The Whirlpool AP45030K (Whirlpool Whispure AP45030K) is the upgrade for the previous Whirlpool AP25030K, and it serves a large room. Is the Boost a worthy option to buy, or should we ignore this very old model? We will find out in this Whirlpool AP45030K Review.
As the old product is discontinued, you should look for the current lineup of Whirlpool, for example, the Whirlpool WPPRO2000.

Whirlpool is a leader in major home appliance manufacturing, but in the competitive air purifier market, can the company compete against the long-established brands like Honeywell, Blueair or IQAir? The Whirlpool AP45030K is a very old device of this brand, and if you are still here, you had better read this Whirlpool AP45030K Review.

Whirlpool AP45030K Price
What do you expect from a large room air purifier? With the Whirlpool AP45030K, the powerful air purifier of the American brand, you can enjoy fresh air in a much larger space.
While some of Whirlpool’s earlier air purifier models were trim with a little fan power to save space for the HEPA filter’s size, the Whirlpool AP45030K is a chunky air purifier that enables a bigger fan.
The Whirlpool AP45030K debuts at a price of $299, and right now you can only find the available model on Amazon. This air purifier is replaced by the next Whirlpool AP51030K (which is internationally named as the Whirlpool WP500). Again, I urge you to move on to the new air purifier because you may not find proper support for the old Whirlpool AP45030K. The air purifier is discontinued.
The price of this Whirlpool AP45030K puts it directly in competition with the army of Winix air purifiers, like the Winix P450, Winix HR900 and even the later smart models, the Winix AM90 and Winix HR1000. I don’t count the Oransi OV200 or Alen BreatheSmart FLEX in the list because of their low fan power, but as you can see, there are a lot of air purifiers from big brands to switch to.
Well, below is a rare chance to have the Whirlpool AP45030K, but only if you are willing to take a risk.
Whirlpool AP45030K Whispure Air Purifier, HEPA Air Cleaner.
CADR rating of 315 cfm, ACH of 5X and a great True HEPA filter. Limited time only.

Whirlpool AP45030K Design and Size
Now Whirlpool has a new contender to fill the midrange pocket – the Whirlpool WP500. But back to the past few years, we also had this Whirlpool AP45030K, which is by any means a bigger and broader version of the Whirlpool AP25030K.
This design is far from dull, and those who have doggedly been using the previous model may find it completely similar.
The Whirlpool AP45030K retains the block look of its predecessor, and though it still works great, this design concept is a little bit boring. It just stretches the dimensions of the old air purifier, with a height of 25.6 inches and a width of 19.6 inches.
That being said, the bottom-to-top airflow concept system will be used to pull air from the large air intake grill in front of this air purifier and direct it to the top air outlet. To support the strong fan power, the Whirlpool AP45030K has a heavy weight of 28.6 lbs, which is even heavier than the Airmega 400S or Blueair Classic 205.
The Whirlpool AP45030K learns from every air purifier with high fan power, for example the Austin Air HealthMate or Airpura H600, to use the simple knob to change the fan speed.

Whirlpool AP45030K Filters
To check the performance of one air purifier, you need to know about the quantity of the air filtration system as well as the types of air filters being used. Just like its predecessor, the Whirlpool AP45030K uses a 2-stage air cleaning system.
- Activated Carbon filter – Covering the HEPA filter is the layer of Activated Carbon filter, which helps adsorb the odors, smoke, and VOCs before the polluted air reaches the HEPA filter.
- True HEPA filter – We will have here a True HEPA filter to capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, such as dust, pet dander, pollen, tobacco smoke, fabric fibers, and mold spores.
Like the previous Whirlpool APT40010R, the Whirlpool AP45030K runs a HEPA filter; however, it has more filter media than the smaller Whirlpool AP25030K. It’s not the greatest air filter you might expect on a high-end air purifier, but the so-called synthetic-based filter membrane is effective at capturing the allergens lurking in your home air.
With better fan power than its predecessor, the Whirlpool AP45030K has the highest efficiency for trapping particles down to 0.3 microns in size. As you can see from the chart below, this air purifier achieved a score of 99.92% in 1 hour for a room of 250 square feet.
The Whirlpool AP45030K uses the same air filter as the new Whirlpool WP500 – the air filter 1183054K. The HEPA filter will cost you $94 for one year of use, while the Activated Carbon filter is $34. Honestly, the air filter cost is not too high in this segment, and if you can invest in the mid-range, you will be able to afford the annual filter cost.

Whirlpool AP45030K Room Coverage
One area of performance that did cause concern is the room coverage of one air purifier. Normally, a large room air purifier will need a big fan to quickly clean your room. And the Whirlpool AP45030K is a personal air purifier that can cover a room of 450 square feet.
The ACH of Whirlpool AP45030K is 5x. Just like Honeywell, the Whirlpool air purifiers are designed to clean a room more often than other brands, and the Whirlpool AP45030K can clean a room every 12 minutes.
The CADR of Whirlpool AP45030K is 315 cfm in general. The higher the CADR rating, the quicker an air purifier can clean your room.

Whirlpool AP45030K Sound
The True HEPA filter is great, but it requires fan power to pull in the polluted air. The downside is clearly the noise level. Even for an air purifier with Quiet Partner (the name of its silent operation system), the Whirlpool AP45030K operates at a noise level of 55 decibels (dB), which is a bit higher than the previous Whirlpool AP25030K.
I have found some negative reviews about the old Whirlpool unit making noisy sounds. It is mostly due to the old age of this air purifier, and because the manufacturer isn’t making more Whirlpool AP45030K, you should change to the Whirlpool WP500 instead for better customer support.

Whirlpool AP45030K Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, we need to run an air purifier for a long time to be efficient.
The Whirlpool AP45030K runs at 110 watts of power consumption, which is really, really high. Do you know that the GermGuardian AC9400W runs at only 48 watts, and the Rabbit Air BioGS 2.0 is even lower at only 29 watts?
For using a Whirlpool AP45030K for 8 hours per day, it would cost you up to $40 per year.

Whirlpool AP45030K Additional Features
As the old device from the Whirlpool family, we shouldn’t expect any additional features, as well as high-end smart features, on this Whirlpool AP45030K. Apart from the knob to change the fan speed, you will have nothing else.
Luckily, we still have the LED indicators for filter replacement to remind us when we need to change the air filter.
In this price range, if you want an air purifier that can be controlled via smartphone, you can look for the Philips 2000i, Winix NK105 or Winix HR1000. The Winix AM90 and Blueair Classic 205 also add the Alexa voice control function to give you more to enjoy.

Whirlpool AP45030K Customer Service
Whirlpool is a global leader in making major home appliances, and with more than 92,000 employees and 65 manufacturing and technology research centers, this company dedicates a lot of time to the customer service field. You can easily reach customer service via email at info@whirlpoolairpurifiers.com and/or info@aromalivingstyles.com or via phone at 866-666-1168.
The warranty policy of Whirlpool is only for one year. From the second through fifth years, the limited warranty is only on the air purifier motor. Also, Aroma International Limited (which covers the supply and warranty for Whirlpool air purifiers) will not pay when your air purifier is used other than for normal, single-family household use. How the company can know that is still unknown.

CADR rating of 315 cfm, ACH of 5X and a great True HEPA filter. Limited time only.
Our verdict
Well, I can’t deny that the Whirlpool AP45030K has a high performance rating. But with a huge price tag on the mighty Honeywell HPA300, as well as poor support to back up the device, you had better stay away from this air purifier.
