Envion Therapure TPP630 Price

The Envion Therapure TPP630 is another air purifier to confuse consumers who recognize the once-great name in an air purifier – but does it have hidden treasures below the numerical moniker?

Sadly, the Envion name doesn’t offer the best air purifier on low-range market at the moment. Their air purifiers come with only HEPA-type air filter, and most air purifiers don’t have any fancy additional features to compete with the modern devices. Even for the Envion Therapure TPP630, which is a decent device among its brothers, it loses pretty hard against the latest GermGuardian devices, for example GermGuardian AC5350B or GermGuardian CDAP4500BCA.

So, with the official price tag of $129, the Envion Therapure TPP630 is hard to sell. It can’t compete with even its own siblings: the Envion Allergy Pro AP200 or Envion Four Seasons FS200. Yes, I must admit this is the end for the whole famous Therapure series in the past.

I also feel like the Swiss brand Boneco just acquired the name Envion to gain the advantage on low-range market, and I don’t think they will improve the Envion series anymore. Somehow if you own an Envion device, it’s a gamble.

The low-range market is now filling with a lot of potential products to be a flagship-killer, like the Airthereal APH260, GermGuardian AC5600, Levoit LV-PUR131 or RENPHO RP-AP001. If you love the tower design, the Envion Therapure series is still not the best you can get, as you can always look for any GermGuardian tower models.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Design and Size

The design is, at least, fairly pleasant, with the same tower design you can get from the Therapure TPP640. It stands nicely in your room in a way that it looks almost like a speaker. Again, I want to say that the materials feel more premium than the previous model, and it has a good balance to it so it doesn’t give the sensation of a shoddy build.

Of course, if you have read my review of Therapure TPP640, you can skip this section entirely. The Envion Therapure TPP630 has a height of 25 inches and a width of 7.5 inches. It is very light at 9.6 lbs, and with the convenient built-in handle, you can carry this air purifier anywhere.

It is bigger than the Therapure TPP620, but the Envion Therapure TPP630 runs the same back-to-front air flow system concept, with very large air outlet, to exploit full of its potential fan power.

Envion Therapure TPP630 may resemble the Therapure TPP640’s size, but it is similar to the previous TPP620 in function. So you will have the same top control panel like the old device, with one knob and one button.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Filters

Normally, we will look at the quality and quantity of air filters to decide the performance of one air purifier, as well as the air filter types, to decide its performance. The Envion Therapure TPP630 remains the signature 4-stage air cleaning system of the Therapure series, which is similar to the Therapure TPP230.

1. Pre-filter – First is a cleanable pre-filter, which can help remove the hair, fur and large dust in the air.
2. HEPA-type filter – It is not a True HEPA filter, and the quality is much inferior. It is able to capture mold, smoke, germs, bacteria, viruses, common allergens, pet dander & odor from the air in your home.
3. UV-C light filter – The Envion Therapure TPP630 can kill germs, bacteria and viruses with the UV lamp. It is certified by California Air Resources Board (CARB) for ozone emissions under safety.
4. Photocatalyst filter – A material to support the UV light filter in removing dangerous gasses and toxic Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from the air.

The Envion Therapure TPP630 represents the iconic air cleaning system of the Therapure series, with a combination of HEPA filter and UV-C light to trap the allergens and kill the biological particles like viruses, mold spores and germs. It has a Photocatalyst filter to enhance the performance of the UV-C light.

I believe the performance of this sixth-gen Envion Therapure TPP630 could match with any flagships of old generation, like the Therapure TPP240, Therapure TPP440 and Therapure TPP540. In the same test of 150 square feet, and duration of 1 hour, the Envion Therapure TPP630 trapped 93% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. However, it was a lot behind the performance of newer air purifiers like Vornado AC350, Vornadobaby Purio or Levoit Core P350.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Room Coverage

Envion Therapure TPP630 is suggested to use in a room of 300 square feet by the manufacturer. It is the basic room size for any Therapure tower air purifiers.

The ACH of Envion Therapure TPP630 is 3x. It can exchange the air in your room every 20 minutes.

The CADR of Envion Therapure TPP630 is 137 Dust/ 129 Smoke/ 145 Pollen (cfm). Well, such performance is exactly the same as the more expensive Therapure TPP640.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Sound

Noise level is still a problem for using any Envion air purifiers. If you use the Envion Therapure TPP630, make sure not to turn on the highest fan speed while sleeping. It will be a lot noisier than other air purifiers in the same price range, for example the GermGuardian AC5250PT.

I’ve measured the noise level of this Envion Therapure TPP630 to be 62 decibels (db) at maximum, which can be compared with the conversation in public, like in office.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.

While the Envion Therapure TPP630 isn’t certified by the Energy Star anymore, it was once rated by this organization, for an energy-saving performance. In fact, the rated power of this air purifier is just only 54 watts.

Running an Envion Therapure TPP630 for 8 hours per day, and you need to pay $20 each year.

Envion Therapure TPP630 Additional Features

As I’ve said earlier, the Envion Therapure TPP630 is just the bigger Therapure TPP620, so it doesn’t have any additional features beside an UV control button and a knob to change fan speeds. Well, I advise you to check the Okaysou AirMax8L, Rowenta Intense Pure Air PU4020 or Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier for more necessary air purifier features.

Or you can jump to the Envion Therapure TPP640, which gives you the same performance as our today Therapure TPP630, but costs $100 more for the additional features. In my opinion, it isn’t worth the extra cash.

This is the quickest way to reach the customer service, but if you prefer email, their contact is customerservice@envionproducts.com.

You will only enjoy the warranty for the first year since purchase date, and you need to pay for any shipping and processing fee that occur. 1-year warranty is not as good as many other big brands (even Boneco own products have better warranty policy), but it is still better than nothing, right?

Our verdict

Again, I don’t recommend to use the Envion Therapure TPP630, just like any Envion air purifiers anymore. Well, I don’t deny that this air purifier is the best pick among the latest generation of this once popular air purifier brand, but it clearly has no way to compete with other modern air purifiers. As you can see, the Envion Therapure TPP630 only has a HEPA-type air filter, and it can’t adsorb household odors without the Activated Carbon filter. It has a decent fan power, of course, but it is really noisy that no one can use it while sleeping.
