The Honeywell HPA075 is a relatively affordable air purifier with a True HEPA filter, but does it do enough? The new lineup of Honeywell air purifiers starts with the Honeywell HPA075 and Honeywell HPA080, and they both tackle the lowest-range segment with their certified performance. In Breathe Quality, we have both air purifiers ready for testing, and here we go with the Honeywell HPA075 Review.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We provide honest reviews (both pros and cons) so that everyone can make the best decisions.
- We do not (and never will) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
Sections
- Verified performance
- Better fan power than its competitors
- Customizable carbon filter
- 5-year warranty
- Lacks of features
- High cost for filter replacement
Honeywell doesn’t disappoint us with a new lineup of air purifiers, ranging from the lowest range to the lower mid-range. The Honeywell HPA075 is one simple air purifier that the company says is meant to replace the Honeywell HPA060 with more fan power. Will it suffice? Let’s find out in our Honeywell HPA075 Review.
Other Honeywell’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Honeywell HPA075 Price
Honeywell has been on a roll since the release of the Honeywell HPA300, which is widely regarded as the best air purifier in Breathe Quality. It has launched a budget air purifier named Honeywell HPA020B that delivers very good performance for the money. However, with the failure of the Honeywell HHT270W and the new appearances of other good products, Honeywell got quite a beating here.
As a result, the company discontinued the HEPA-type air purifier as soon as possible and focused all of its efforts on developing a new line of smart air purifiers. The Honeywell HPA080 is the key device to take on the low-range segment, and its brother, the Honeywell HPA075, cuts features for less money.
You’ll have a hard time finding the Honeywell HPA075 in your local stores, but Honeywell sells it online at $99. I recommend you follow our deal so you can get a lower price of only $75. It is even cheaper than the older Honeywell HPA060, which was a symbol for high-quality air purifiers in the low-range segment.
Sadly, the competition is filled with good products, like the Levoit Core 200S, Levoit Core 300 and Winix A230 which are in high demand. I recommend upping your game to the Blue Pure 411 Auto, which is currently the best budget air purifier you can get.

Honeywell HPA075 Design and Size
The Honeywell HPA075 has a very modern appearance while retaining many classic design elements. You will get the same mini tower air purifier design dated back from the Honeywell HPA060 and HPA050, but the Honeywell HPA075 is more like a rectangular prism without curves. It has fewer air grills to collect less dust. The width of this air purifier is also wider than its brothers, at 12.6 inches.
Honeywell HPA075 is bigger due to the fact that it’s taller. At 19.25 inches, the air purifier can match the size of some compact tower air purifiers from Guardian Technologies, most notably the GermGuardian AC4825 and GermGuardian AC4700. It is also heavier at 11.2 lbs, but thankfully we still have a convenient handle to help move the air purifier.
However, it doesn’t have such a wide footprint like the old HPA060. The Honeywell HPA075 feels more compact, and thus, it can match decor easier.
I only know a black version of this Honeywell HPA075B. Honeywell has a tradition of calling its white version by a different number, and I will update the article as soon as possible.
It is the same back-to-front airflow system concept, which is a bit uncommon at the moment. Honeywell seems to remind us of very old air purifiers acting like fan systems. You should notice that the Honeywell HPA075 doesn’t have an oscillation function like the popular Honeywell HFD-120-Q. This airflow system can direct fresh air to its users, but it has some limitations in terms of placement. Perhaps a 360° air purifier with a bottom-to-top airflow system is better.
However, you will know the Honeywell HPA075 as a modern air purifier because it has a touch control panel. The icons are nicely done, but there is a lack of information.

Honeywell HPA075 Filters
Being a giant filter manufacturer, Honeywell keeps using the same air filter for its new air purifiers. However, the company includes one optional filter for the Honeywell HPA075, so you will have a 3-stage air cleaning system here.
- Pre-filter – The pre-filter is a carbon filter. This will both help adsorb VOCs, gases, and odors and trap larger particles. You will need to replace this filter after 3 months of usage.
- Optional Activated Carbon filter – A honeycombed carbon filter is specially formulated for customization.
- HRFTK1: Formulated with potassium permanganate and activated carbon for faster odor adsorption and reduction.
- HRFTS1: Formulated with treated activated carbon for smoke and odor adsorption.
- HRFTS1: Formulated with activated carbon and zeolite for pet odor adsorption.
- True HEPA filter – The Honeywell HPA075 uses a True HEPA filter to capture up to 99.97% of down to 0.3 microns contaminant particles like pet dander, mold, viruses, bacteria and pollen.
The HEPA filter HRF-G1 (filter G) of Honeywell continues its legacy for yet another new air purifier. Both the Honeywell HPA075 and its brother, the Honeywell HPA080, feature this thick True HEPA filter, which is able to capture even the tiniest airborne particles.

