2020 is the start of many new air purifiers, and Medify Air adds one new contender into their strongest field – the top low-range segment. The new Medify MA-25 is the company’s top low-ranger, bringing update in design and decent fan power. And one more thing, the price will make loyal users happy. Alright, this is the first impression of Medify MA-25 Review, and I promise to keep update the review for anything new later.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
- High-quality HEPA filter
- Lifetime warranty
- Excellent glass feeling
- Annual filter cost is high
- Lacks of Smart Sensor
Medify Air stated themselves as a family-owned U.S based company, started back in only 2019. However, the company has a serious lineup to compete in any different price ranges, for example, a Medify MA-14 for as low as nearly $100 or a Medify MA-112 that can go head-to-head with even big brands’ flagships. But for the new decade, the company has delivered a brand new air purifier, the Medify MA-25, and I hope in this Medify MA-25 Review, I can give you the reasons to buy this air purifier immediately.
Medify MA-25 Price
The Medify MA-25 is a fine air purifier that lacks any crippling flaws, and it is also the first low-range air purifier of this company with tempered glass panel that I’ve tested. But without the Smart Sensor and a little higher price than the Medify MA-18, these facts make it hard to champion over other lower-mid-range alternatives.
The gap between the most popular Medify MA-40 and MA-18 is quite big, and while the Medify MA-Smart serves as a testing unit for high-end smart features, perhaps we will need a middle version of these two. The Medify MA-25 is this air purifier, bringing all the feeling from the familiar design to a much cheaper price.
And when Medify Air has bossed the budget air purifier market with three successive generations in just 1 year, we’re happy to welcome the Medify MA-25 as an option. The official price tag of this air purifier is $199, and if you follow our deal, the price tag could be much better, as low as only $165.
It’s well below the likes of the TruSens Z-2000 and Winix C545 in the U.S, and a little below the Honeywell HPA300. It’s also less than the Coway AP-1512HH and Blue Pure 211, which are the top-tier air purifiers for the below mid-range segment.
As those devices have shown to varying degrees, you can expect to get quite a lot of air purifiers for this sort of money. In particular, we’ve come to expect a certain flagship flavor when it comes to design and feel, alongside a couple of stand-out features.
The Medify MA-25 fits the mold with a dependable all-round package and a suitably modern design, but it only really stands out for one particular reason. Thankfully, it’s quite an appealing one.

Medify MA-25 Design and Size
The Medify MA-25 design has undeniably been heavily influenced by the Medify MA-40, both front and back. It has the rectangular shape for its body, albeit with no base that makes the device a little bit less firm than the bigger brother.
This isn’t truly Medify Air’s own distinctive design approach. In fact, this design is applied a lot in many Korean air purifier models, from Samsung to Coway and especially, Winix. The Winix AM90 and Winix C545 are the perfect example of using this rectangular design.
The Medify MA-25 is a lot more compact than its previous big brother, with the height of only 13.5 inches and the width of 8 inches. If you have checked a lot of air purifiers, you can easily recall many low-range budget air purifiers under $100 to have even bigger size than our today reviewed unit. Some people will enjoy the more compact air purifier, because they can put it on tabletop or night stand.
This Medify MA-25 will use a signature, strange air flow direction, as the polluted air will come from dual side air intakes, then the clean air is released from the front air outlet. This unconventional air flow system concept is quite unique, though it is suitable for a tabletop model, it will ask a more advanced fan power. Something that I don’t believe the Medify MA-25 to have.
For the first time I look at the tempered glass control panel of the MA-40 model, actually I don’t feel anything. Hey, even the flagship Medify MA-112 doesn’t have such feature in design. But if Medify Air really wants to advertise about such difference, especially in this new Medify MA-25, maybe we should be more serious about such feature. A glass panel is prone to be scratch-resistant, but this isn’t a sapphire glass so you shouldn’t expect much. Well, it looks premium than simple plastic, but I may prefer it over a black color option, just like the MA-40.
Medify Air produces two versions of the Medify Air, one is our testing unit with white color, and another to be the black version of this device. If you enjoy the more polished and premium black color option of Medify MA-40, you can get it below.
This is a very lightweight air purifier of Medify Air, as the Medify MA-25 is only 8.5 lbs. You can move it anywhere in your home easily.

