Yes, the Honeywell HPA5200 can go as low as $159, meaning it is in the same price range as the Honeywell HPA180, and it is even cheaper than the stylish new Honeywell HPA830.

So to say, it is eligible to compete against the best budget console air purifiers like the Winix 5500-2, Airmega 150, Levoit Vital 200S or Coway AP-1512HH. Even against the upper tier like the Blue Pure 311 Auto or Airmega 230, the Honeywell HPA5200 is still a serious threat.

Head over to the Honeywell website, and you’ll find that the brand considers the Honeywell 5200’s Display At-a-Glance Clear Panel to be its headline feature. Yes, the Honeywell HPA5200 really wants to capture the attention of its customers with its design.

We can see why Honeywell would go with such an eye-catching lead. However, the Honeywell HPA5200’s true unique selling point is far less enticing, as it is very similar to its brothers and lacks anything that distinguishes the device from the crowd.

As the middle child, the Honeywell HPA5200 will have the middle size, obviously, at 19 inches in height and 17.9 inches in width. On top of the air purifier is that expensive-looking, modern control panel, which is clearly the focus of all attention. It has more buttons as well as more features than its little brother, the HPA5100.

The air purifier uses the same bottom-to-top airflow system concept as its brothers. The air sensor is located neatly right beside the air inlet grills, making its air quality index reading much more accurate. Other companies should learn from Honeywell.

The Honeywell HPA5200 weighs 16.3 pounds, which is about 35% more than the Honeywell HPA5100.

Honeywell HPA5200 Filters

But what you might care about is the fact that new Honeywell air purifiers are fitted with a new, optional Activated Carbon filter, which also makes the air purifier more capable of dealing with wildfire smoke (also in the Honeywell headline). You can customize the carbon filter for different purposes.

The Honeywell HPA5200 does the business in day-to-day usage, with numbers to impress. It shared the same efficiency as the Winix HR900 and Levoit Core 400S in our test while being cheaper than both of them. As you can see, the air purifier was much better than the Bissell air220 and Medify MA-25, thanks to its speedy fan power.

Honeywell HPA5200 will need the same HRF-R2 filter as the old HPA200. If you are going to buy the HRF-F1 filter, you need to buy 2 (qty) air filters.

Honeywell HPA5200 Sound

The Honeywell HPA5200, like its brothers, uses a big fan to cover larger spaces. However, the downside is its noise level, and the Honeywell HPA5200 is quite noisy at its highest speed. It is more likely to be a commercial air purifier than a residential one.

So to say, the noise level of the Honeywell HPA5200 ranges from 28 to 60 decibels (dB). I can’t deny that most scenarios feel quite pleasant, but if you’re looking for the quietest air purifier out there, certainly the Honeywell HPA5200 isn’t.

Or you can email sales@honeywellstore.com for any problems you experience while on the site or after buying a product. Honeywell is available from Monday to Friday.

It doesn’t have free shipping like Rabbit Air or Alen, and you must notify customer service within one business day of any problems with a third-party shipping service like USPS or FedEx. Otherwise, it will not accept liability for any merchandise damage during transit. Also, the shipment can take up to 10 business days from the date that the order is shipped.

The hardest part is when you want to return one Honeywell air purifier, as you only have 30 days from the date you receive your item to process your return. If there is no transit damage or workmanship defects, you won’t receive the shipping charge (on both the original shipping charge and the return shipping charge) and will have to pay a 10–30% re-stocking fee.

Honeywell’s warranty policy is also among the longest in the industry, with up to 5 years of coverage.

Our verdict

The Honeywell HPA5200 is yet another beautifully balanced, excellent value air purifier from the brand, ideal for those who value raw performance over extra features. However, I don’t want to ditch the Smart Sensor of this Honeywell HPA5200, as it is highly accurate.