To improve the performance of this air purifier, Honeywell adds a new optional Activated Carbon filter, which you can customize to tailor to your needs. You should know that this is a high-end honeycombed carbon filter that is specially formulated with zeolite or potassium permanganate to increase the efficiency of odor adsorption. This is truly something you can only get from Honeywell air purifiers.
However, with the same size and air filter, it isn’t hard to foretell the performance of this Honeywell HPA075. It did the same test as the old Honeywell HPA020B in a room of 100 square feet for 1 hour. The result, the Honeywell HPA075 was a little behind the GermGuardian AC4825 and AeraMax 100 in the same conditions. However, it was better than the popular Levoit LV-H132.
You will need the pre-filter A and HEPA filter G (HRF-G1) for this Honeywell HPA075, which costs around $30. It is the most expensive HEPA filter in the low-range market, but its durability is higher, as you can use the air filter for 12 months.

Honeywell HPA075 Room Coverage
The Honeywell HPA075 has been verified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), meaning it has been independently tested to ensure its efficiency in reducing smoke, dust and pollen in the suggested room size. So to say, the Honeywell HPA075’s room coverage is 170 square feet.
The ACH of Honeywell HPA075 is 5x. It is the same ACH rating as an AHAM-verified air purifier, so the device will clean every 12 minutes in the suggested room size.
The CADR of Honeywell HPA075 is 72 Dust/ 65 Smoke/ 80 Pollen (cfm). It has better fan power than the old compact models of Honeywell, like the Honeywell HPA020B and Honeywell HPA060. It will clean a bit quicker, but its performance is overall not as good as GermGuardian air purifiers.

Honeywell HPA075 Sound
The new Honeywell HPA075 air purifier does a better job at keeping its operation silent. The Quiet Clean mode of this air purifier recorded a noise level of only 29 decibels (dB), which is far better than old Honeywell products.
On its highest speed, the Honeywell HPA075 keeps the noise level as low as 54 decibels. It is good for most scenarios, and it is advisable to run this air purifier while sleeping.

Honeywell HPA075 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, we need to run an air purifier for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criterion to review to determine if this air purifier is good or not.
The Honeywell HPA075 is another Energy Star-rated air purifier. However, its more powerful fan uses more energy, and the new Honeywell HPA075 isn’t the most energy-saving product of this American brand. Honeywell HPA075 has a rated power of 36 watts, a bit higher than Honeywell HPA060.
It could cost you up to $13 per year to use a Honeywell HPA075 for 8 hours per day. Still not a big deal, right?

Honeywell HPA075 Additional Features
Honeywell has separated two models for its new compact air purifier, and the Honeywell HPA075 is the non-smart version, so you shouldn’t expect any additional features from this air purifier. If you’d like your air purifier to have Smart Sensor, look for the new Honeywell HPA080.
There is a LED indicator for filter replacement, as usual, to remind you when to replace the air filter. Be sure to reset the indicator after that.

Honeywell HPA075 Customer Service
Honeywell is a market leader in air purifiers, but its customer service is not as friendly as that of competitors. You can reach customer service via the mailbox at the Honeywell Store at 407 N. Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois. But I suggest you call 847-701-3038 for any support questions. Or you can email sales@honeywellstore.com for any problems you experience while on the site or after buying a product. Honeywell is available from Monday to Friday.
It doesn’t have free shipping like Rabbit Air or Alen, and you must notify customer service within one business day of any problems with a third-party shipping service like USPS or FedEx. Otherwise, it will not accept liability for any merchandise damage during transit. Also, the shipment can take up to 10 business days from the date that the order is shipped.
The hardest part is when you want to return one Honeywell air purifier, as you only have 30 days from the date you receive your item to process your return. If there is no transit damage or workmanship defects, you won’t receive the shipping charge (on both the original shipping charge and the return shipping charge) and will have to pay a 10–30% re-stocking fee.
Honeywell’s warranty policy is also among the longest in the industry, with up to 5 years of coverage.

Our verdict
The Honeywell HPA075 isn’t the cheapest air purifier you can find in the low-range segment, but that’s what you pay for the extraordinary warranty policy. The air purifier, however, has decent performance for most parts, being certified by both the AHAM and Energy Star.
