Honeywell is one of the most recognized names in home air purification, with a lineup spanning compact bedroom units to large-room powerhouses. Its HPA series purifiers are AHAM Verifide, Energy Star certified, and long marketed as the number-one brand recommended by allergists. Time for the top-of-the-line Honeywell product, in this Honeywell HPA6000 review.

Other Honeywell’s Air Purifier Reviews:

Honeywell HPA6000 Price

The Honeywell HPA6000 is a great, 3-in-1 air purifier – one of the better options for anyone who wants an easy-to-use, versatile, premium device. Its design benefits from a slim tower profile which is clean to look at and does a great job of fitting unobtrusively into any room, and the unit’s swivel base makes directing airflow where you need it easy too.

Honeywell’s a traditionalist, and that ethos applies to its air purifier design. There’s a True HEPA filter and an AHAM Verifide certification, and the overall focus on proven allergen removal hasn’t changed much over the years. It’s pretty obvious why Honeywell fans are so loyal. Honeywell is very consistent compared to many other brands whose year-on-year launches barely resemble one another.

So, the Honeywell HPA6000B is available in the US, in Black and White colorways. You can order it on Amazon and at major retailers now, and it’s widely available in one filter system only. Price at $259, the Honeywell HPA6000 will be exactly in the same price range as the Honeywell HPA5300 and a very classic and discontinued Honeywell products: the Honeywell HPA8350 and Honeywell HPA300.

In 2026, it’s against so many new AHAM-verified air purifiers: from the Blue Pure 211i Max, Levoit Core 600S, Winix 9800 to the Medify MA-40 or Medify MA-50. Not to mention the American-based GermGuardian Airsafe XL that is always compete directly against the Honeywell HPA6000.

But Honeywell always has top-of-the-line warranty policies, as well as the high-quality True HEPA filter for the most loyal fans. So at this competitive low-range segment, the Honeywell HPA6000 tries to excel with its finest qualities.

Honeywell HPA6000 Design and Size

Honeywell has long opted for the tower design in its product lines, so the Honeywell HPA6000 is naturally born to stand next to the very well-designed Honeywell HPA5300 as the new flagship Honeywell air purifier.

The tower form factor won’t be for everyone, and the fact Honeywell omits specific CADR figures for smoke, dust, and pollen also holds it back on paper. You can think of the Honeywell HPA6000 as a weaker tower version of the HPA5300. In real-world use, you are paying more for the design than the actual fan power.

Still, the tower design helps reduce the footprint of the Honeywell HPA6000. Measuring 11″ in width and standing 25″ in height, the Honeywell HPA6000 is slender and relatively tall. With its narrow tower footprint and swivel base, it’s also a great option for anyone sick of bulky box-style purifiers. 25 inches mean the Honeywell HPA6000 is more compact than most tower air purifiers at the moment, especially things from GermGuardian.

As the flagship, you’d expect a polished finish from the Honeywell HPA6000, and that’s exactly what you get. The tower body is matte plastic, which has a clean, unassuming look that matches the filter housing nicely. The capacitive touch panel sits at the top, and the slim footprint and tower form make it easy to place in tight spots.

Available in two colors, Black and White, we tested the Black variant Honeywell HPA6000B, and thanks to its matte finish, it does a reasonable job of staying smudge-free. You can buy the White version instead, both sport the same 360° airflow system concept.

Honeywell HPA6000 review

The Honeywell HPA6000 weighs only 13 lbs, meaning it’s only half the weight of the HPA5300, and even lighter than the most compact Honeywell HPA5100. It’s amazing how Honeywell makes such a lightweight appliance while not sacrifices much on its fan power.

Honeywell HPA6000 Filters

To determine the performance of an air purifier, normally we will check quality and quantity of an air purifier’s filters first, as well as its air filter types. Just like the Honeywell HPA125 that we wrote recently, the Honeywell HPA6000 uses the same 3-stage air cleaning system, within an all-in-one air filter.

  1. Pre-filter – The pre-filter is vacuumable. It can trap dust, hair and fur.
  2. True HEPA filter – The Honeywell HPA6000 uses a True HEPA filter to capture up to 99.97% of contaminant particles down to 0.3 microns, like pet dander, mold, viruses, bacteria, and pollen.
  3. Activated Carbon filter – Simple carbon filter reduces odors & VOCs.

This year, Honeywell decides to go all-in with tower air purifier design and 3-in-1 air filtration system. The Honeywell HPA6000 uses a very much similar air filter as the Honeywell HPA125, only different in size.

Honeywell’s carbon filtration has been modest in the past with its older HPA line. After all, squeezing a pre-filter, HEPA layer, and carbon stage into a single 3-in-1 unit is bound to pull up some engineering challenges. While less headline-grabbing, therefore, the True HEPA performance of the Honeywell HPA6000 has been more consistently reliable.

