the main filter. It’s just the same design starting from the Vital 200S.

Other than that, it’s a console air purifier, so it uses the same front-to-top airflow system concept.

Levoit Vital 200S Filters

The most important factor in determining an air purifier’s performance is its filtration system. We typically evaluate how many filters it uses and what air filter types are included. The Levoit Vital Pet runs the same 3-stage air cleaning system.

1. Pre-filter – The Levoit Vital Pet has a removable, washable pre-filter that can capture lint, fibers, hair, and pet fur.
2. True HEPA filter – An enhanced H13 True HEPA filter with statically charged fibers to trap at least 99.97% of 0.3-micron airborne particles, such as fine dust, smoke particles, pollen, and pet dander.
3. Activated Carbon filter – This Activated Carbon filter captures and neutralizes smoke and odors from the kitchen, your pets, or even the outdoors.

If you’re looking for a capable filtration system that addresses the specific needs of pet households, the Levoit Vital Pet’s 3-stage setup delivers exactly that. It is marketed as having more activated carbon than the Vital 100S, allowing it to better tackle pet odors.

For its performance, the Levoit Vital Pet is considered to be the same as the Levoit Vital 100S. After 1 hour, in the room of 150 square feet, the Levoit Vital Pet can capture 99.92% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. It is an impressive result for the Levoit.

The Levoit Vital Pet uses a new air filter, similar to the Levoit Vital Pet Pro. The company recommend to replace filter every 6 months, so the annual cost is quite high.

Levoit Vital Pet Room Coverage

At the moment, the Levoit Vital Pet isn’t verified by the AHAM yet, and the company recommends the air purifier for 1,072 sq ft. However, you should use the Levoit Vital Pet in rooms up to 220 square feet for the best performance.

The ACH of the Levoit Vital Pet is 5X. In the suggested room size, the air purifier can clean your room up to 5 times per hour.

The CADR of the Levoit Vital Pet is 154 Dust/ 143 Smoke/ 184 Pollen (cfm). It is very similar to the base Levoit Vital 100S.

Levoit Vital Pet Sound

Despite its wide-inlet design, the Levoit Vital Pet managed impressively quiet operation throughout the week before needing any filter indicator attention. When the air purifier is on its lowest speed, you’ll barely notice it’s on, as the noise level is only 21 decibels (dB).

On its highest speed, the noise level can reach 53 decibels, still below normal refrigerator noise level.

Levoit Vital Pet Power Consumption

A good air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be more efficient, making the high-priority question in Breathe Quality: “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” To know the answer, we will need to check the power consumption of this air purifier.

The Levoit Vital Pet has a rated power consumption of 41 watts, which is quite reasonable for an air purifier of this size. It’s not the most energy-efficient model in Levoit’s lineup, but it still delivers respectable efficiency overall.

If you run the Levoit Vital Pet at least for 8 hours per day, it would cost you $18 annually.

Levoit Vital Pet Additional Features

Levoit has been part of the smart home appliance race for years, and nearly every current Levoit air purifier benefits from built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The VeSync app lets you control the Levoit Vital Pet remotely and makes it easy to create schedules and adjust settings from anywhere. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support voice control, so you can’t operate the air purifier through Alexa or Google Assistant, at least at the time of writing.

Despite my mild fatigue with app-dependent everything, one of my favorite features is Pet Plus mode, which creates a daily schedule around pet-owner routines. The app lets you configure what the purifier does when you walk your dog, when you’re home, and when you leave – so the Vital Pet fits into your day rather than running at a fixed speed around the clock.

There is a Smart Auto Mode that reads the dual sensor output in real time and adjusts fan speed continuously based on both particle and VOC levels. It’s designed to catch odor events – litter box use, cooking, or a wet dog shaking off – and respond before they spread.

Levoit Vital Pet Customer Service

Levoit is a brand that strongly focuses on its customers and community. If you buy one of its products, you will receive everything you need to set it up and run it. Negative customer service reviews are almost nonexistent.

There is only one thing: it gives a basic 1-year warranty. To get an additional 1-year warranty, you need to have some free registration. It is easy, and everyone is willing to sign up for another year of warranty. It seems newer products are getting a 2-year warranty by default.

Our verdict

The Levoit Vital Pet is certainly a capable air purifier, much like the base Levoit Vital 100S. However, its annual filter replacement cost is relatively high, which feels out of place for a budget-friendly appliance. On top of that, the arrival of the Levoit Vital Pet Pro suggests that the Levoit Vital Pet may soon be phased out of the lineup.
