AeraMax is a big air purifier brand owned by Fellowes – a family business since 1917. All air purifiers of the family are certified by Asthma and Allergy Friendly Certification, to be extra efficient in saving you from allergies and asthma symptoms. The AeraMax Professional 4 is the flagship of the commercial lineup, which is meant for healthier work environments, as well as improves overall workplace performance. Today, we will give you the latest AeraMax Professional 4 Review.
Other AeraMax’s Air Purifier Reviews:
AeraMax Professional 4 Price
AeraMax saves the final slot for the AeraMax Professional 4, which is designed to serve for any conference rooms, classrooms, locker rooms and cafeterias. Such large spaces require a big air purifier to clean the air, something both the AeraMax Professional AM 2 and AeraMax Professional 3 can’t.
This air purifier also introduces the first PureView technology, which is later applied on the Professional 3 and Professional 3S model. Our today unit is a device with PureView technology, named AeraMax Professional 4 PC.
Yes, it is really, really expensive. But can you find an air purifier for public places with low-range price? Probably yes, but the AeraMax Professional 4 is still the best bet to get if you truly need the high performance.
AeraMax Professional 4 is officially $2100 for the standard version, without PureView technology. The version with floor stand – AeraMax Professional 4S, costs you $2245 so you can move it between places. Finally, our today reviewed unit, the AeraMax Professional 4 PC is $2399, and this is the only version with the ultimate PureView technology and design.
The price is matching even the flagship office air purifier of Blueair – the Blueair Pro XL. Keep in mind, the flagship of AeraMax commercial air purifier can make things like AllerAir 6000, IQAir GC MultiGas or Oransi Erik 650A somehow ‘affordable’.

AeraMax Professional 4 Design and Size
Another huge, and bulky air purifier, which is quite similar to a water heater, from the lineup of AeraMax commercial products, is out. The AeraMax Professional 4 is extremely big with the same height of 19.5 inches like its brother – the AeraMax Professional 3, but it is widen to be 35 inches in width. However, if you mount it on wall, the device is a little bit thinner with only 9 inches in depth.
It comes with three different color: stainless gray, graphite and white. Our today unit is a white option, and I must remind you this is an AeraMax Professional 4 PC. If you want the version without PureView display, you should get this version instead.
The PureView display only takes a small place on the edge of the AeraMax Professional 4 PC, and when you hang it up, it is probably hard to check the air quality index in such a small display.
Just like the previous model, AeraMax Professional 4 sports the bottom-to-top air flow system concept. The air intake at the bottom is huge, which is meant for a mountable air purifier. Again, you need an access panel to help unlock the front cover of this air purifier.
As the flagship of AeraMax commercial lineup, AeraMax Professional 4 uses the capacitive touch control panel, which is more durable to use in long time.

AeraMax Professional 4 Filters
To check the performance of one air purifier, normally you will look at the quality and quantity of the air filters, as well as the air filter types. The AeraMax Professional 4 is a flagship of the commercial lineup, so it uses the ultimate 5-stage air cleaning system as below.
- Pre-filter – AeraMax Professional 4 detaches the pre-filter out of the carbon filter, so the carbon filter can keep working effectively. The pre-filter can capture large particulates like dust and hair, and needs to be replaced after 6 months.
- Activated Carbon Filter – The carbon filter works independently to capture high odors or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
- True HEPA filter – Next, all airborne contaminants must rest in the True HEPA filter of this air purifier, with a high efficiency of trapping 99.97% of any particles as small as 0.3 microns like pollen, ragweed and other allergens, viruses, germs, dust mites, mold spores, and pet dander.
- AeraSafe Antimicrobial Treatment – The built-in protection right in the surface of its True HEPA filter, to prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mildew, and fungi.
- PlasmaTrue Technology – This is one kind of ionizer, which creates an ionized field to help safely remove airborne pollutants. Can be switched on/off.
Just like the other AeraMax commercial air purifiers, you can choose from 3 different options for the main filter in this AeraMax Professional 4. If you need an advanced solution for high odors and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), you should use the standalone carbon filter. This filter is from the previous AeraMax Professional 3, and it is 2.5-inch deep to adsorb more chemicals.
You can select between a hybrid air filter or a standard combination of True HEPA and Carbon filters. The former is much more balance, while the latter can capture more allergens at the cost of shorter life time in Carbon filter.
Again, we have the PlasmaTrue technology – the exclusive ionizer to create an ionized field to help safely remove airborne pollutants. As a device which is complied both by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Asthma & Allergy Friendly, you can live and work well under the AeraMax Professional 4 for sure.
The AeraMax Professional 4 needs to be tested in the most difficult test of Breathe Quality, as I put it in a room 500 square feet, and let it run for 1 hour. The device is compared against the other flagships of well-known brands, like Aeris aair 3-in-1 Pro, Airpura P600 or Winix T1. As you can see, they all achieve high efficiency of removing any pollutants down to 0.3 microns.
Being the flagship, the AeraMax Professional 4 still runs the air filters of its brother – the Professional 3 model. Below are the deals for the filter replacement, and it needs to change after 1 year.

