Airpura V700 Price

While many high-carbon air purifiers lack the airflow for anything other than small room filtration, the upgrade to an 18-lb enhanced carbon block makes this purifier a little more suitable for larger spaces and serious VOC removal.

The Airpura V700 is a more powerful air purifier than the previous Airpura V600, specializing in dealing with Volatile Organic Compounds. If you're working in environments with high paint and varnish odors, you may consider the Airpura V700 as a solution.

As a direct upgrade to the popular V600, the Airpura V700 costs higher at $1149, because its predecessor get a price increase recently. If you want a budget version, you can consider the Airpura V400.

It is among the newest Airpura air purifiers, with the Airpura P700 and Airpura UV700 are still the most expensive. At its cost, the Airpura V700 far exceeds current Austin Air lineup, like the Austin Air HealthMate Plus and Austin Air Bedroom Machine. The cost is similar to the IQAir HealthPro Plus and IQAir HealthPro Compact.

Airpura V700 Design and Size

I've reviewed a few of the Airpura air purifiers over the last couple of years and have generally been impressed with the build quality and performance. But one thing for sure, the new motor doesn't require a new design, and Airpura keeps the same design as the previous 600 line.

In short, the Airpura V700 looks and feels exactly the same as the Airpura V600, thanks to its very similar housing. It has a reason, so you can try swapping new Airpura filter to magically transform the Airpura V700 into something else, for example the Airpura R700 for cheaper, or the Airpura T700 for a better smoke solution.

A first look at the Airpura V700, and it's very obviously a purpose-built air purifier. This utilitarian design is supported by the all-metal, powder-coated steel cabinet and felt gasket construction, which means it is sealed against off-gassing and built to run continuously if you really want to put it through its paces.

The Airpura V700 runs the same 360º airflow system concept, which is truly necessary for a mobile air purifier with strong fan power. It stays at the same height as the predecessor, at 23 inches height ad 15 inches width.

The Airpura V700 is also free of any plastic, rubber, silicone, or adhesives. The absence of these materials helps to reduce any off-gassing of chemical vapors, both within the clean air stream and in the unit's end-of-life phase. As an air purifier for chemicals, the Airpura V600's capacitors are free of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, which are toxic to humans, animals, and the environment.

As usual, we have the version Airpura V714 for a better performance, but remember you can always upgrade the internal HEPA filter.

The Airpura V700 weighs 45 lbs, so we really need its casters to help moving the unit around your room.

Airpura V700 Filters

When we check an air purifier's performance, the quantity of air filters and what air filter types it used can help us. The Airpura V700 doesn't upgrade what inside the previous Airpura V600, so we still have a 3-stage air cleaning system.

1. Pre-filter – To protect the main filter, Airpura V700 uses a poly pre-filter, which can trap large particles such as pet hair, human hair and large dust. It can be vacuumed clean and should be changed after 6 months or 1 year.
2. Activated Carbon filter – Airpura V700 uses a powerful Activated Carbon filter, which is 18 lbs in weight, containing potassium iodide coconut shell carbon.
3. True HEPA filter – Airpura V700 packs with a True HEPA filter, and can deal with 99.97% of any contaminant particles as small as 0.3 microns in size.

Because the Airpura V700 is a commercial air purifier, we are using a big and thick HEPA filter, with an area of 40 square feet in size. You can upgrade to the Super HEPA 14 filter, just like how we have the Airpura V614 in the past. To compare the Airpura "V" model, we make a simple comparison table.

The main difference between all Airpura models is the internal filter, and our today Airpura V700 is the best solution for dealing with thousands of harmful airborne chemicals and VOCs found in common household items such as: PVC, vinyl, carpets, paint, heating fuels, ammonia, etc. as well as pesticides. The Activated carbon filter inside our Airpura V700 unit contains 18 pounds of KI coconut shell carbon, which is the best option to deal with chemicals. The result is identical between all Airpura 700 series air purifiers that we can test at our labs, and we find the Airpura V700 is currently the best performance air purifier, as it removes 99.99% of all particles down to 0.3 microns, in 1 hour, for a very large room of 500 square feet. As you can see, the revision XE of the IQAir HealthPro Plus can't keep up with the newer Airpura air purifiers.

However, its high efficiency comes at a greater cost, and you must pay $179 for the True HEPA filter, and another $279 for the Activated Carbon filter. Still, the HEPA filter can last up to 5 years, and the carbon filter for up to 2 years, so annual filter cost is acceptable.

Airpura V700 Room Coverage

Airpura recommends using the Airpura V700 for room size up to 2500 square feet, which is 25% larger than the previous Airpura V600. We don't have AHAM test for any Airpura air purifiers, but the room coverage is correct if you are okay with 2 air change per hour.

The ACH of Airpura V700 is 2X. Meaning it will clean the manufacturer's suggested room size two times per hour, or every 30 minutes.

The CADR of Airpura V700 is 635 cfm in general. This is the free-flow fan power. Real-world tests show lower fan power, but it is still higher than most competitors.

Airpura V700 Sound

The Airpura V700 is marketed as the “quietest unit on the market,” but it doesn’t include any specifications to support that claim. On its lowest fan power, the noise level of the Airpura V700 is quite similar to its predecessor, at only 28 decibels (dB). However, on highest power, the noise level can reach up to 68 decibels (dB) – far noisier than the V600 unit.

Still, this is an industrial air purifier, and no air purifier can maintain a low noise level at the highest setting.

Airpura V700 Power Consumption

In Breathe Quality, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient, and therefore, power consumption is an important criteria to decide which air purifier to buy.

The Airpura V700 is indeed powerful, but how much do we pay for such power? Actually not bad, because the highest power consumption of the Airpura V700 is just 120 watts, the same as its brother Airpura V600. Performance per watt, the Airpura V700 is better.

To run the Airpura V700 8 hours per day, you need to pay from $15 to $43 annually.

Airpura V700 Additional Features

Both the Airpura and Austin Air families are saying no to any kinds of additional features. It seems that the high-end air purifiers are mostly for air purification, not for some flashy features to show off. You shouldn't be surprise if your Airpura V600 doesn't have any additional features.

There won't be even the filter replacement indicator or the Timer. There is only one manual switch to change the fan speed of this machine.
