It seems the company is taking inspiration from Levoit, as tower-style air purifiers are becoming a growing trend for maintaining a compact footprint while still delivering strong performance. Coway Airmega 350 Price

Welcome to the more modern Coway Airmega 350, or at least a large-room air purifier that now seems more in step with its competitors, mostly the Levoit Core 600S. The Airmega 350 and its bigger brother, the Coway Airmega 450, look and feel different from any other Airmega air purifiers that we knew.

That new, more modern tower design also matches that of the top Coway purifier, the Airmega ProX, with its premium cylindrical aesthetic that stands apart from conventional box-shaped air cleaners.

Coway unveiled the Airmega 350 alongside the Airmega 450 as part of a broader push to bring its cylindrical tower design to more of its lineup. The price of the Coway Airmega 350 starts at $339, but it seems Coway is trying to promote the new product at a lower price of $299. It is highly competitive for the price, especially when the Coway Airmega 350 is said to have the performance of the premium Coway Airmega 300.

However, Coway cannot afford to put minimal effort into the new Coway Airmega 350, especially when competitors are offering strong alternatives like the Blue Pure 211i Max, Blue Signature SP3i, and Winix 9800. All of these models deliver excellent performance and include plenty of extra features at a similar price point to the Airmega 350.

Coway Airmega 350 Design and Size

Unlike previous Coway Airmega air purifiers, the Coway Airmega 350 is not instantly recognizable as a typical Coway design. With dimensions of 12 × 12 × 23 inches, it adopts a tower-style form factor, something we have rarely seen from Coway before. Because of that, it remains unclear whether the company can compete as effectively in this category as it does with its more traditional air purifier designs.

Starting with the recent air purifiers, even budget ones like the Airmega 50 or Airmega 100, it seems Coway is more interested with tower design, than console design. The Coway Airmega Mighty 2 is the only new console design from the brand, instead we will find something just like the Coway Airmega 350.

It is clearly that Coway want to introduce the Coway Airmega 350 as an alternative (while budget) air purifier to the premium Coway Airmega 300. It does what the Airmega 300 did not: it moves the mid-range forward with a refreshed cylindrical cabinet, a brand-new tower form, and, of course, the tower design, which replaces the rectangular box with something more attractive and versatile.

As a result, the Coway Airmega 350 delivers strong performance while maintaining a relatively small and compact footprint. Like many tower-style air purifiers, it uses a 360° air intake combined with a standard bottom-to-top airflow design.

To achieve such powerful airflow in a compact body, the Airmega 350 appears to rely on a new fan system. After disassembling the unit for inspection, we found that the Airmega 350 shares many similarities with its competitor, the Levoit Core 600S. The two models may even use a very similar fan motor design, which could explain why the Airmega 350 is able to deliver such strong airflow performance.

Coway is leaning toward making only two color options across the Airmega 350, which many people won’t be sure they are sold on. At the moment, instead of the white option that we gave earlier, you can look for the beige color.

The Airmega 350’s outer shell is a polished lightweight polymer, and the unit is made with thoughtful practical details throughout, including a recessed carry handle and a control panel lock for households with children. At 17.2 lbs, however, the Coway Airmega 350 is quite heavy, in comparison with other air purifiers in the market.

Coway Airmega 350 Filters

To evaluate an air purifier’s performance, we usually start by checking the types of filters it uses and the number of filtration layers included in the system. We have a 3-stage air cleaning system from the Coway Airmega 350, packing in an all-in-one air filter.

1. Pre-filter – A vacuumable pre-filter is outside the main filter to capture large objects of contaminants.
2. True HEPA filter – Aside from the standard HEPA filter that catches 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns, you can select two different custom filter options for your specific needs:
   • Allergen absorber coating, which is mostly tannic acid, is able to chemically denature allergens like pet dander and dust mite.
   • Intense Smoke absorber coating, which is potassium permanganate (KMnO₄), similar to the coating of the high-end Airpura V700, but to a much lesser content. The coating is effective against VOCs.
3. Activated Carbon filter – The Activated Carbon filter is effective against smoke, odors, gases and VOCs.

