Tough and affordable, the InvisiClean Aura (IC-5018) is certainly the most desired air purifier from this brand. It is so successful to motivate the American company to release the InvisiClean Aura II this year, and discontinue selling any old version of this product. It’s an improvement in virtually every department, and a worthy budget air purifier contender with a beautifully new face. In our today InvisiClean Aura Review, we will know more about a great air purifier which is one of the best air purifiers for mold.
The InvisiClean Aura has been one of the best air purifiers for mold for years, but with the increase in its price recently, perhaps you should consider getting the InvisiClean Claro.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
Sections
- All-round air filtration system
- Low budget, good fan power
- Better-looking than the old version
- Quite noisy in Turbo Mode
- Price fluctuation
InvisiClean can be so popular at the moment all thanks to the great presence of this InvisiClean Aura, which received more than 200 good reviews on Amazon in the first year. Now, with the totally new design, we hope to see the InvisiClean Aura II to be, again, the Amazon’s Choice from now on. Let’s read the InvisiClean Aura Review to know the answer.
InvisiClean Aura Price
InvisiClean doesn’t need to redouble the efforts for this InvisiClean Aura II, the first version is still an air purifier that many want to buy. With a price that keeps the air purifier under the presence of InvisiClean Sensa, you don’t need to wonder what exactly the InvisiClean Aura is for. A taste of difference from others in family, that is.
Those who recall devices from other air purifier brands will have an inkling of what’s going on here. Like its predecessor, the InvisiClean Aura only changes the new coat, which is also the trending design to win the route to the budget market.
Other than that, the InvisiClean Aura II still addresses some of the misgivings we had about the first version, most notably the cheap build for cheap device. We will find out soon, but back to the price of InvisiClean Aura II, it is remaining $199 like the first version, being only $10 more expensive than the InvisiClean 4-in-1 Tower Air Purifier, while having a lot more fan power.
In a market where the vast majority of air purifier manufacturers think they know best, it remains startlingly refreshing to use a device that runs on pure, unadulterated all-round air filtration system. It is even stronger than the PureZone Elite or SilverOnyx with higher fan power, and even exceed Honeywell 17000-S or Coway AP-0512NH for better system.
To find a capable competitor to the InvisiClean Aura, we recommend choosing between the Medify MA-25, Coway AP-1512HH or Honeywell HPA300.
If you still think the price for such a non-popular air purifier like InvisiClean Aura is too high, perhaps you will like the concept of the newer InvisiClean Mini Aura.

InvisiClean Aura Design and Size
InvisiClean Aura has evidently lost its plain front plate for the new version, following the distinctly familiar-looking Winix C535 and Winix C555.
Just about the recognizable shared element with Winix’s design blueprint is the new perforated front air intake in the InvisiClean Aura II. Otherwise, from the back and the top of the new version is still the classic design concept from the first version.
New air intake can actually increase the performance of the InvisiClean Aura. The perforated holes are made with a stylish hexagon to mark the signature of this air purifier. I’ve recorded the new air intake can collect a fairly large amount of dirt and fur from my cat, then I can easily wash and vacuum the front plate later.
This air purifier is really compact for its size, with a height of 18 inches. It seems InvisiClean Aura II is able to keep the same size as the first version, as well as InvisiClean Sensa. You get the same bottom-to-top air flow system concept, from the front air intake to the top air outlet.

We will have the same top control panel from the first version, which is right aligned for all 5 functional buttons to keep minimalist look. This is also one of the most compact console air purifiers in the world, with the weight of only 9 lbs. You can easily move it to anywhere in your home.
The first version of InvisiClean Aura is currently unavailable in their website, but you still can find it on Amazon. You should grab it because the deal can be out of stock anytime.

