The Airfree Onix 3000, or just Airfree P3000 to be common, is not particularly interesting or dynamic, but it gets most of the Airfree basics right. In our Airfree Onix 3000 Review, you will see if the most powerful air purifier of this family suits you or not.
Update: If you love the Nightlight function from Airfree products, you can consider upgrading to the Airfree Iris 3000 or Airfree Lotus. These air purifiers keep the same specs with our today Airfree Onix 3000, but the nightlight is formed of 10 different colors.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
- Totally filterless, no maintenance cost
- Completely silent
- Portable size to use
- Anti-stress light
- Can’t capture the actual particulate matters
- Lacks of additional features
Airfree has completed their air purifier collection with the Airfree Onix 3000, or Airfree P3000 – the standard version of flagship for the family. If you want the most powerful Airfree version, you should choose this device. Okay, let’s dig deep in the Airfree Onix 3000 Review.
Airfree Onix 3000 Price
The Airfree Onix 3000 is the flagship of this company, deciding mainly by the specs. However, this air purifier is also the most affordable one, because we can get the Airfree Iris 3000 or Airfree Lotus to get the multi-color nightlight function. If you don’t like the fancy things, you can settle down on the Airfree Onix 3000 for a cheaper price tag.
This is a solid-enough air purifier, and with the exclusive patented thermodynamic TSS technology, the Airfree Onix 3000 actually stands out of the crowd. But against such strong competition and efficiency of the HEPA filter, what advantages it has seem slight.
First, it can’t capture the actual particulate matters. There are a lot of negative reviews of thinking this device isn’t working. It is also a negligible upgrade from the popular Airfree P1000, and to be honest, the cheaper Airfree Tulip with the multi-color nightlight function is more worthy to be in your bedroom.
The price of this Airfree Onix 3000 is about $299, as can be found in some retailers. With $30 more, the Airfree Iris 3000 seems affordable, and in my opinion, we should buy the device with multi-color nightlight function. It is more beautiful, of course, and it makes our home beautiful, too.
However, when the Dyson Pure Cool Tower is cheaper and it offers a more realistic feature, and the Levoit LV-H133 a more striking design, the Airfree Onix 3000 seems a little bland. But if you want a perfect silent air purifier, or you want to try a little difference from the common filtration technology, then the Airfree Onix 3000 is still a good option for you.

Airfree Onix 3000 Design and Size

With more than 200 reviews on Amazon rated nearly 4/5, I bet the design of Airfree Onix 3000 is still great enough. So the design is applied for the Airfree P1000 and Airfree P2000, but in this new onix black color at least, the air purifier looks particularly refined. It does feel remotely high-end, too.
This Airfree Onix 3000 is the entry-level of the mid-range flagships from the Portuguese company, so it shouldn’t give the feeling of a cheap one. In fact, the finish is fancy that tricks the eyes, and it looks like a chunky bullet with rounded head.
The size of Airfree Onix 3000 remains the same since the first P1000 model, with 10.4 inches in height and 8.4 inches in width. You will have an air purifier of only 3.3 lbs, and it’s really lightweight to use.
One of the key appeals here, is the top lid of this air purifier. Making use of the bottom-to-top air flow system concept, Airfree Onix 3000 has a blue light on top to cover the air outlet. It can work both as an air purifier and an interesting night stand.

Airfree Onix 3000 Filters
The Airfree Onix 3000 is the flagship of one special air purifier brand, which makes use of an exclusive patented thermodynamic technology, as described as below.
- Exclusive Patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology – This technology has been independently tested in real-world conditions by ISO 17025 laboratories. The Airfree Onix 3000 destroys the microorganisms and allergens by heating it to over 400°F (200°C) and instantly sterilizing it.
The process of eliminating microorganisms is similar to boiling the water, Airfree Onix 3000 will continually draw in the air to proceed the heating, to the point that no common germs or viruses could be alive. Then it will cool the air and release to the room. The heating process occurs only inside the device, thus makes the air purifier warm, not hot.
Again, I will repeat telling you to think of this technology as a process of destroying the organic matters, not trapping them. You can only check if the air purifier is working by touching the top lid, and if it’s warm then your device is ready to do the tasks. Remember, the air purifier is only for anyone who have extreme allergies and asthma for mold spores, or viruses.
We should know that the heating process is not like any ionizer or UV light filtration, it won’t release any ozone and as a result, won’t trigger asthma or any breathing issues for your respiratory system.
Without the installation of air filter, you will no longer need to remember the date of filter replacement, or worry about the air filter cost anymore.

Airfree Onix 3000 Room Coverage
Quick comparison for room coverage of Airfree Onix 3000 with Airfree P1000, Airfree P2000 and Airfree Iris 3000.

|Room coverage (sq ft)||650||450||550||650|
We are looking at the most powerful air purifier of the Airfree family, and the manufacturer suggests to use this air purifier in a room up to 650 square feet.
Basically, the Airfree Onix 3000 is not a regular air purifier. It doesn’t use the fan as a mean to pull in the air, while the CADR rating indicates volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner, which is not designed for Airfree air purifiers. Also, the device needs to run gradually for uninterrupted cycle of air, so there is no ACH rating, either.
Actually, we have some CADR rating specs online for the Airfree Onix 3000, which appears to be 325 Dust/ 315 Smoke/ 401 Pollen (cfm). However, I must underline that all AHAM ratings are not applied for the Airfree air purifiers, which don’t have fan power.

Airfree Onix 3000 Sound
Without any fan power, the Airfree Onix 3000 is completely silent. You won’t notice or hear any sound from this air purifier. In fact, you don’t even know if the air purifier is working or not. Airfree suggests to check the top lid and see if it’s warm, the air purifier is working perfectly.
Some people can’t just sleep with even the slightest noise, so the Airfree Onix 3000 is a great solution to both purify your indoor air, and save you from loud noise.

Airfree Onix 3000 Power Consumption
An air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be more efficient, making the high-priority question in Breathe Quality is: “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” To know the answer, we will need to check the power consumption of this air purifier.
The Airfree Onix 3000 must run gradually 24 hours a day to reach the highest efficiency. Moreover, the patented technology of Airfree can’t have its cycle interrupted. The maximum power consumption of this air purifier is 52 watts, which is reasonable for an air purifier with such large room coverage.
If you run the Airfree Onix 3000 for at least 8 hours each day, you need to pay $19 each year.

Airfree Onix 3000 Additional Features
One common thing shared among all Airfree air purifiers is the lack of additional features. For a device of minimalism, Airfree Onix 3000 doesn’t have a simple power button. You just only plug it in, and the air purifier will run instantly.
Airfree Onix 3000 has a smart warning sensor, to warn the users if the unit is installed improperly. Moreover, you can feel the anti-stress blue light from the device, which can be used as a nightlight. There is an on/off button for the light function, however.
Airfree Onix 3000 Customer Service
Though the Airfree’s origin isn’t American, you can find their products in many of the most trusted retailers like Amazon, Sylvane or Walmart. They provide full support via email from their Contact Us page, or via phone at 626-921-4426.
The Airfree air purifiers are also backed up with a 2-year warranty policy. Though this is not the best warranty policy in the air purifier industry, it is enough for you to rely on the devices.
Well, the most powerful Airfree air purifier is out, with a special onix black color. Airfree Onix 3000 can almost double the room coverage of the first Airfree P1000 model, and it still sports the exclusive patented thermodynamic TSS technology.
