Other Okaysou’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Okaysou AirMax8L Price
Okaysou is a relative newcomer to the U.S air purifier market, but it hustled to become one of the major Chinese players in a crowded field. With the Okaysou AirMax8L, and later Okaysou AirMic4S, the company has found a way to marry quirky gimmicks with powerful devices for cheap price.
It’s hard to find much to dislike about the Okaysou AirMax8L – while some features could be better, like the fan power, they’re far from bad. Throw in the impressive design and great mechanical filtration system, and you’ve got a fantastic air purifier, particularly given its budget price tag.
The Okaysou AirMax8L is currently the flagship of this company, and it comes with an attractive price tag, to be only $119. It is recommended to check our deal, so you can always get the best price for this air purifier.
This air purifier, by comparison, is the main competitor to the Levoit Vital 100 and Airthereal APH260. It doesn’t tag with Wi-Fi Enabled Connectivity feature like the Levoit LV-PUR131 or RENPHO RP-AP001, but it also comes without a big chunk of those air purifiers’ price tags.

Okaysou AirMax8L Design and Size
The design of Okaysou AirMax8L looks nice, with white color on plastic body, but it is nearly similar to that of the standard Honeywell air purifiers, which is to say it feels assuredly premium. In fact, Chinese air purifiers are likely to opt to the design of American native air purifiers, like in the case of the Inofia PM1320.
However, there are still many differences, as the Okaysou AirMax8L gives up some curves on edge, and stands as high as 19.4 inches. For the size, this air purifier is barely bigger than the base console air purifiers in this price range.
However, I don’t like the placement of Okaysou AirMax8L’s air intake. Putting it on back is surely better for the simple fan than on sides, but I wish they placed it on front. You know, you can’t put the air purifier with the back facing the wall.
Okaysou AirMax8L marks the common bottom-to-top air flow system concept, and it is the mutual design to effectively clean the air. Like I said earlier, the air inlet is from the back of this air purifier, so you should leave it at the center of your room.
The premium-feeling of this air purifier is on top, and it is sexy, too, thanks to the many hourglass figures for making top air outlet. The control panel stays at the center, with symmetry through its center.
Okaysou AirMax8L weighs 13.8 lbs, and thanks to the convenient handle, you can move this air purifier easily.

Okaysou AirMax8L Filters
To decide the performance of one air purifier, normally we will check the quantity and quality of its air filters, as well as the air filter types. Yes, put aside the quality to discuss later, the Okaysou AirMax8L is quite unique in this low-range segment with 5-stage air cleaning system.
- Pre-filter – The washable pre-filter can capture large particles such as household dust, pet hair and fur, to protect and extend the main filter’s life.
- True HEPA filter – Traps 99.97% of any particles as small as 0.3 microns, like pollen, mold spores, pet dander, dust or dust mites.
- Anti-microbial treatment – Inhibits the growth of bacteria and germs on the surface of other filters.
- Activated Carbon filter – Adsorbs cooking smell, pet odors, ammonia, benzene, as well as further removes formaldehyde.
- Cold Catalyst filter – It is available mostly in high-end air purifiers, as it can decompose Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
The Okaysou AirMax8L runs a complicated air filtration system with 5 different stages of mechanical filter. It ensures 100% ozone-free to meet the strict standard of the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
It doesn’t have as many as carbon filters like the RENPHO RP-AP001 or RENPHO RP-AP002, but the Okaysou AirMax8L introduces both the anti-microbial treatment and Cold Catalyst filter to support the main HEPA filter. It seems even the new Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier 2.0 borrowed the idea of Okaysou in making their flagship device. These mechanical filters reduce the necessity of an UV-C light filter, which can emit high ozone concentration.
In real-world use, the performance of Okaysou AirMax8L is good. I put it in a room of 150 square feet, and let it run against many tough opponents like AeraMax Baby DB55 and Levoit Vital 100. The result, this air purifier is a little behind these two aforementioned air purifiers, with efficiency up to 99.8% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns.
Even with more mechanical air filters, the Okaysou AirMax8L requires 6 months to change the new one, for optimal performance.

Okaysou AirMax8L Room Coverage
The Okaysou AirMax8L is recommended for 320 square feet, and this company even told us to run in area of up to 800 square feet, which is fairly difficult for a budget air purifier, and I certainly was disappointed with the advertisement.
The ACH of Okaysou AirMax8L is 2X to 5X. At its best performance, the air purifier can exchange air in your room every 12 minutes.
The CADR of Okaysou AirMax8L is 125 cfm in general. Okaysou is selling air purifiers with the most competitive fan power for the price.

Okaysou AirMax8L Sound
When I put the Okaysou AirMax8L through our noise level test, which involves measuring the air purifier at 10 feet, with the fan speed from low to high, it proved that it can run as low as 28 decibels (db), which is exactly the whisper-quiet operation.
On highest speed, the noise level is around 60 decibels, which is fairly noisy for an air purifier with such fan power. If you plan to use this air purifier in bedroom, you should switch the fan power to low speed.

Okaysou AirMax8L Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
Okaysou AirMax8L doubles the power consumption of the compact Okaysou AirMic4S, up to 50 watts.
If you run the Okaysou AirMax8L for at least 8 hours per day, you only need to pay $18 each year.

Okaysou AirMax8L Additional Features
The additional features section is perhaps the Okaysou AirMax8L’s weakest link. It’s certainly not bad compared to competitors, and it has extra feature, but it is nothing special.
This is to be expected from its price tag to only has the Sleep Mode and LED indicator for filter replacement as the basic settings. The Sleep Mode is useful in bedroom, as it keeps the fan power on lowest speed, and dim all the light display.
Okaysou AirMax8L has a basic Timer, to further assist in bedroom. It can schedule the time off for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. You can also lock the device’s current setting with the Child lock button.
Okaysou AirMax8L Customer Service
Okaysou may be a new air purifier brand in the market, but they really value the customer service for best experience. They will try to reply to every single question and review made by the customers, on any retailer websites.
If you want to contact the company, you can live chat with them on their website, or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. It takes time to get a reply, because the company is based in China.
The company offers a full refund within 30 days for any undamaged products, as well as a 4-year warranty for any defects due to manufacturer’s flaws. You can get one extra year for warranty, if you register the product successfully in their website.
I often say that a good budget air purifier “doesn’t feel like a budget air purifier”. It is impossible for a budget air purifier to have high quality like the high-end ones, but the Okaysou AirMax8L is one of the few examples that truly feels like a premium air purifier. We really should expect from their new improvements in the future.
If you want to run this air purifier in suggested room’s size, it will take time.