If there’s one issue with older Honeywell HPA carbon filters, it’s VOC and odor performance. From the newer line, Honeywell HPA5100, Honeywell HPA5200 and Honeywell HPA5300, we have honeycombed activated carbon filter instead, with improved performance. The Honeywell HPA6000 inherits the same technology, to deal with kitchen odors far better.

In the test for air purifiers in the $200-$400 range, at 300-sq-ft room, the Honeywell HPA6000 is slightly behind its brother and other top-tier air purifiers. However, the result is still exceptional, because the Honeywell HPA6000 can reduce 99.9% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in just 1 hour.

More than that, the filter F (HRFF6000) of this Honeywell HPA6000 can last up to 1 year in the normal conditions, thus the annual cost at around $59 is very good.

Honeywell HPA6000 Room Coverage

We have yet another Honeywell air purifier being verified by AHAM, and the Honeywell HPA6000 can tackle rooms up to 398 square feet, which is impressive enough for a sub-$300 air purifier. Obviously, the Honeywell HPA6000 doesn’t have as good coverage per price as the Honeywell HPA5300, but in the next section, you will see why I deem the Honeywell HPA6000 as the better-performed air purifier.

The ACH of Honeywell HPA6000 is 5x. All air purifiers verified by AHAM tests will clean a suggested room size 5 times per hour.

The CADR of Honeywell HPA6000 is 262 Dust/ 257 Smoke/ 285 Pollen (cfm). With this CADR rating, if the Honeywell HPA6000 clean only 1 time per hour, it can clean rooms up to 1928 square feet.

Honeywell HPA6000 Sound

The Honeywell HPA6000 is quite powerful and its acoustic design isn’t good enough to keep trimming down the noise it makes when operating, especially at the Turbo360 mode. The DC motor in the Honeywell HPA6000 is theoretically quieter than the AC motors in the Honeywell HPA5300, though the result is quite high at 63 decibels (dB).

I recommend to turn on Auto Mode on this Honeywell HPA6000, or keep the fan power as low as possible. When doing that, the noise level is about 34 decibels (dB), which is library-quiet.

Honeywell HPA6000 Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a long time, and power consumption is really something to consider. There is even a label named Energy Star for the most energy-efficient air purifiers, which we consider a point in our performance ranking.

The Honeywell HPA6000 is an Energy Star air purifier, which isn’t a surprise, and it is very good with this label. Why? Operates at only 35 watts, the Honeywell HPA6000 can nearly achieve the same fan power as the Honeywell HPA5300 that needs more than 100 watts. Together with the Honeywell HPA125, Honeywell is doing so good at keeping top-tier performance these years.

If you plan to run the Honeywell HPA6000 for at least 8 hours per day, you need to pay up to $15.34 annually.

Honeywell HPA6000 Additional Features

Despite launching alongside a number of smart Wi-Fi-enabled purifiers, the Honeywell HPA6000 launches without app connectivity. That isn’t a huge deal for most buyers, Honeywell knows that, as the company quietly discontinues the smart Honeywell HPA8350 or Honeywell HPA250B.

Instead, Honeywell makes the right thing to include the Smart Sensor in the Honeywell HPA6000, together with the color-coded AQI display ring to help sense the current air pollution in your home, and adjust fan power to match the need.

Honeywell keeps advertising about the Turbo360 – which is simply the most powerful fan power of the air purifier. There is a trick in the Honeywell HPA6000 – it is basically a fan. With its Turbo360 swivel fan and 360° airflow positions, the unit comfortably moves clean air across open-plan rooms.

An hour of running on medium fan speed in a well-ventilated living room produced consistent AQI improvements across the room, not just near the unit – a real benefit of 360° circulation over front-facing air purifiers. It is similar to the design concept of the Dyson Pure Cool and Dyson Pure Hot+Cool.

We still have the Timer and LED indicator for filter replacement. These are the basics of an air purifier, and the Honeywell HPA6000 doesn’t skip it.

Honeywell HPA6000 Customer Service

Honeywell is a market leader in air purifiers, but its customer service is not as friendly as that of competitors. You can reach customer service via the mailbox at the Honeywell Store at 407 N. Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois. But I suggest you call 847-701-3038 for any support questions. Or you can email sales@honeywellstore.com for any problems you experience while on the site or after buying a product. Honeywell is available from Monday to Friday.

It doesn’t have free shipping like Rabbit Air or Alen, and you must notify customer service within one business day of any problems with a third-party shipping service like USPS or FedEx. Otherwise, it will not accept liability for any merchandise damage during transit. Also, the shipment can take up to 10 business days from the date that the order is shipped.

The hardest part is when you want to return one Honeywell air purifier, as you only have 30 days from the date you receive your item to process your return. If there is no transit damage or workmanship defects, you won’t receive the shipping charge (on both the original shipping charge and the return shipping charge) and will have to pay a 10–30% re-stocking fee.

Honeywell’s warranty policy is also among the longest in the industry, with up to 5 years of coverage.
