Despite it’s from a big air purifier brand, the Envion Therapure TPP50 isn’t a good option for you anymore. Yes, the most affordable air purifier from Therapure series is an easy to understand unit in terms of usability, but it has a very outdated air filtration system, which is not really value for the money. In our today Envion Therapure TPP50 Review, we will check the first Therapure model and how it works in real life.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
- Low power consumption
- Quiet operation
- Cleanable filter
- Little thought applied to good performance
- Overpriced UV-C lamp
Envion makes the first Therapure air purifier with similar concept of Envion Ionic Pro CA200, only changes the ionizer into an UV-C light filter. Well, if you want to see the result of this change, you should read our Envion Therapure TPP50 Review immediately.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Price
As in the pure air purifier manufacturer, which has gone out from the original Swiss company Boneco, Envion Therapure is the most successful series of this company, all thanks to its reasonable price and value.
The Envion Therapure TPP50 has a distinctive design concept from others in the same family, and it works well because the UV lamp is always available as a small plugged device. The price of Envion Therapure TPP50 is also the most affordable, with synergy to the size, as it is only $59 for both Black and White versions. For people who prefer the HEPA filter, you should get the Envion Therapure TPP100 instead, with the same cost. Or you can pay a little more for the Envion Therapure EA150.
This air purifier places itself as the direct competitor to the Hamilton Beach 04386 and Hamilton Beach 04384. You can also choose the budget air purifiers from top brands like GermGuardian AC4020, Honeywell HHT270W or Levoit LV-H126. As a personal air purifier itself, I also count the Airdog FitAir as the opponent of our today Envion Therapure Mini TPP50, but the price of this HEPA air purifier is nearly double.
As the competition is quite stiff, even with the low price, the Envion Therapure TPP50 isn’t a good option at the moment. However, if you like the concept of UV light only, you can still get the device from our below deal.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Design and Size
Though the Envion Therapure TPP50 design is quite different from the rest of the world, place this next to virtually any other air purifiers, and you’ll notice the visual problem straight away: the appearance of the Envion Therapure TPP50 is a step below. It looks rather cheap. I’ve never felt an air purifier with plastic build to be such cheap like this device, and charging it for $59 is quite… dull.
The device is too small to be called an air purifier. In fact, it is quite like a personal air purifier with this size, just 8.3 inches in height and 3.5 inches in width. Envion Therapure TPP50 comes with two color options: black and white. There’s no need for a separate color option in a budget device, but Envion did this. Though, these options don’t make the air purifier more attractive. Below, I will give you the deal for the black version.
Personally, I don’t like either the perforated holes or the large air grills. Without a proper air filter to pull in and out the air, I believe we don’t have a proper air flow system in this Envion Therapure TPP50. There aren’t any buttons, either, and you can operate the device with plugging in only.
Still, there are some highlights for the Envion Therapure TPP50. It has a good built-in cordless plug, to provide clean look. Also, the slim design allows this air purifier to be placed anywhere in your room.
This air purifier weighs only 0.77 lbs, and you can bring it to anywhere you like.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Filters
The Envion Therapure TPP50 is more likely an air sanitizer with only one filtration in the system.
- UV-C light filter – The Envion Therapure Mini TPP50 can kill germs, bacteria and viruses with the UV lamp. It is certified by California Air Resources Board (CARB) for ozone emissions under safety.
- Collection blade – It also serves a cleanable filter like the Ionic Pro series, to capture large pollutants like dust, hair and fur.
You may have heard of air purifiers running only UV lamp as a mean of killing bacteria and germs, right? If the UV lamp is tested strictly, it can purify the air and water without using any other chemicals, and thus won’t be harmful. The process is truly efficient in dealing with the infection of viruses or bacteria, but it can’t capture the actual particulate matters. That’s why I don’t make a normal test for this Envion Therapure TPP50 like its brothers.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Room Coverage
The Envion Therapure TPP50 is suggested to use in a room of 115 square feet, and considering its size, you shouldn’t use the device in a larger room.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Sound
If there is one advantage for using an air purifier with only UV light, it must be the silent operation of this air purifier. The Envion Therapure TPP50 is not an exception, and it’s certainly suggested to use in any room, providing that the room is not too big.
The noise level of this air purifier is measured to be only 30 decibels (db), which is the noise level of the whisper. You won’t notice any sound from the device, and the only way to find out the device works or not is by checking the gentle air flow by the air grills.
On highest speed, the noise level is recorded at only 40 decibels, and I bet that you can easily sleep on such noise level.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.
Personal air purifiers are expected to consume just as little energy as possible, and the power consumption of our today Envion Therapure TPP50 is only 8 watts.
Running an Envion Therapure TPP50 for 8 hours per day, and you need to pay $3 each year.

Envion Therapure TPP50 Additional Features
Envion is a brand of many old products, and actually I don’t expect much from the additional features of any air purifiers in this family. Well, the higher-end devices will pack more features, but the basic Envion Therapure TPP50, of course, won’t.
In fact, there is not even a single button in this air purifier. To stop using it, you must unplug the device from wall outlet.
Envion Therapure TPP50 Customer Service
Envion is a subsidiary of the Swiss brand Boneco, a big air purifier brand with exceptional customer service. You can call the support for any Envion products toll free at 800-875-8577. This is the quickest way to reach the customer service, but if you prefer email, their contact is email@example.com.
You will only enjoy the warranty for the first year since purchase date, and you need to pay for any shipping and processing fee that occur. 1-year warranty is not as good as many other big brands (even Boneco own products have better warranty policy), but it is still better than nothing, right?
Envion Therapure Mini TPP50 is more or less a commercial UV lamp, but it is overpriced for only one simple air filter like that.
Well, if you need a “real” air purifier, then you should buy the Envion Therapure TPP100 instead.