Medify MA-25 Filters
It seems all air purifier companies are removing the ionizer for new products in 2020. Airthereal, Hathaspace and now Medify Air, are stop using such feature in the latest devices. So to say, in this Medify MA-25, you only have a simple 3-stage air cleaning system.
- Pre-filter – A layer of pre-filter covers the True HEPA filter, to prolong the life time of the core filter, by trapping the large objects of pollutants like fur, hair and large dust.
- True HEPA filter – The True HEPA Filter (graded H13) that captures 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and fungi particles.
- Activated Carbon filter – Uses substantial carbon filter with carbon pellets to remove toxic odors and formaldehyde.
Medify Air describes the Medify MA-25 as dual air intake with two sets of 3-in-1 filters. Its fan power draws the polluted air from both sides, so it uses double the air filtration system to increase efficiency. Again, the Medify MA-25 runs a H13 True HEPA filter, to capture even the allergens down to 0.1 microns. Actually, a H13 HEPA filter is only capable of dealing with particles as small as 0.3 microns. Cleaning a particle down to 0.1 microns in size is technically possible, but somewhat unlikely in a consumer-grade product.
Medify MA-25 is tested in a 150-sq-ft room of Breathe Quality’s lab, in 1 full hour. The air purifier ran against the Winix P300 and Blueair Sense+, and the final result was Medify MA-25 just scored 99.9% efficiency for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns. However, such result is better than the Oreck Air Response Medium, even when the Medify MA-25 costs the same as the inferior Oreck Air Response Small.
One main downside for using a Medify Air air purifier is the very high annual filter cost. You need to pay $49 for a set of two air filters of Medify MA-25, and the filter is suggested to use in 3-4 months, to comply the Lifetime Warranty of Medify Air. So to say, the annual cost can be as high as $196…

Medify MA-25 Room Coverage
The benefit of using Medify MA-25 is clear, it is suggested to use in a room of 500 square feet by the manufacturer. Sadly, if you look into its CADR rating, perhaps the Medify MA-25 should be used in a much smaller space.
The ACH of Medify MA-25 is 1X to 4X. If the Medify MA-25 does only one exchange in 1 hour, it can cover a space of 1000 square feet. And for an ACH rating of 4X, the room coverage is just only 250 square feet.
The CADR of Medify MA-25 is 147 cfm in general. Remember that Medify Air used m3/h for air flows unit, which they just said “CADR 250”.

Medify MA-25 Sound
Running a portable tabletop air purifier is highly recommended in bedroom, because generally it will generate less noise. With a fairly low-power fan, the Medify MA-25 is only 35 decibels (db) on lowest speed, and I believe this is just the noise level of the library mode.
On highest speed, the noise level only reaches 51 decibels, which is a lot better than many air purifiers with the same fan power, like Levoit LV-PUR131 or RENPHO RP-AP001.

Medify MA-25 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
The power consumption of our reviewed Medify MA-25 is only 25 watts, which is just like the Medify MA-14 – an Energy Star product. Perhaps, I need to check the Energy Star certification for this product, and I will update as soon as possible.
If you run the Medify MA-25 for 8 hours per day, it would cost you only $9 each year.

Medify MA-25 Additional Features
Medify MA-25 is the next-gen product of the Medify MA-14 or Medify MA-18, so it has many additional features to show off. As an air purifier for bedroom, it has a Dimmer setting, to get your room in a complete darkness. Also, there is a basic Timer so you can schedule the time off for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours.
Medify MA-25 still gets a Child lock function, to prevent any changes of settings made accidentally by your children or pets.
Finally, we have a LED indicator for filter replacement. It is really helpful because we need to change the filter regularly to be covered by Medify Air’s Lifetime warranty.
The Medify MA-25 doesn’t have any smart features, though, so you should look for the Medify MA-Smart for these high-end things.
Medify MA-25 Customer Service
Medify Air is a well-known air purifier company, especially in Amazon for some obvious reasons, and one being the excellent customer service. They provide easy access from both phone at 302-659-8104, and email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Medify Air also guarantees your air purifier to be free of defects in material or workmanship for a lifetime period. To start the lifetime warranty, you need to submit a warranty registration within first 30 days, and commit to change genuine Medify Air’s filter every 4 months, 6 months or 1 year (depending on the product), as well as strictly follow the manual guide of Medify Air.
If you want to return the product, you must do it within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt. Remember to include the original box and packaging materials.
The Medify MA-25 is the latest in an increasingly long line of an U.S based air purifier company to offer H13 True HEPA filter at an affordable price point. It’s good, compact and it has an unique style that you can’t get from other air purifiers.
However, the Medify MA-25 has a couple of shortfalls, as its annual filter cost replacement is really, really high for a low-range product. The fan power is quite decent, but you shouldn’t use it in a room of 500 square feet, or you will notice a slightly less efficiency than you would expect.
- Cleaning Power
- Power Consumption
Despite of its shortfall, the Medify MA-25 is still recommended with H13 True HEPA filter.
