As with the Bionaire BAP360XL, the Bionaire BAP0041UV offers the most powerful air filtration system from this brand. It will be a little bit higher than the likes of the Bionaire BAP9417 AER1 and Bionaire BAP360, but the Bionaire BAP0041UV will include the headline feature – the UV light protect system that can clean your filter and air of select germs in under two hours.
Also reasonably impressive is the Bionaire BAP0041UV’s True HEPA filter, that’s well-made for the price. Bionaire was once known for making only air purifiers with HEPA-type filter, but the latest generations see a shift in making True HEPA filter, which is more suitable for the current market.
We’re much less impressed with the air purifier’s lack of an air quality sensor, which provides no auto-speed adjustment and no real-time air quality reading. That’s a trait of Bionaire, trading the common Smart Sensor for being cheap, but at $149, the Bionaire BAP0041UV isn’t that cheap, not like what we could expect from the Bionaire BAP9260 or Bionaire BAP9921.
The competition is also very stiff at the moment, with things like the Airthereal AGH400, Cuckoo CAC-I0510FW, Levoit Vital 100S or Blue Pure 511i Max all offer Smart Sensor with reasonable performance. If you can catch sale on the Levoit Vital 200S or Winix 5510, you even have a powerful console air purifier at nearly $149, and there is no reason to choose the Bionaire BAP0041UV over these options.

Bionaire BAP0041UV Design and Size
Holding the purifier alongside any previous Bionaire 360° model, the Bionaire BAP0041UV looks and feels very distinctive. It has very similar proportions at 17.5 × 10.7 × 11.5 inches, though it keeps weight to a reasonable 8.6 pounds. That’s for the dimension, but the design is one-of-its-kind.
The main difference relates to the design of the Bionaire BAP0041UV is its overall shape and the exclusive handle, which make the air purifier feels like a personal lamp. And it is indeed a lamp, because Bionaire really wants to advertise about the UV light technology, and the Bionaire BAP0041UV has its own Nightlight function.
The Bionaire BAP0041UV also has a fabric wrapped around the air inlet, making the air purifier look more premium. Overall it’s the bottom-to-top airflow system concept, and Bionaire let a few holes under the fabric area, to allow airflow better.
The top control panel is simple, but with more buttons than other Bionaire air purifiers. Around the top it’s much the same, with a touch-sensitive panel and a built-in carry handle.
