Levoit EverestAir Air Purifier: Trusted Review & SpecsLevoit EverestAir

Levoit again launched an attempt in the mid-range to even high-range air purifiers with the newest flagship – Levoit EverestAir. The second attempt of Levoit seems to correct a lot of mistakes from the previous Levoit LV-H134, but it is against many highly recommended air purifiers from Breathe Quality. In this Levoit EverestAir Review, we will find out if we can love this air purifier just like we did with the Levoit Core 600S or Levoit Core 300S.

Levoit EverestAir ranks A- in our air purifier ranking list. We give the biggest and most thorough database of air purifier reviews in the world.

In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:

  • We provide honest reviews (both pros and cons) so that everyone can make the best decisions.
  • We do not (and never will) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.

Levoit has been the best air purifier in the U.S, according to sales, even before our critic review of the Levoit Core 300. It does best at improving its line of products, and the Levoit EverestAir is its big entry into the growing roster of super-premium, super-pricey air purifiers. No longer being a low-range air purifier brand anymore, will the latest flagship do any good? Let’s find out in our today Levoit EverestAir Review.

Levoit EverestAir Price

The Levoit EverestAir is the company’s second foray into the larger pond. The first Levoit LV-H134 originally priced at $399, didn’t get the success that Levoit wanted. This time, thanks to the experience that the company has with the Levoit Core 600S, it rebuilt an air purifier with a high-quality build, top-tier smart features and more fan power for a decent price in the mid-range.

It’s Levoit’s first member of this premium tier, as the Levoit EverestAir costs $499 at launch, which is a close rival to the Rabbit Air MinusA2. Like many other air purifiers from many other companies, the Levoit EverestAir is vying to knock the Rabbit Air off the top spot on our list of the best air purifiers.

However, even with better fan power on specs paper, does the Levoit EverestAir actually come close to the MinusA2’s ranking. It would be hard to compete against the Sharp FX-J80UW, which I see as having reduced price.

Well, the room for better-ranking air purifiers in mid-range and high-range is still a lot for newcomers. However, to rival these aforementioned air purifiers, the Levoit EverestAir can’t just get away with only an eye-watering price (well, it can’t beat Sharp). So, let’s scroll down for other aspects.

Levoit EverestAir Design and Size

Once again, the Levoit EverestAir changes the traditional design concept as the newer flagship of Levoit, and this time it does change with more metal than plastic. If you didn’t impress with the build of the old LV-H134, the Levoit EverestAir will.

As a console air purifier that is many times more expensive than the previous Levoit LV-PUR131, the Levoit EverestAir is bigger and heavier. It’s not one for the faint of heart or small of home, certainly.

The Levoit EverestAir measures 18.9 x 8.5 x 24.5 inches, so it’s hefty if you’re familiar with the small console ones from Levoit. But if you were expecting anything else at this price then I’m sorry because such size is required to hold more air filters.

Despite the size, the curved sides trim the overall shape of the air purifier, as the Levoit EverestAir is meant to be placed against a wall and matches any decor. The Levoit EverestAir resembles many Winix air purifiers with an air inlet in front of the device. Such placement won’t block the airflow when this air purifier is placed against the wall or kitchen bar.

However, there is a flaw in the design, as the position of the air sensor is a bit far from the air inlet. While this placement avoids the sensor from dust (which is typical problems for many air purifiers), it delivers the reading a bit false. At least Levoit EverestAir’s patent air sensor is good, unlike other cheap products.

A big fan is housed inside this air purifier, and it is enough to deliver a smooth bottom-to-top airflow system concept. The aerodynamic air duct is the fundamental core of an air purifier, and with an air purifier with only 24 inches in height like the Levoit EverestAir, the output airflow will be much stronger. There are 4 different vent angles to select from on the EverestAir, so you can direct the air output anywhere in your home.

The control panel’s position is fixed between Levoit products, on top of the air purifier. In the Levoit EverestAir, as well as other Levoit air purifiers with lots of features, the control panel is full of buttons. For a premium air purifier with a remote control like the Levoit EverestAir, I don’t like this mass of buttons.

Like I said earlier, the Levoit EverestAir is hefty, especially because I still have a Levoit Core 600S around to compare. At 20.3 lbs, the Levoit EverestAir really needs some casters for mobility.

Levoit EverestAir Filters

By checking the amount of air filters, as well as the air filter types are used, we can have an overview of how good the air purifier is. Levoit EverestAir, being a console air purifier, breaks down its air filtration system into 3 separate stages.

  1. Pre-filter – Using the washable preliminary filter, Levoit EverestAir is able to capture most of the large objects like dust, hair, lint, fibers, and pet fur at the first stage of its air filtration process.
  2. True HEPA filter – Levoit EverestAir uses a H13 True HEPA Filter to reduce 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns of allergens, virus particles, pollen, and bacteria particles.
  3. Activated Carbon Filter – The custom high-efficiency Activated Carbon filter (ARC formula) is especially effective for cooking smells and pet odors in a multi-pet household.

Levoit EverestAir truly wants to be the next Rabbit Air MinusA2, looking at how it positions the air filters. By separating the air filter, the Levoit EverestAir can prolong the main HEPA filter longer than a usual all-in-one air filter, but it increases the risk of improperly installing air filters.

