Envion Therapure TPP230 Price
Indeed, Envion is ready to launch the flagship of their second generation air purifiers, with the launch of Envion Therapure TPP240. Our today Envion Therapure TPP230 is just a remnant of the past, while using the internal power of the flagship.
If you ask me the advantage of this Envion move, it is easily the down in official price while keeping the same performance as the more expensive device. Envion Therapure TPP230 costs you only $129, instead of $149 for the flagship Therapure TPP240. Actually, this air purifier is just a taller version of Therapure TPP220, and such change in size costs you $30 more.
Without the certified True HEPA filter, Envion Therapure TPP230 is not really a good opponent for this budget segment, especially when other tower air purifiers are more popular out there like GermGuardian AC5250PT, GermGuardian AC5300B and InvisiClean Aura II. Even in the Envion family, we can buy the Envion Allergy Pro AP200 with exactly $129, and you will have the True HEPA filter.
So to say, the Envion Therapure TPP230 is treading the same path as the Bionaire BAP535UV-U, and I can’t say it is a wise path in 2019. At least Holmes and Bionaire are making True HEPA filters for their old products, but what about Envion? Nothing happened.

Envion Therapure TPP230 Design and Size
Envion wants to keep the design from the previous Therapure TPP220, and just like many low-range air purifier companies, the tower design concept is much more preferable.
Despite of the clear change in dimension, the Envion Therapure TPP230 is 26 inches in height, we can see the device as a boring clone of the previous TPP220. It only has one white version, instead of 6 color options like the shorter brother.
Superficially, it’s rather uninspiring but very solidly built. The weight of Envion Therapure TPP230 is 10.3 lbs, making it stand firmly on the ground. The base is reassuringly heavy and positive and the handle is deeper giving a decent grip.
It still uses the back-to-front air flow system concept, with the back air inlet adding one locking latch for later filter replacement. The top control panel also includes of one power button, one UV control button and one knob to change the fan speeds.

Envion Therapure TPP230 Filters
The Envion Therapure TPP230 runs the same air filtration system as the previous Therapure TPP220, only with bigger air filters. Let’s take a look at the 3-stage air cleaning system of this air purifier.
- HEPA-type filter – It is not a True HEPA filter, and the quality is much inferior. It is able to capture mold, smoke, germs, bacteria, viruses, common allergens, pet dander & odor from the air in your home.
- UV-C light filter – The Envion Therapure TPP230 can kill germs, bacteria and viruses with the UV lamp. It is certified by California Air Resources Board (CARB) for ozone emissions under safety.
- Photocatalyst filter – A material to support the UV light filter in removing dangerous gasses and toxic Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from the air.
With bigger air filters and more powerful fan, the Envion Therapure TPP230 is expected to deliver better performance. I made the same test for this air purifier, in a room of 150 square feet and after 1 hour, to give you a clear comparison between Therapure TPP230 versus Therapure TPP220 and finally, Therapure TPP240. As you can see from the chart below, the Envion Therapure TPP230 ended up with efficiency of 90% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns. This result is even better than the classic air purifiers of Honeywell like Honeywell HFD280B or Honeywell HFD-120-Q.
This HEPA-type air filter is, again, said to be permanent, but you can get the filter replacement with our deal in case your air filter is damaged by unexpected reasons. The UV lamp needs to be changed after 12 months for effective operation.

The CADR of Envion Therapure TPP220 is 151 Dust/ 152 Smoke/ 159 Pollen (cfm).

Envion Therapure TPP230 Sound
Since the last Envion Therapure TPP220, it seems we can’t avoid the high noise level from Envion air purifiers anymore. They all make annoying noise, and I won’t recommend to use the Envion Therapure TPP230 in any places required silence.
The noise level of this Envion Therapure TPP230 is 60 decibels (db) at maximum, which is quite hard to accept. If you want to use this air purifier in your bedroom or the office, make sure to switch the dial to low setting.

Envion Therapure TPP230 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.
The power consumption of Envion Therapure TPP230 is 55 watts, with an additional 3 watts for the UV lamp. It is not the best energy-saving air purifier, but not the worst.
Running an Envion Therapure TPP230 for 8 hours per day, and you need to pay $20 each year.

Envion Therapure TPP230 Additional Features
Besides the power button and new UV control button, there is no additional feature for the Envion Therapure TPP230. You should look for the Winix C535, Winix 5300-2 or Levoit LV-PUR131 for better smart features.
That’s not to say it was a bad idea, an air purifier with ease of use in mind like Envion Therapure TPP230 is okay, but it does seem strange that it charged you for the money you can get a lot of fancy additional features, and it doesn’t provide any differences.
Envion Therapure TPP230 Customer Service
Envion is a subsidiary of the Swiss brand Boneco, a big air purifier brand with exceptional customer service. You can call the support for any Envion products toll free at 800-875-8577. This is the quickest way to reach the customer service, but if you prefer email, their contact is email@example.com.
You will only enjoy the warranty for the first year since purchase date, and you need to pay for any shipping and processing fee that occur. 1-year warranty is not as good as many other big brands (even Boneco own products have better warranty policy), but it is still better than nothing, right?
The Envion Therapure TPP230 packs some real fan power, but it is not a good air purifier for the money anymore. I guess you should pass the device as soon as possible, and check the Envion Therapure TPP540 instead.
