Besides Hathaspace, we can find a lot of Chinese retailers for air purifiers on Amazon, most notably Inofia and Elechomes.

This company only has one air purifier product, and despite of the popularity in U.S market, many people will have doubt for the minor brand. The Hathaspace air purifier is just like what we’ve expected from a budget device, it will have as many stages in air filtration system as advertised, but with a price tag as low as possible. You can buy this air purifier with $199 as stated in the official website, or get its price off with a deal in Breathe Quality below.

The latest selection of Hathaspace shares more than a passing resemblance to the popular Winix C535 and AeraMax 200, though we can still see the difference in design clearly. For the multiple-stage air cleaning system, we can look for the Airthereal APH260, InvisiClean Aura or SilverOnyx within the price range, too. Without the UV-C light filter, the Medify MA-18 is also a great alternative to our today air purifier.

Hathaspace HSP001 Design and Size

To those of you already up-to-date with the latest generation of air purifiers, the appearance of the Hathaspace air purifier should be easily differed from others. Whilst not marketed as its top-end “premium” device, and the fact that it is under cheap segment, the build quality is decent enough, yet avoids feeling unnecessarily bulky.

With the height of only 20 inches and the width of 13 inches, Hathaspace air purifier is smaller than an average console air purifier. Tipping the scales at 12 lbs, our today Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier can be brought anywhere in the house.

Hathaspace played it safe with the overall design of this air purifier, making a typical bottom-to-top air flow system concept. The polluted air will be pulled in through the stylish front plate, then the multiple-stage air filtration system, and finally released from the top air outlet. Simple, but useful.

We also have a colored LED display to show all information and status of the air purifier, as well as two lines of buttons below the screen. However, the placement of control panel is a big discomfort for everyone, especially when the height of Hathaspace air purifier is just only like a short fan. This design is also made for the Winix WAC9500, and as you can see, the Korean company must change the placement of buttons in later generations, like Winix 5300-2 or Winix 5500-2.

Multiple-stage air filtration system concept is not new in air purifier world. For budget devices, showing off as many as possible the stages to clean the air is a traditional marketing strategy, commonly found on popular ones like SilverOnyx, InvisiClean Aura, and to a lesser extent, GermGuardian AC5350B. However, making a real air purifier with lots of “actually” physical filters, maybe Hathaspace air purifier is the minority. In fact, you can only choose device from Winix or Coway to have such strong air filtration system.

When you first turn on the Hathaspace air purifier, you will enjoy the flow of air around the air purifier, similar to any air purifier with front plate to cover the air intake. Hathaspace’s Nano Cold Catalyst Filter is not just an ordinary pre-filter, it can also remove some chemicals, thanks to a thin layer of carbon paper inside. Then, this air purifier has two physical air filter layers: a common cellular carbon filter and an anti-microbial filter. And finally, the True HEPA filter is the main power, and together with the first three physical air filters, the Hathaspace air purifier can deliver the removal efficiency up to 99.97% for any ultra-fine particles.

Hathaspace once had the UV-C light filter, but it seems the company remove it on Hathaspace HSP001 completely, to make the device quite similar to the new Hathaspace HSP002.

The air filtration system is also backed up with the additional ionizer, to help increase the overall efficiency. Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier is certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for electrical safety and ozone emissions, so you don’t need to worry about it triggering asthma or any breathing issues.

To test the Hathaspace air purifier, I used a strict test in a small room coverage of only 100 square feet. I also compared the performance of this air purifier under 1 hour versus the most popular devices in the market like Levoit LV-H133 and InvisiClean Aura. The Hathaspace ended up with an impressive result, up to 99.93% for trapping any airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. However, with higher fan power, other air purifiers can clean much quicker than our today unit, with the highest efficiency of Levoit LV-H133 to be 99.97%.

Hathaspace HSP001 Room Coverage

Just like any other Chinese air purifier brands, Hathaspace gives to much credit for the large room coverage. They claim that you can use the air purifier in a room of 350 square feet, but I doubt that suggestion.

The ACH of Hathaspace air purifier is 2X. This air purifier has limited exchange of air to be twice per hour.

The CADR of Hathaspace air purifier is about 100 cfm in general. This CADR rating is quite lower than most air purifiers in the same price range, even lower than the other Chinese air purifiers like Inofia PM1619 or Elechomes UC3101.

Hathaspace HSP001 Sound

There is one advantage for all air purifier with low fan power: the happily low noise level. In the real world, we need to use the air purifier to improve our sleep, and running a loud fan may keep us awake the whole night.

Fortunately, the noise level of Hathaspace air purifier is as low as 18 decibels (db), which is even lower than the noise of rustling leaves. You won’t notice any sound from the lowest setting of this air purifier, and keeping the Hathaspace on low speed is recommended.

Even on highest speed, this air purifier is only running with 43 decibels – the noise level of the lowest setting in other expensive air purifiers. This noise level is, again, the noise level of library, and you just hear a slight sound from the device on.

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.

Back to the popular Hathaspace air purifier, we get the necessary Smart Sensor on it. An air sensor is always checking the indoor air quality, and give you feedback in real-time. Moreover, if you activate the Auto Mode, the Hathaspace air purifier will automatically adjust the fan speed to match the environment’s needs.

However, with such low fan power, you will always run this air purifier on highest speed. That being said, the Auto Mode and Smart Sensor is quite redundant to use.

To control this air purifier, you can use the in-box remote control. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries, which are not included in the air purifier package. I really like air purifier with remote control, especially because I personally hate the placement of this Hathaspace’s control panel. So, the remote control is really nice to have.

Other features to be included are the basic Timer and Sleep Mode. The Sleep Mode will turn the Hathaspace air purifier to the lowest setting, and turn off the Auto Mode function.

Finally, you will have LED indicator for filter replacement, just like any usual air purifiers.
