Bionaire BAP756-U Air Purifier: Trusted Review & Specs

Being just too much alike with the Holmes HAP726-NU, our current Bionaire BAP756-U is now unavailable in many trusted vendors. So if you really want one, I guess you need to move into Canada, because this air purifier is much more popular here. Today, we’re happy to introduce the Bionaire BAP756-U Review.

The Bionaire BAP756-U is discontinued, and its performance is not really that good, so we recommend you to check out other air purifier reviews in our website.

Bionaire BAP756-U ranks C- in our air purifier ranking list. We give the biggest and most thorough database of air purifier reviews in the world.

Update: As the Bionaire BAP756-U appears to be fully sold out, I recommend properly checking our deal before reading this review, as the review itself is pretty lengthy.

In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:

  • We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
  • We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.

As a subsidiary of The Holmes Group, Bionaire is now a brand mainly for Canada. Their products mostly resemble the Holmes air purifiers, but they still have two good tower air purifiers of their own. Though the Bionaire BAP756-U is not one of these two, it is the rare True HEPA air purifier of this company. In this Bionaire BAP756-U Review, we will start with the less popular device of this brand.

Other Bionaire’s Air Purifier Reviews:

Bionaire BAP756-U Price

Being the copycat of the Holmes HAP726-NU, the Bionaire BAP756-U is currently unavailable on both Bionaire website and Amazon, to clear the confusion with the original version.

The price of this Bionaire BAP756-U launched at $109, which is similar to the Holmes version. Along with the Bionaire BAP925-U (which is also unavailable), the Bionaire BAP756-U is the only air purifier with True HEPA filter of Bionaire. Of course, just like the Holmes air purifiers, you can purchase the True HEPA filter to increase the efficiency of HEPA-type devices.

With just a small price, the Bionaire BAP756-U is a good opponent to these popular modern devices, for example Levoit Vista 200, AeraMax 100 or VEVA 8000 Elite Pro. If you prefer the classic air purifiers, you can easily opt-in for the Honeywell 17000-S or GermGuardian AC4825.

Again, we must remind you that the Bionaire BAP756-U can be unavailable anytime at the moment. We have a deal for you, but it may not work in the future, so check it carefully.

Bionaire BAP756-U Design and Size

Nothing different from the Holmes HAP726-NU. You will still have the very old design of air purifier, with large air vents to reduce the obstruct to the air flow. A regular design is spruced up by the use of white and black colors. The black version, however, can’t be found anywhere at the time of writing. This is to extremely disappointed because the black color option is always the best selection of Bionaire.

There isn’t much for you to differentiate these twin air purifier. The Bionaire BAP756-U is bigger, 22 inches in height and 21 inches in width. It is also heavier, with the weight of 21 lbs.

Again, Bionaire still remains the bottom-to-top air flow system concept, with the air intake on front and air outlet on top. This is the classic concept of the console air purifiers, and there is not much to explain here.

Bionaire BAP756-U Filters

To decide the performance of one air purifier, you will need to know about the quantity and quality of its air filters, as well as the air filter types are used. The Bionaire BAP756-U is a very classic air purifier, but with 3-stage air cleaning system as below.

  1. Activated Carbon Filter – This Activated Carbon filter has been treated with the baking soda, it can act as a pre-filter to trap larger particles and adsorb the odors that may come from pets, garbage, cooking, smoke, bathroom or litter boxes.
  2. True HEPA filter – A True HEPA Filter can reduce 99.97% of down to 0.3 microns all contaminant particles like dust, dust mites, pollen, pet dander or even mold spores.
  3. Ionizer – Bionaire BAP756-U has an optional ionizer to increase the efficiency.

There is no change from the performance of the bigger Bionaire BAP756-U when compared with the Holmes HAP726-NU. Luckily, we have the whole collection of Bionaire air purifiers to test, and as you can see from the below chart, the Bionaire BAP756-U is really great. Its result is an efficiency of trapping 99.7% of any particles down to 0.3 microns, which is slightly better than the non-ion Holmes HAP726-NU.

Bionaire doesn’t have their own air filter, and you need to purchase the original Holmes air filter for the Bionaire BAP756-U. This is the air filter HAPF600 and HAPF60CS, which can last for 6 months. The cost is only $24 for a pack of two, and I think it is reasonable.

Bionaire BAP756-U Room Coverage

This air purifier is great for large rooms, which is recommended to use for a room of 420 square feet.

The ACH of Bionaire BAP756-U is 4X. This console air purifier will clean your room every 15 minutes.

The CADR of Bionaire BAP756-U is 220 cfm in general. With bigger size, the Bionaire BAP756-U has bigger fan and can move much more air.

Bionaire BAP756-U Sound

Like many classic air purifiers, the Bionaire BAP756-U doesn’t concern about the noise level much. If you have time to read through all the negative reviews of this air purifier, you will find out one thing in common, the loud noise. Of course, running at the noise level of 60 decibels (db) at highest setting proves to be too high to accept.

So to say, in case you need a silent air purifier, with enough fan power to clean your room, I suggest you to search for the Levoit Vista 200 or SilverOnyx instead.

Bionaire BAP756-U Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review how much energy this air purifier will consume.

The old console air purifier has a high power consumption, of 110 watts. If you want a comparison, you should know the power consumption of modern air purifiers like Rabbit Air BioGS 2.0 can be as low as 20 watts.

For running the Bionaire BAP756-U 8 hours per day, you need to pay for $40 each year.

Bionaire BAP756-U Additional Features

Though the Bionaire BAP756-U has an additional ionizer function, which isn’t included in the Holmes HAP726-NU, it forgets to bring the timer into the air purifier like the American counterpart. Fortunately, you still have the LED indicator for filter replacement, as well as the function to reset the reminder.

If you prefer more functions in your air purifier, I believe that you need to check the Levoit Vista 200 or SilverOnyx instead.

Bionaire BAP756-U Customer Service

The Bionaire is one major subsidiary under the name of The Holmes Group, but the customer service is not as good as the main brand. Now, the Bionaire is owned by Sunbeam Products Inc, which was itself acquired by Jarden Corporation.

So, for most parts, the way to contact customer service of Bionaire is similar to Holmes, either by filling in the information at their Contact page, or calling them via phone at 800-253-2764.

They have good delivery option, with standard shipping rate to be from $6 to $40, depending on the order amount. At the time of writing, they also provide a Free Shipping for any orders over $50. There is a return policy for the Bionaire air purifiers, just like Holmes air purifiers, as you can return your item within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or refund of the purchase price, for any reason.

Most importantly, all Bionaire air purifiers are warranted with 5-year warranty, which is the best offer for a low-range lineup.

Our verdict

There is not much to think about the Bionaire BAP756-U, especially when it is mostly unavailable at the moment. If you are satisfied with this air purifier’s specs, you should have a look at the Holmes HAP726-NU, as it is much more available in stock for the U.S customers.
