The air purifier is great, with top-end tech and a budget price combining to produce an air purifier that can compete with some of the very best air purifiers out there, most notably the Blue Pure 411 Auto and Winix A230. Levoit Core 200S Price

The Levoit Core 200S is essentially the Core 300 reprised, but in a smaller form factor that will suit those looking for a more compact air purifier to use in their bedroom. It isn’t perfect with its lower fan power, but if you can put those negatives aside, you’ll love what the Levoit Core 200S can do in its miniature package.

The smart feature is one of the core factors in our best air purifiers list today. An air purifier needs to run 24/7 in our very bad situation, so the Smart Sensor is necessary to keep your energy low and your environment clean. Sadly, the Levoit Core 200S doesn’t have an air sensor to be a triumph like the Winix A230 and Blue Pure 411 Auto do. Perhaps we should wait for the Levoit Core 300S, which could have the upgraded laser air sensor just like the newest Levoit Core 400S.

At $89, the Levoit Core 200S, like the old and exciting Levoit LV-H132 or Vista 200, may be the cheapest smart air purifier on the market.This air purifier can connect to Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa for easy hands-free control.

It may feel like a Levoit for the nostalgic, but it’s anything but when it comes to specs. However, with the introduction of other fantastic portable smart air purifiers such as the Blue Pure 411 Auto and Winix A230, I believe it will be much easier to find a good air purifier for less money.

Levoit Core 200S Design and Size

The Levoit Core 200S’s mini design is its unique selling point, and it’s a welcome alternative for those who want a smaller Levoit Core 300 and who’ve looked on in dismay as Levoit has released ever-larger devices (but also don’t want the dated-looking design of the Levoit LV-H132).

It essentially mirrors the Core 300’s design but in a smaller body that’s easier to cover a typical bedroom in the U.S., and despite the smaller size, the air purifier still manages to pack a height of 12.6 inches (yes, it’s shorter than any other Levoit cylindrical models).

At 12.6 x 8.1 x 8.1 inches, it’s one of the smallest air purifiers made by this American manufacturer, just bigger than the portable Levoit LV-H128. It’s also light, but not too light at 6.6 lbs.You can easily bring the air purifier anywhere in your home, but the Core 200S doesn’t feel cheap.

It may seem obvious, but if you’re looking for a small, cylindrical air purifier and you hate to manually control it, the Levoit Core 200S is nearly instant, besides the Blue Pure 411 Auto (which is slightly better in my opinion).

Other than that, it is the same air purifier with a bottom-to-top airflow system concept, a panel display with minor tweaks, and a highlighted Night Light mode. The Levoit Core 200S is simple to change the air filter on and get started.

Levoit Core 200S Filters

Levoit is pretty solid at keeping its air filtration method 100% ozone-free, using a simple but effective 3-stage air cleaning system.

1. Pre-filter – This nylon pre-filter is able to capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers, hair, and pet fur. You need to vacuum this filter regularly because it is only effective for a short time.
2. True HEPA filter – Levoit Core 200S uses a True HEPA filter to reduce 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns of allergens, virus particles, pollen, and bacteria particles.
3. Activated Carbon Filter – This Activated Carbon filter tackles smoke and odors from the kitchen, your pets, or even the outdoors.

At less than $10 compared with the Levoit Core 300, Levoit doesn’t give us the option to customize the air filter yet. But at its core is still the highly efficient True HEPA filter, which can clean your air of tiny contaminants.

The Levoit Core 200S is tested in the same conditions as its predecessors: in a room of 100 square feet for 1 hour. This is also the test I made for some “more expensive” air purifiers like the Winix A230, Okaysou AirMax8L, or Core 300, but as you can see, the Core 200S performed pretty well at trapping 99.9% of all airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 microns.

The new and suitable air filter for this new model is the Core 200-RF. You can get the genuine filter for only $19, and I recommend you track the filter condition on your phone app. Normally, you need to change the filter every 6–8 months for optimal performance.

Levoit Core 200S Room Coverage

Levoit Core 200S utilizes more fan power than any of its predecessors. It is built for anyone who has smaller rooms than the Core 300 but wants higher fan power than the rest of the old models. Its effective room coverage is 183 square feet, as suggested by the manufacturer.

The ACH of Levoit Core 200S is 5X. This Levoit Core 200S can clean a small room a lot better than the Vista 200, up to 5 times per hour.

The CADR of Levoit Core 200S is 109 Dust/ 98 Smoke/ 104 Pollen (cfm). Such performance is at least three times that of the old LV-H132.

Levoit Core 200S Sound

As a bedroom-centric air purifier, the Levoit Core 200S has a phenomenally low noise level while operating, reducing to only 24 decibels (dB) on Sleep Mode. It is thanks to the good AC motor inherited from the Core 300 that the noise level is quieter than a whisper, and therefore it is better than even the Vista 200.

The high speed of this Levoit Core 200S is only 48 decibels, which is a bit better than the previous Core model. You will hear sounds, but they are too low to disturb you.

Levoit Core 200S Power Consumption

An air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be more efficient, making the high-priority question in Breathe Quality: “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” To know the answer, we will need to check the power consumption of this air purifier.

Levoit Core 200S won’t ask you much for energy, which isn’t a surprise for an Energy Star air purifier. The bedroom-centric air purifier needs only 37 watts to operate, and the standby power is less than 0.8 watts.

If you use the Levoit Core 200S for at least 8 hours per day, it would cost you only $13 per year.

Levoit Core 200S Additional Features

On paper, the Levoit Core 200S’s additional features are very good, though it doesn’t have an air sensor to compete with things like the Winix A230 or Blue Pure 411 Auto. But the newest Levoit Core 400S will feature a laser air sensor, which is certainly more accurate than any normal air sensor.

It is still great to use voice control to turn on your air purifier or change the fan speed, however, and there are enough tweaks to justify the next-gen billing. So, again, you won’t feel cheap when using the Levoit Core 200S. Its VeSync app is available on both iOS and Android.

The Levoit Core 200S has a simple timer and a fantastic Night Light feature for use in the bedroom. Moreover, you can keep track of your air filter’s life as well as create schedules to buy new air filters. That’s great.

Well, for a new air purifier, the Levoit Core 200S does its job perfectly. It still needs the highlighted Smart Sensor to be one of the best air purifiers, but the built-in Wi-Fi capability is a good start.
