There is a phenomenal air purifier to made using ionizer with low cost, but this Envion Ionic Pro Platinum (TA750) just isn’t it. Though it looks much different to what’s come before, and design is always the selling point of Ionic Pro series, low performance for high cost kills the air purifier right away. Envion is the most active subsidiary of the well-known Swiss air purifier brand Boneco, and their Ionic Pro series is also the most popular one, thanks to the concept of filterless air purifiers with low cost. Being the flagship of this series, the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is expected to have high performance, especially when its price increases more than 50%. Okay, let’s read our Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Review immediately for an answer.
Other Envion’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Price
The Envion Ionic Pro Platinum’s history starts, unsurprisingly, with the transformation of the Ionic Pro Turbo. When it launched, many had high hopes for it to be the device that rivaled the Honeywell AirGenius 5, or more ambitiously, reached the performance of the Honeywell AirGenius 6.
Unfortunately, sales never really bore this out, and it seems people don’t like the design concept of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum that much. For the performance, the Envion flagship can’t compare with Honeywell‘s AirGenius series, too.
New additional features is also one of the biggest changes, though the most obvious general use will probably be like the predecessors of this series, which involves in an air purifier with super ease of use.
The price of this Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is around $199, which is even higher than some old flagships of Therapure series like Envion Therapure TPP440 or Envion Therapure TPP540. The only devices in this family with higher cost are the Envion Therapure TPP640 and Envion Four Seasons FS200.
At $199, the competition is so high that we can’t see the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum as one possible challenger. Top air purifier brands are selling very well in this segment, with contribution of Coway AP-1512HH, Honeywell HPA300 or Levoit LV-H133. With deals, you can also buy the Blueair Classic 205 or Winix AM90 with lower cost than $199. Considering the top-notch performance of all these air purifiers, I believe that no one will choose the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum instead.
And that’s sad for a flagship of a big air purifier brand. But hey, I still find one deal for this air purifier, so you can grab it if you are truly want an Envion flagship. But get it quickly.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Design and Size
The Envion Ionic Pro Platinum looks completely different from its predecessors, be it the Ionic Pro CA200 or Ionic Pro Turbo. It still keeps the all matt-black finish on the whole body, as well as the tower design concept, but that’s it, you can’t see any more similarities between those products.
For an unknown reason, Envion trimmed the height of the flagship back to the common 25.7 inches. It also looks like the console version of Allergy Pro series, but in tower concept. Envion also removed the base of this air purifier, which is equally as bad for this, it really is a total nightmare to keep the device firm on the ground, especially when you have kids.
Interestingly, while the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum uses the common back-to-front air flow system concept, its design is quite like a console air purifier, thus it separates back and front parts. Above the back body with air inlet, we will have handle to lift the collector blades out, mainly for cleaning.
The top control panel is the most highlighted part of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum, which is leaned forward just like the popular Winix 5500-2. It packs with more functional buttons, as well as a new LED display screen. It makes the control panel nicer to use than before.

The best part? Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is only 8.8 lbs, and you can move it easily with the back handle.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Filters
Even for a flagship like Envion Ionic Pro Platinum, the air purifier will use only one filter for the system as below.
- Ionizer – Traps the airborne pollutants by positively charged them with negative ions, which complies the standard safety of CARB completely.
For the flagship, we can see the clear difference in terms of performance, compared with the predecessors. In a same test, within a room of 150 square feet, I found the performance of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum to be 92% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns. This is also the same performance measured from the Therapure TPP240 – once flagship of Therapure series in Envion family.
Most importantly, the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum doesn’t require any filter replacement. However, you still need to clean the collector blades at least once per month, or whenever the indicator goes blue to warn you.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Room Coverage
Envion Ionic Pro Platinum keeps the same suggested room coverage from the previous Ionic Pro Turbo, to be 500 square feet. Again, I feel the room coverage as ridiculous as the previous model, as the CADR rating of this air purifier is truly low.
The ACH of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is 3x. This air purifier will exchange the fresh air in your room every 20 minutes.
The CADR of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is 108 Dust/ 107 Smoke/ 116 Pollen (cfm).

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Sound
Now, you may be wondering about the noise level of this Envion Ionic Pro Platinum, considering that other air purifiers of this Ionic Pro series have claimed to be “completely silent operation”. Indeed, the statement is quite true, as the Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is only an ionizer, and it doesn’t require much fan power to operate. As a result, the noise level of this air purifier is only 34 decibels (db), the same as the noise level of whisper, and you won’t notice any sound from the device.
On highest speed, the noise level is measured to be only 52 decibels, and it is quite like the normal conversation at home between two people. It is audible, but it is fairly quiet.
However, the nature of an ionizer will create some crackling noise from the ions, which isn’t a good experience for many people. Also, as stated in the manual, Envion suggests to clean the collector blades often, because dirty blade is one main reason for the buzzing sound of this Envion Ionic Pro Platinum.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.
The rated power of Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is just the same as the Envion Ionic Pro Turbo, being only 17 watts at the maximum. Of course, with such low fan power, you must expect your air purifier to keep the energy consumption to be as low as possible, right? This air purifier also gains the Energy Star rating, just like the Envion Allergy Pro AP200. Also, the power consumption can go as low as just 9 watts.
Running an Envion Ionic Pro Platinum for 8 hours per day, and you need to pay $3-$6 each year.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Additional Features
The Envion Ionic Pro Platinum is the flagship of the whole Ionic Pro for a clear reason, it is the only device in this series with some basic additional features. For a $200 air purifier, I believe these additional features can’t help the device much to compete with others like Blueair Sense+ or AeraMax 300, but it is far much better than any of its predecessors.
It has a basic Timer to help you schedule the time off for the device, which is programmable up to 24 hours. You will have another button to dim the control panel light, which is helpful for using in the bedroom.
Finally, we will have a LED indicator for cleaning purpose. If the blue light goes on, you will know that the device needs to be cleaned, or the unit is experiencing other problem. Whatever the problem is, you should turn off the device immediately.

Envion Ionic Pro Platinum Customer Service
Envion is a subsidiary of the Swiss brand Boneco, a big air purifier brand with exceptional customer service. You can call the support for any Envion products toll free at 800-875-8577. This is the quickest way to reach the customer service, but if you prefer email, their contact is customerservice@envionproducts.com.
You will only enjoy the warranty for the first year since purchase date, and you need to pay for any shipping and processing fee that occur. 1-year warranty is not as good as many other big brands (even Boneco own products have better warranty policy), but it is still better than nothing, right?

Our verdict
Envion Ionic Pro Platinum has closed the series of ionizer in Envion family, however, with a ridiculous price for such low performance. Perhaps you will buy this air purifier 10 years ago, but right now, with the development of better air purifiers, the flagship of Ionic Pro series just simply isn’t worth the money.
