Honeywell F300 Filters
As the flagship of the whole-home air cleaner series of Honeywell, Honeywell F300 is the only air cleaner with a powerful 3-stage air cleaning system.
- Pre-filter – Traps large objects of pollutants like pet hair, fur and large dust. It should be cleaner every 6 months, by vacuum cleaner or rinsing. Do not wash the prefilter in the dishwasher or car wash.
- HEPA filter – Just like other HVAC system’s filter, Honeywell F300 will use the MERV-13 air filter, which can capture up to 97% airborne particles compared to a standard one-inch filter.
- Electrostatic filter – The postfilter of Honeywell F300 is optional, but it can increase the efficiency of overall system to 99% (MERV-16 equivalent). Can be switched on/off.
The Honeywell F300 is highly efficient at trapping microscopic particles like dust, smoke and virus because of the advanced technology of electrostatic postfilter. It can give the initial MERV rating of 16, which is similar to the ifD air filter of the tower series like Honeywell AirGenius 4 or Honeywell AirGenius 5.
It is said to have superior performance, up to 30 times more efficient at capturing airborne particles compared to a standard 1-inch filter.
You need to replace the postfilter every 6 months for optimal performance. Do not wash the postfilter, as it has electric charge and can harm you. Our today unit is a Honeywell F300E1019 with postfilter 50000293-002. Make sure to get the right filter for your model.

Honeywell F300 Sound
Without fan power, Honeywell F300 won’t produce any noise. And actually the Honeywell F300 will work in unison with your existing heating, ventilating, and cooling system (HVAC) to filter all contaminants in your air, so no way you can see it in your living areas.
You may hear snapping sound occasionally when the Honeywell F300 operates, because of high voltage discharge. It means your air cleaner is working fine, and anyway, you’re living far from this air cleaner.

Honeywell F300 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, we need to run an air purifier for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is a must buy or not.
As an electronic air cleaner, the Honeywell F300 uses energy to operate. But the power consumption of this Honeywell F300 is only 36 watts, which is a lot better than 60 watts from Aprilaire 5000.
If you switch on the Electrostatic filter of the Honeywell F300 for at least 8 hours per day, you will need to pay only $13 each year.

Honeywell F300 Additional Features
As the latest version of Honeywell whole-home air cleaner series, the Honeywell F300 has many features for better user experience. For example, we can simply know when the machine is working by checking the neon indicator light.
There is one test button to help you check whether the electrostatic postfilter is working or not. However, we don’t have the thermostat, as well as the filter replacement indicator from previous Honeywell F200, which is really a disappointment.