It is no surprise that Coway has followed the same formula with the all-in-one filter design used in the Coway Airmega 350. The genuine Coway filter feels solid and well-built, with a snug fit inside the air purifier that helps ensure proper sealing and airflow efficiency. Coway also offers two optional filter upgrades for users who want enhanced filtration beyond the standard setup.

If you put the Coway Airmega 350 in the same test with the Blue Pure 211i Max, Levoit Core 600S, and Winix 9800, the air purifier holds its ground pretty impressive. As you can see, the performance is 99.98% after 1 hour, so the Airmega 350 is far better than other air purifiers like the Honeywell HPA6000 or Medify MA-40.

However, the Airmega 350 needs a more expensive air filter, even higher than the Coway Airmega Mighty 2 that we reviewed earlier. At $79 for the basic Fresh starter filter, and you need to replace filter one per year, the annual filter cost is a bit higher than other competitors.

Coway Airmega 350 Room Coverage

The Coway Airmega 350 has been tested extensively across multiple laboratory evaluations, including our own tests, and its realistic recommended room size is around 558 square feet, which is far lower than Coway’s advertised coverage claim.

The ACH of the Airmega 350 is 5X. If you want to use the Airmega 350 in a room of 2640 square feet, the air purifier will exchange air once per hour.

The CADR of the Airmega 350 is 378 Dust/ 360 Smoke/ 450 Pollen (cfm). This CADR rating is even better than the Coway Airmega 300, at a cheaper price.

Coway Airmega 350 Sound

Coway has been making quieter air purifiers year after year, and the Coway Airmega 350 can operate at as low as 21.6 decibels (dB) on its lowest fan speed. We would describe this as true “whisper-quiet” performance, making the lowest setting especially suitable for nighttime use or bedrooms.

At its highest fan speed, the Coway Airmega 350 reaches a very reasonable noise level of 54.7 decibels (dB). It is genuinely impressive how Coway has managed to keep the noise so low while still delivering such high airflow performance. Based on its overall acoustic performance, we can confidently consider Coway air purifiers among the best options for bedroom use.

Coway Airmega 350 Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” An air purifier is meant to run for a long time to be efficient, that’s why many air purifier brands consider the energy-saving standard, mostly in the rate of Energy Star, is one important selling point.

The Coway Airmega 350 is an Energy Star air purifier, which is a rating that Coway is always pursuing. And it’s good for the specs, because the power consumption of the Airmega 350 is only 58 watts. So to say, we have far better performance and efficiency than the previous Coway Airmega 300.

If you’re using the Airmega 350 for at least 8 hours per day, you need to pay $25 annually.

Coway Airmega 350 Additional Features

At its price point, we can expect the Coway Airmega 350 to have Auto mode as the default. It’s not the most feature-rich smart mode system Coway has ever produced, but it does offer some genuinely useful quality-of-life improvements.

Some are subtle, like the button mute for quiet operation or the light sensor that dims the indicator ring at night. Others are bigger, like the Child lock that prevents accidental setting changes in households with children or pets, and the Eco mode that shuts the fan off automatically when air quality holds steady.

The Auto mode is on by default – the unit kept adjusting fan speed in response to room conditions throughout my testing – which is a must for modern life. The Coway Airmega 350 has only PM10 air sensor, but it is good enough to make your life easier.

Even without app connectivity, the aforementioned Eco mode is a practical way to run the Airmega 350 around the clock while keeping power draw minimal during clean-air periods. Finally we have Timer, Nightlight and indicator for filter replacement in this Airmega 350.

Our verdict

The Coway Airmega 350 is arguably one of the best-value air purifiers from Coway. However, it competes in one of the most crowded and competitive price segments on the market, and the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity could limit its popularity compared to similarly priced rivals that offer smarter features.
