Honeywell has complemented its new HEPA tower line with four new air purifiers, and the Honeywell HPA080 is the smart version of the basic Honeywell HPA075. Honeywell HPA080 Price
Meet the Honeywell HPA080, an impressive new addition to one of the most affordable air purifier ranges and a smart version of the Honeywell HPA075! This is an air purifier that you’ll certainly like if you’re cautious of the warranty policy. The Honeywell HPA080 is backed by a 5-year warranty.
The Honeywell HPA080 offers one of the most reliable experiences on an air purifier at its low price point, something that Honeywell did previously with its Honeywell HPA020B and Honeywell HPA060. The Honeywell HPA080 will have the compact tower design of the HPA060 while using the latest air filter from the HPA020.
Honeywell series has so far been a compelling line of affordable air purifiers, all with certifications from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). The Honeywell HPA080 is the first with its exclusive InSight Smart Sensor, and it nails the competition at only $109. If you dig deep into our deal, the price of this Honeywell HPA080 can be as low as $99.
That’s what the Blue Pure 411 Auto will ask you for with the same smart feature. Other competitors, for example, the Levoit Core 200S, Levoit Core 300 and GermGuardian AC4825, lack Smart Sensor, but they offer better fan power than our current unit.
Based on previous Honeywell history, if the sales of the company’s new compact air purifiers can go as low as the Honeywell HHT290, we wouldn’t expect them to be available. So, we should check out other sections to see whether it’s worth your money or not.

Honeywell HPA080 Design and Size
For the most part, you can’t differentiate the Honeywell HPA080 from the standard Honeywell HPA075. There are a few differences here and there, but they are too minor to make a difference. The new compact tower air purifier has a modern look, which I really like. It’s safe to conclude that Honeywell’s air purifier designs have matured to great lengths in recent years, going from the low-end HPA080 to the high-end Honeywell HPA5300.
The Honeywell HPA080 is a refinement to the design of previous air purifiers, most notably the Honeywell HPA060 and Honeywell HPA160. It sports the same back-to-front airflow system concept, but it widens the front air outlet and removes grills from both sides. It gathers less dust on the sides while keeping the same core airflow system.
The Honeywell HPA080’s dimensions are 19.25 x 10.35 x 12.6 inches, so it’s taller than the previous HPA060. You can place it on a tabletop, and the device can easily match your home decor.
Being a smart air purifier, the Honeywell HPA080 features an air quality indicator, stylized as perforated holes. It could act as a source of lighting for your bedroom.
Honeywell HPA080 has a touch control panel, which feels more modern and premium. However, I love the old control panel with mechanical buttons, as it feels more durable.

The Honeywell HPA080 weighs 11.2 lbs, so it is double the weight of the old HPA060.

Honeywell HPA080 Filters
The Honeywell HPA080 continues to use the same air filter as the Honeywell HPA020B and Honeywell HPA030B, plus an additional customizable air filter for better odor adsorption. So to say, you will have a 3-stage air cleaning system here.
- Pre-filter – The pre-filter is a carbon filter. This will both help adsorb VOCs, gases, and odors and trap larger particles. You will need to replace this filter after 3 months of usage.
- Optional Activated Carbon filter – A honeycombed carbon filter is specially formulated for customization.
- HRFTK1: Formulated with potassium permanganate and activated carbon for faster odor adsorption and reduction.
- HRFTS1: Formulated with treated activated carbon for smoke and odor adsorption.
- HRFTS1: Formulated with activated carbon and zeolite for pet odor adsorption.
- True HEPA filter – The Honeywell HPA080 uses a True HEPA filter to capture up to 99.97% of down to 0.3 microns contaminant particles like pet dander, mold, viruses, bacteria and pollen.
Honeywell continues to implement the developed air filter for newer products, which is reasonable for a big and reliable air filter manufacturer. It can mass produce the air filter, which cuts cost and avoids stocking.

