Boneco W2055A Price

We’ve grown accustomed to the air washers and hybrid air purifiers series from Boneco family by now. But more recently, Boneco has introduced an intriguing second strain of classy-but-affordable devices in the form of the Boneco W2055A (and later, Boneco W2055D).

Earlier this year, the Boneco H680 was released with a brand new hybrid method and the result was impressive. But not everyone can afford such high-end air purifier, so the solution is looking upon the first-class air washer like Boneco W200 and our today Boneco W2055A.

The Boneco W2055A is here with an additional upgrade of fragrance scent, to soothe your mind when using this air washer. Such comfortable function also comes with a distinctive design concept, and Boneco W2055A will charge you higher. The price is officially $327, or €299 in Boneco website. However, it seems Boneco stops selling this air purifier to introduce the Boneco W300, with the same price tag.

The price is now the same as the Sharp KC-860U and Airfree Lotus, which also have humidifier or evaporative function. For the price, you can also look for the Dyson Pure Cool Tower or Dyson Pure Hot+Cool. These air purifiers are quite special because they have cooling and heating power, besides the normal air purifier function using HEPA filter.

Boneco W2055A Design and Size

The design of Boneco W2055A is the first thing we can notice, as it is distinctive from the rest of the family. Actually, it quite looks like some old classic air purifiers from Holmes or Bionaire. It is clearly the inspiration when Boneco acquired the American air purifier brand Envion.

One interesting design difference between the Boneco W2055A and other air washers in Boneco is the same size from the three dimensions. The height, the width and the depth of this Boneco W2055A are all 14 inches.

Boneco W2055A doesn’t separate the air inlet and air outlet anymore, though it still runs the same top-to-bottom air flow system concept. The air grills, again, are made perforated, to make our air purifier more beautiful to look at.

Boneco W2055A weighs 13 lbs, which is not a problem to lift around your home, right?

Boneco W2055A Filters

The Boneco W2055A is an air washer, which is quite different from normal air purifier. It uses an evaporator mat to purify and humidify the air. Below is the air filtration system of Boneco W2055A.

1. Boneco Air Washer System – The textured evaporated mats turn in the water, to add moisture to the air. It also uses the water to wash the air from impurities (like dust, pollen and odors).

The Boneco W2055 runs the same system as any air washer you can find in the world. During the humidifying process, the Boneco W2055A can remove any allergens in the air. Such hybrid process is really clever, which has been popular in Europe for years, but only jumped into the U.S market recently.

Just like so many special air purifiers reviewed in Breathe Quality, I don’t make a test for the Boneco W2055A. The hybrid air purifying system of this air purifier is a lot different from the Sharp KC-850U or Sharp KC-860U, so if you need a proper capture with HEPA filter, you should buy the device of Sharp.

Boneco W2055A Room Coverage

Just like any air purifier with evaporating process, like Airfree Onix 3000 or Airfree Iris 3000, the Boneco W2055A is suggested to cover a large room of 50 m², or 540 square feet by the manufacturer.

The air washer is not really a conventional air purifier, so it doesn’t include ACH or CADR ratings.

Boneco W2055A Sound

Again, just like any air washers of Boneco family, the Boneco W2055A has a really quiet operation. Overall noise level from this air purifier is below 25 decibels (db), which is even quieter than the whisper.

If you are going to use the Boneco W2055A in quiet room, like your bedroom or the public office, you can do it right away.

Boneco W2055A Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.

The power consumption of Boneco W2055A is from 12 watts to 24 watts, which is quite similar to the previous Boneco W200.

If you run the Boneco W2055A all-year round, 8 hours per day, you will need to pay only $4 to $8.

Boneco W2055A Additional Features

Again, Boneco W2055A doesn’t give you anything but a simple dial to change the fan speed, with only 2 speeds.

This time, the air washer of Boneco contains fragrance in an integrated container, so it can spread the essential oils into the air, and creates additional well-being. You can also look for the Oreck XL Professional, or Oreck DualMax for this feature.

The Boneco W2055A holds up to 1.8 gallons, so it can run longer than the previous Boneco W200.

Boneco W2055A Customer Service

After the acquisition of Envion from the Ideal Living Group, Boneco strengthens successfully their market presence in the U.S. Anyone who is familiar with the old well-known American air purifier brand, should know about the Swiss brand right now.

Unfortunately, Boneco only gave their phone number in Switzerland, so you should contact them via mail, at two possible addresses: inquiries@boneco.com or service@boneco.com. They will get back to you as soon as possible.

Boneco has a global manufacturer warranty for their air purifiers, and you will be covered by a 2-year warranty. During this period, for any valid defect discovered and claimed, Boneco will offer you between repair, replacement or refund. You should check all the warranty prerequisites in official Boneco website.

Our verdict

Boneco W2055A trades a little more of your money for an optional fragrance container and more water in the bank. Other than that, this is still a basic entry-level air washer of Boneco.
