Airpura T700 Price

Consider that this is a no-fuss air purifier for smoke, especially tobacco smoke – the Airpura T700 is a must-have device for home with smokers. It packs with the same 26-lb Activated carbon filter that you find on the Airpura C700, can be upgraded to be the “Pro Max” version of the Airpura V700, and an enhanced pre-filter. The Airpura T700 is expensive, but thinking about a stealth price hike in the previous Airpura T600, the price tag of $1199 is not something its targeted customers can’t afford. It marks the Airpura main solution to tobacco smoke, and as such, this is one of the best sellers from this brand.

Again, the Airpura T700 is far from the like of the Austin Air HealthMate Plus or Austin Air Bedroom Machine. The main competitors are the IQAir HealthPro Plus and IQAir HealthPro Compact, but it targets the same customers as the IQAir GC MultiGas.

Airpura T700 Design and Size

If you’re familiar with the Airpura air purifier making process, you will know all the “700” series of this company share the same design, size and motor. As a result, the Airpura T700 doesn’t need to be different from its brothers: the Airpura V700, Airpura C700 or even the Airpura UV700.

So to say, the Airpura T700 shares the same 23-inch tall, 15-inch wide powder-coated steel cabinet. It is heavier than, for example the baseline Airpura R700, because it has a bigger carbon filter. Yes, the Airpura T700 weighs 53 lbs, and this time you really love its 4 casters to do the job.

I had the black version during the review, and the cabinet, the dial, the casters, and the outlet port are indistinguishable from its siblings. As far as the external controls go, the same rotary speed dial and the same power switch are in place as on every other 700-series unit. But the instruction to dial it back – to resist the instinct to push the motor to its maximum – is where the Airpura T700’s design philosophy diverges most sharply from the rest of the range. Most air purifiers reward high speed. The Airpura T700 rewards patience.

The Airpura T700 sports the same 360° airflow system concept from the previous Airpura T600 – which is exceptionally good for such a high fan power. To improve the performance, you should place the air purifier at the center of your room.

The Airpura T700 is also free of any plastic, rubber, silicone, or adhesives. The absence of these materials helps to reduce any off-gassing of chemical vapors, both within the clean air stream and in the unit’s end-of-life phase. It is the air purifier that is built from high-quality materials.

Airpura T700 Filters

When we evaluate an air purifier’s performance, the number of filters and the air filter types it uses can tell us a lot. The Airpura T700 uses the same 3-stage air cleaning system like everything else, but with a minor difference.

1. Pre-filter – To protect the main filter, Airpura T700 uses a Tar-Barrier pre-filter, which is engineered to intercept sticky tars. It should be changed every 12 months in light use, and every 3 months in heavy use.
2. Activated Carbon filter – The main reason to buy the Airpura T700 is because of the Activated Carbon filter, which can adsorb a variety of chemical pollutants, odors, and tobacco smoke from the air. It is a 26-lb carbon filter, which has bigger mass than a common Airpura carbon filter.
3. HEPA filter – Airpura T700 only uses a HEPA-Barrier filter, which has 95% efficient at removing any particles as small as 1 micron in size.

The Airpura T700 is a very different product in Airpura “700” series, because it has its own Tar-Barrier pre-filter. The special pre-filter shares the same dimension with 1-inch thick, 570 square inches of surface area, wrapping the full set of filters. It is a denser poly construction, which is necessary in capturing sticky, viscous tar compounds. However, it is too dense that you can’t vacuum to extend its longevity, and the Tar-Barrier is very expensive to replace.

For the other parts, the Airpura T700 is very similar to the Airpura C700: the same carbon filter with better upgrade option and only HEPA-type filter. You can check this comparison table for more information.

Larger carbon bed also means it handles sustained load of wildfire smokes quicker, and the air purifier is far more effective at trapping bigger odor volume. Buying the Airpura T700 DLX and you can get the 26-lb KI Coconut shell carbon, which is very effective for NO₂, SO₂ and asbestos, lead vapors – something that the normal carbon filter only has poor effect.

All Airpura air purifiers are under the same test in Breathe Quality, with the same filter (we only test the True HEPA filter’s performance for the maximum effect of an Airpura air purifier). If you use the original Airpura T700, you will get inferior results.

The HEPA barrier filter of the Airpura T700 also needs to be replaced much sooner, just after one year. The annual filter cost of the Airpura T700 is the highest among the whole “700” series, even higher than the Airpura UV700. However, buying from our deal can significantly reduce the annual filter cost, making the Airpura T700 nearly the same as the Airpura C700.

Airpura T700 Room Coverage

The manufacturer’s suggested room coverage for the Airpura T700, as well as other Airpura air purifiers, is 2500 square feet. The Airpura T700 has a magnificent room coverage, all thanks to its high fan power.

The ACH of Airpura T700 is 2X. Meaning it will clean the manufacturer’s suggested room size two times per hour, or every 30 minutes.

The CADR of Airpura T700 is 635 cfm in general. Airpura air purifiers are currently the highest fan power ones on the market.

Airpura T700 Sound

The Airpura T700 is also marketed as the “quietest units now on the market” – the same as the Airpura V700 and the Airpura C700. On lowest speed, the noise level of the Airpura T700 is just about 28 decibels (dB) – quieter than the whisper.

Airpura makes a special advisor for the Airpura T700, that it should be run at low to medium speeds to allow for adequate dwell time of chemicals, odors and VOCs over the carbon filter. This will help clean your air of the weed smell quicker. At high speed, air moves through the carbon too quickly for adequate contact time with the 26 lbs of activated carbon, reducing adsorption efficiency for the thousands of chemicals and at least 60 carcinogens in tobacco smoke.

On highest fan speed, the Airpura T700 has a noise level of 67 decibels, which is suitable for its high fan power at 635 cfm free flow.

Airpura T700 Power Consumption

In Breathe Quality, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient, and therefore, power consumption is an important criteria to decide which air purifier to buy.

You will be surprised because the Airpura T700 just keep the same power wattage as its predecessor – the Airpura T600: 120 watts. The newer Airpura motor is so good to output better results at the same cost.

Airpura T700 Additional Features

Both the Airpura and Austin Air families are saying no to any kinds of additional features. It seems that the high-end air purifiers are mostly for air purification, not for some flashy features to show off. You shouldn’t be surprise if your Airpura T700 doesn’t have any additional features.

There won’t be even the filter replacement indicator or the Timer. There is only one manual switch to change the fan speed of this machine.