To improve the performance of this air purifier, Honeywell adds a new optional Activated Carbon filter, which you can customize to tailor to your needs. You should know that this is a high-end honeycombed carbon filter that is specially formulated with zeolite or potassium permanganate to increase the efficiency of odor adsorption. This is truly something you can only get from Honeywell air purifiers.
Honeywell HPA080 is expected to show the same result as its brother, the Honeywell HPA075, with the same conditions. It is better than the popular Levoit LV-H132 but falls behind the AeraMax 100. However, the result is so nearly identical that you won’t notice any difference at all.
You will need the pre-filter A and HEPA filter G (HRF-G1) for this Honeywell HPA080, which costs around $30. The HEPA filter costs more, but it can last for 12 months, so it has the best durability on the low-range market.

Honeywell HPA080 Room Coverage
The Honeywell HPA080 is yet another air purifier from Honeywell being verified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). Its exact suggested room size is 100 square feet, but you can even run the air purifier in 170 square feet.
The ACH of Honeywell HPA080 is 5x. So to say, the Honeywell HPA080 will clean your suggested room size 5 times per hour.
The CADR of Honeywell HPA080 is 72 Dust/ 65 Smoke/ 80 Pollen (cfm). It has better fan power than the old compact models of Honeywell, like the Honeywell HPA020B and Honeywell HPA060. It will clean a bit quicker, but its performance is overall not as good as GermGuardian air purifiers.

Honeywell HPA080 Sound
Honeywell HPA080 is basically the smart Honeywell HPA075, so its internals perform the same. Its noise level ranges from 29 to 54 decibels (dB), which is not the best but far from the worst. However, the Smart Sensor can keep the air purifier running in Quiet Clean mode easier.
I must remind you that 54 decibels is lower than the noise level of a household refrigerator. So, if you can tolerate the noise of a refrigerator, there’s no reason you can’t tolerate the Honeywell HPA080.

Honeywell HPA080 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, we need to run an air purifier for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criterion to review to determine if this air purifier is good or not.
Honeywell HPA080 doesn’t require more power consumption for its additional features than the previous Honeywell HPA075, which is a plus. The rated power of the Honeywell HPA080 is only 36 watts, which is decent for an Energy Star air purifier.
On almost every day of using the Honeywell HPA080 for at least 8 hours, it would cost you up to $13 per year.

Honeywell HPA080 Additional Features
Being the smarter version of Honeywell’s new compact tower air purifiers, the Honeywell HPA080 does a better job of changing its name from AllergenPlus to InSight. Yes, the InSight Smart Sensor is its key feature, which monitors and provides real-time feedback on indoor room air quality. An auto mode is enabled to keep matching the fan speed according to the environment.
Other than that, Honeywell HPA080 implements a light dimmer and an auto timer. There is a LED indicator for filter replacement, as usual, to remind you when to replace the air filter. Be sure to reset the indicator after that.

Honeywell HPA080 Customer Service
Honeywell is a market leader in air purifiers, but its customer service is not as friendly as that of competitors. You can reach customer service via the mailbox at the Honeywell Store at 407 N. Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois. But I suggest you call 847-701-3038 for any support questions. Or you can email sales@honeywellstore.com for any problems you experience while on the site or after buying a product. Honeywell is available from Monday to Friday.
It doesn’t have free shipping like Rabbit Air or Alen, and you must notify customer service within one business day of any problems with a third-party shipping service like USPS or FedEx. Otherwise, it will not accept liability for any merchandise damage during transit. Also, the shipment can take up to 10 business days from the date that the order is shipped.
The hardest part is when you want to return one Honeywell air purifier, as you only have 30 days from the date you receive your item to process your return. If there is no transit damage or workmanship defects, you won’t receive the shipping charge (on both the original shipping charge and the return shipping charge) and will have to pay a 10–30% re-stocking fee.
Honeywell’s warranty policy is also among the longest in the industry, with up to 5 years of coverage.

Our verdict
Honeywell HPA080 does a good job at implementing Smart Sensor in such a low-range segment. However, despite its AHAM certification, the air purifier does fairly worse than things like the Levoit Core 300, Winix A230 and Blue Pure 411 Auto. For most people, it isn’t really a problem, especially when the Honeywell HPA080 is backed up by a 5-year warranty.