AeraMax Professional 4 Room Coverage
AeraMax Professional 4, with dual motors for high-quality fan power, can cover any spaces between 600 and 1400 square feet. The manufacturer suggests to run the air purifier for conference rooms, classrooms, locker rooms and cafeterias, as well as common areas and places.
The ACH of AeraMax Professional 4 is 5X. As the flagship of AeraMax, this air purifier will deliver air cleaning 5 times per hour.

AeraMax Professional 4 Sound
The AeraMax commercial lineup isn’t the best device with silent operation, as they all act as the air purifiers for large and public spaces. The AeraMax Professional 4 uses advanced dual encased brushless DC motors to reduce noise, and it is fairly quiet on lowest speed, with just 42 decibels (db).
However, if you prepare to run it on highest speed, you should notice the noise quickly. I’ve measured the noise level to be 68 decibels (db), and if you think it can distract you while working, you should reduce the fan speed. Fortunately, the EnviroSmart technology is here to keep the fan speed as low as possible for the users.

AeraMax Professional 4 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
Well, you are using an air purifier for extra-large spaces, with very high fan power, so don’t expect it to consume less energy than the predecessors. In fact, the rated power of AeraMax Professional 4 is 175 watts, which is on par with any air purifiers with such high fan power.
If you use the AeraMax Professional 4 for 8 hours per day, you need to pay $62.5 annually.

AeraMax Professional 4 Additional Features
As an air purifier with less mobility, because it will be mounted on wall, you really need the Auto Mode to be convenient. This is the EnviroSmart technology, and with the high-end AeraMax Professional 4 PC, Fellowes has upgraded to version 2.0 of the device, to continually analyze the air in the room, and change to highest fan speed when the air quality is poor.
The PureView technology is just a display for design excellence and innovation. You can check the quality of the air as it enters and leaves the unit as well as a real-time VOC level visual.
Just like other commercial air purifiers, AeraMax Professional 4 will alert you when to change the air filter with two different LED indicators for Carbon and HEPA filters. There is also an indicator for accessory, to show whether the access panel is open or closed.
AeraMax Professional 4 Customer Service
Fellowes is a long-history brand in the U.S, and one of the most reasons for their popularity is the great customer service. You can expect the full support from Monday to Friday, via phone at 800-955-0959 or via live chat in their FAQ page.
They don’t provide Free Shipping, but the ship will only be within one to two business days of being placed. You can return or exchange your air purifier within 14 days of receipt. Orders may be subject to a 20% restocking fee and all shipping and handling charges are the responsibility of the customer. If you discover what you believe is a product defect, you need to contact the support within 48 hours of delivery. Fellowes will investigate the claim and notify the freight company of the damage, then they will process the the replacement if possible.
About the warranty, all AeraMax air purifiers are covered by a 3-year warranty. It is enough for you to trust in the name of AeraMax.
This is the ultimate device you can get from AeraMax, which you should use it for public places rather than a private small room, because it would be a waste. It has lower fan power than the Blueair Pro XL, but it can be mountable, to save space for your office much better.
Strong, but it is expensive, too.