Levoit names its next-gen air filtration system HEPASmart technology, which is a kind of gimmick similar to the HEPASilent technology of Blueair. It is the same core as the H13 HEPA filter, and I don’t see any improvement between the new filter and the previous models, to be honest.

It is still the tradition of Levoit products to only offer air purifiers with mechanical filters (however, we’ve tested a new product named Levoit PlasmaPro 400S with an ionizer function). It is the easiest option to obtain CARB (California Air Resources Board) certification for air purifiers that comply with the 0.050 parts per million ozone emission limit (ppb).

Performance wise, the Levoit EverestAir cleans as quickly as you could expect, matching the same performance of the Sharp FX-J80UW, and it is even better than Airmega 300S and Alen BreatheSmart Classic, despite being cheaper. It can clean 99.93% of all particles as small as 0.3 microns in a 400-square-foot room in one hour, which is quite impressive.

And you can enjoy a decent annual filter cost as the new filter from Levoit EverestAir can hold up for longer, up to 12 months of use. At the moment, you can buy it for $99, which is nearly 1.5 times the cost of the Core 600S’s filter.

Levoit EverestAir Room Coverage

As the latest flagship from the manufacturer, the Levoit EverestAir must show off great room coverage. The manufacturer’s recommended room size, however, is not as reliable as the AHAM, as it was with the Levoit Core 600S previously. Yes, the Levoit EverestAir is suggested for rooms up to 1395 square feet.

The ACH of Levoit EverestAir is 2X to 4X. Energy Star suggests running it on 563 square feet, which Levoit EverestAir will clean 4 times per hour, every 15 minutes.

The CADR of Levoit EverestAir is 365 Dust/ 363 Smoke/ 428 Pollen (cfm). I feel like this is exactly the same fan power being used for the Levoit Core 600S. Perhaps I will get one for a tear-down experiment whenever my financial balance approves…

Levoit EverestAir Sound

The large fan of the Levoit EverestAir really does resemble the Levoit Core 600S, as it runs very quietly at its lowest speed. In fact, the sound level of the Levoit EverestAir can be as low as 24 decibels (dB). You won’t believe it when we say that this flagship air purifier is quieter than other Levoit compact models. 24 dB means you won’t notice it running.

On high fan power, the noise level fluctuates around 52 decibels (dB), which is pretty much the common noise level for an ultra-quiet air purifier. It is perhaps even better than the newest Rabbit Air A3, which is an iconic air purifier for ultra-quiet technology.

Levoit EverestAir Power Consumption

A good air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be more efficient, making the high-priority question in Breathe Quality: “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” To know the answer, we will need to check the power consumption of this air purifier.

The new Levoit EverestAir, like its brothers, receives Energy Star certification for its impressive energy efficiency for high fan power. With its maximum rated power of 70 watts, the Levoit EverestAir does have a good CADR/power ratio.

Again, I recommend running this Levoit EverestAir 24/7 for the best performance. If you run it only 8 hours per day, you only need to pay $25 annually.

Levoit EverestAir Additional Features

In our ranking list, we consider “Smart features” as an important criterion along with “Performance” and “Annual Cost”. The additional features department is clearly where Levoit is focusing with the next-gen air purifiers in the Core series, starting with the Levoit Core 200S. Developing time and time again, here we go with the Levoit EverestAir, fully operated by Wi-Fi.

Levoit EverestAir provides everything you could want in a high-end air purifier. You can control the air purifier with voice commands, or set timers, manage settings, and check the life of your filters easily with your smartphone’s VeSync app. The app connection with the Levoit EverestAir is as good as the Core 600S.

Levoit EverestAir only employs a laser dust sensor, which allows it to read the PM values of PM1.0, 2.5 and 10. The auto mode activates its fan power to meet the demands when it detects the amount of airborne particles in your home.

There is also a light sensor to automatically adjust the air purifier settings based on whether your room is dark or not. If it doesn’t sense light, the display will turn off, and the air purifier will keep running in Sleep Mode to avoid making too much noise.

Other features like the timer, vent oscillation, and setting memory are also included in the Levoit EverestAir. Yes, this Levoit device should be considered one of the best smart air purifiers.

Finally, we have a LED indicator for filter replacement.

Levoit EverestAir Customer Service

Levoit is a brand that strongly focuses on its customers and community. If you buy one of its products, you will receive everything you need to set it up and run it. Negative customer service reviews are almost nonexistent.

There is only one thing: it gives a basic 1-year warranty. To get an additional 1-year warranty, you need to have some free registration. It is easy, and everyone is willing to sign up for another year of warranty. It seems newer products are getting a 2-year warranty by default.

Our verdict

Levoit’s EverestAir once escaped our interest for testing, as the Levoit Core 600S is truly a game changer, and the new air purifier is $200 more expensive, too. By all accounts, this Levoit EverestAir is a good mid-range air purifier. It has a premium design, though not flawless, and strikes a balance between performance, smart features, and annual cost. not to mention the Energy Star rating.

It ticks all the boxes of a top-end air purifier, and I see it as the first true flagship of the brand. However, it doesn’t do anything to get ahead. We have the same 2-year warranty as Levoit’s budget devices, which is not the worst but also not the best.
