Shark HP152 Price
While the Shark HP072 is a decent low-range air purifier, it can’t afford a competition with its current low performance ranking. So here we are with the Shark HP152, ready to deliver higher fan power at “not-too-much-higher” price point.
Yes, the Shark HP152 starts at $249, so it is exactly $50 higher than its previous shorter sibling. It can be easily guessed, if you check the pattern of the previous “Clean Sense” models like the Shark HP102 or Shark HP201.
And you can get the Shark HP152 for a limited time deal at Breathe Quality, with nearly 30% OFF the price. As a result, the Shark HP152 is only $179, making it the same price tag as the smaller HP072. Remember, the deal is only for the black version Shark HP152, not the white HP153.
It still competes against the Blue Pure 311i Max, Levoit Vital 200S, Levoit Core 400S, Winix T810 and Coway Airmega 200M. If you want a USA heritage, you can also buy the GermGuardian AC3200 or Honeywell HPA6000 instead. We have lots of competitions out there for the Shark HP152, and tldr, they all have better performance than our today Shark HP152.

Pure air microforce uses a powerful fan to deliver 4 speeds. The Anti Allergen Nanoseal HEPA captures all particles down to 0.3 microns. NeverChange filter for 5-year period.

Shark HP152 Design and Size
When you buy the Shark HP152, you can expect getting a taller Shark HP072. Because it is taller, at 15 inches to be exact, the curves on both sides look much smoother. It feels like the Shark HP152 is slimmer than its previous sibling, but it isn’t, because the width of the air purifier expands to 10.47 inches.
The Shark HP152 still focuses on the CleanSense IQ display, but it seems smaller when you put the air purifier on the ground. It is still a sleek design, but we won’t look at it as much as we look at our HP072 on the nightstand.
It is the same bottom-to-top airflow system concept, and for an unique tower design like the Shark HP152, this airflow system concept can allow you to place the air purifier anywhere in your home.
For the color variant, the Shark HP152 seems to have only black and white options. If you want the white version, or the Shark HP153, you can look at the deal below.
The Shark HP152 weighs 7.25 lbs, so it is still a compact air purifier that you can move around easily.

Shark HP152 Filters
We check the performance of one air purifiers based on its air filters’ quality and material, as well as the number of air filter types in the testing device. We have the same 4-stage air cleaning system in the Shark HP152, just like the previous Shark HP072.
- Pre-filter – The DebrisDefense pre-filter is able to capture larger contaminates like dust, hair and lint.
- Pet Particle Barrier filter – An extra layer to capture hair and fur.
- Activated Carbon filter – A honeycombed carbon filter protects against household odors from cooking, cleaning products and more.
- True HEPA filter – The True HEPA filter can capture all ultra-fine particles down to 0.3 microns, with efficiency up to 99.97%.
The Shark HP152 does a far better job than its shorter sibling, especially when they’re both tested under the same conditions. If you run the Shark HP152 continuously for 1 hour in a 200-square-foot room, the air purifier can capture 97.36% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. Not the best, actually, but far better than the HP072.

The filter of the Shark HP152 can also last for 5 years, based on the standard of only 52 square feet. It is a far inferior standard than the previous HP072. We also want to let you know that the room coverage of the Shark HP152 is about 150 square feet, and if you run the air purifier at a higher fan speed, the filter life gets reduced.

Shark HP152 Room Coverage
This time, Shark even recommends using the air purifier for a room size of 650 square feet, about 3 times that of the Shark HP072. We also recommend tripling the previous suggestion for the HP072, so 150 square feet.
The ACH of the Shark HP152 is 5X. If you’re going to use the air purifier in the manufacturer’s suggested room size, the Shark HP152 only exchanges 1 time per hour.
The CADR of the Shark HP152 is 105 Dust/ 97 Smoke/ 89 Pollen (cfm). It is quite terrible for an air purifier that costs more than $200.

Shark HP152 Sound
Again, the thick HEPA filter means the Shark HP152 needs a noisy fan while delivering very low CFM. You can expect the Shark HP152 to have a higher lowest noise level at 35 decibels (dB). It is still below the library noise level, so you can accept it.
On its highest speed, the noise level of the Shark HP152 is 54 decibels, which is actually not bad. The airflow difference between the lowest and highest speeds is not that significant.

Shark HP152 Power Consumption
As one of the most criteria when deciding to buy an air purifier, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient.
It seems the Shark HP152 was once in the Energy Star database, and it should stay there because the rated power of the Shark HP152 is good, at 26 watts only.
If you’re going to run the Shark HP152 at least 8 hours per day, the annual cost will be $11.4.

Shark HP152 Additional Features
As the bigger version of the Shark HP072, we can expect the Shark HP152 to get the Odor Neutralizer Technology from the Shark HP232. The control panel is placed nicely in the center of the air outlet, so each time you control the air purifier, you can enjoy the scent from its diffuser.
We still have the “Clean Sense IQ” Smart Sensor, which is basically the signature feature of Shark air purifiers. In short, the Shark HP152 can run automatically, because it can detect the changes in indoor air quality.
Other than that, we still have a Timer, a light dimmer, and an LED indicator for filter replacement.

Our verdict
The Shark HP152 has a better performance ranking than its smaller sibling Shark HP072, but we recommend the Shark HP201 instead if you really want a Shark air purifier. Otherwise, we believe there are many better options out there.