InvisiClean Aura Filters
To decide the performance of one air purifier, normally we will check the quantity and quality of its air filters. We have an all-round air filtration system (combining all air filter types) in this InvisiClean Aura, which is also the ultimate 4-stage air cleaning system for an air cleaner device.
- Pre-filter – InvisiClean Aura II is now using the latest air filtration system, so the pre-filter can only capture large particles such as dust and hair, as well as adsorb odors from cooking, pets, smoke and more.
- Activated Carbon filter – The independent honeycombed Activated Carbon filter to adsorb odors, chemicals and VOCs much better.
- True HEPA filter – The H13 True HEPA filter can remove 99.97% of airborne particles with size down to 0.3 microns like dust, allergens, pet dander, mold spores and pollen.
- Ionizer – Vital ionize destroys harmful airborne allergens. Can be switched on/off.
- UV-C light filter – Kills germs, mold spores, bacteria and viruses.
Since the beginning, InvisiClean focuses on bringing the all-round air filtration system to improve the efficiency, even with a normal H13 True HEPA filter. The InvisiClean Aura uses a common HEPA filter, which is certified for standard of trapping 99.97% of any particles as small as 0.3 microns. It is supported by an ionizer, which is a technology to electrostatically charge the contaminants into the HEPA’s fibers.
To combat the smoke and odors, you can use the honeycomb Activated Carbon filter to separate from the old pre-filter. This higher carbon version can enhance the odor and gas removal.
Finally, we have the UV-C light bulb, a powerful air filter that can destroy the bacteria, mold spores and viruses in its core. This is the final part of the all-round air filtration system, and it is also the popular 5W bulb being used in some GermGuardian air purifiers, like GermGuardian AC5300B or GermGuardian AC5350B.

I have tested the InvisiClean Aura with the top dogs in the more expensive price range, like the Coway AP-1216L and Levoit LV-PUR131. All air purifiers were running in the same conditions, a room of 150 square feet and duration of 1 hour. The result, our InvisiClean Aura can clean 99.93% of any particles down to 0.3 microns, which is even better than the ozone-free Levoit LV-PUR131.
Keeping the same air filter from previous InvisiClean Sensa, you need to pay $34 for a pack of both True HEPA and Activated Carbon filters of InvisiClean Aura. The air filters can last every 6 – 12 months depending on use.

InvisiClean Aura Room Coverage
With the same internals as the previous version, I believe the InvisiClean Aura still get exactly the room coverage of 320 square feet just like manufacturer’s suggestion. This room size is based on a 8-ft ceiling.
The ACH of InvisiClean Aura is 4X. With this air changes per hour rating, the InvisiClean Aura can clean your room every 15 minutes.
The CADR of InvisiClean Aura is 170 cfm in general. We will have an air purifier with much more fan power than the popular things like Levoit LV-PUR131, PureZone Elite or AeraMax 200.

InvisiClean Aura Sound
InvisiClean is trying to position themselves as the compact air purifier with the silent operation. Things are better on all devices of this family, as the lowest noise level is only 31 decibels, and this is just like the whisper. Sure enough, there are air purifiers with better noise level, but perhaps when we can’t hear the sound, we don’t need such a quieter air purifier.
However, the InvisiClean Aura doesn’t perform well on highest speed. If you run this air purifier on Turbo Mode, the noise level can reach 60 decibels (db), and this isn’t what you want for a bedroom. It is even higher than the average noise level for modern air purifiers with same performance.
So to say, if you want to use the InvisiClean Aura in places requiring silence, you should keep it as low as possible.

InvisiClean Aura Power Consumption
In Breathe Quality, one of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?”. In fact, an air purifier needs to run for a long time (usually more than 8 hours) to be efficient, and therefore, power consumption is an important criteria to decide which air purifier to buy.
Like its brothers, the InvisiClean Aura can run as low as only 3 watts, which is the best energy-saving air purifier we can get for such high fan power. If you run the air purifier on turbo mode, the power consumption is still great, with only 47 watts.
If you run the InvisiClean Aura for 8 hours each day, you only need to pay $1 – $17 each year.

InvisiClean Aura Additional Features
InvisiClean typically has the best air sensor for their air purifiers, specially made by Sharp, one of the leaders in worldwide air purifier manufacturers. But our today InvisiClean Aura, even for the InvisiClean Aura II, doesn’t include this wonderful feature.
If you buy the InvisiClean Aura, beside the Turbo Mode, you only have the Sleep Mode, which is just a feature to turn off all lights. And yes, you still have the basic timer to do all the schedule tasks for InvisiClean Aura.

Finally, the InvisiClean Aura has a LED indicator for filter replacement, so you don’t need to remember the date by yourself.

Our verdict
InvisiClean Aura II is one of the best air purifiers to go for this price range. It has a good all-round air filtration system, with good-quality True HEPA filter and decent ionizer. The fan power is much stronger than other models in its class, and it keeps the power consumption as low as possible.
