The Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 is a capable air purifier, however it suffers for the fact it’s nowhere near as capable as the Rowenta PU3040 and Rowenta PU6020, yet it’s not significantly cheaper either. Despite being a capable performer, the Rowenta PU3030 is somehow already obsolete. However, I recommend you to check the Rowenta PU3030 Review, to see if you should go for this device.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:

- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.

- Energy Star power consumption
- Low CADR rating for the price
- No NanoCaptur technology
- No official online Rowenta store

Rowenta brings the traditional console air purifier style for the U.S customers, both in the cheaper model Rowenta PU3030 and the signature Rowenta PU3040. In our today Rowenta PU3030 Review, we will check for the cheaper.
Other Rowenta’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Price
After packing every high-spec component it could into the range-topping Rowenta Pure Air PU3040, the Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 comes as a similarly impractically proportioned yet altogether more practically priced alternative.
The Rowenta Pure Air PU3030’s recommended price of around $279, which is all very well, but I do wonder if reducing just $20 for the lack of the exclusive NanoCaptur filter will do this air purifier any good.
If you are not a pure fan of using console air purifier, then the couple of new Rowenta air purifiers may impress you. It felt excessive in almost every way, but there was an undeniable thrill to having the newest and fastest components (or so it seemed) locked up in an air purifier similar to the Honeywell HPA300.
At its price, the Rowenta PU3030 is the main competitor with the Bissell air320, Bissell air400, Oreck Air Response Large and Medify MA-40. These aforementioned air purifiers are from the native U.S market, so they all have more advantages in customer services than our today reviewed unit. However, if you worship the German engineering and technology, you shouldn’t miss this air purifier, especially when it can go as low as $200 from our deal.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Design and Size
The Rowenta PU3030 and its brother – the Rowenta PU3040 make me feel like the console air purifier style of Honeywell HPA300 and Inofia PM1320. It shares the same size with the height of 22.6 inches and the width of 17 inches.
Even the curves on edges seems like an ordinary design concept with no superior part, but it is enough to excite or wholly convince customers to buy it.
With larger base, you’d better make space for the Rowenta PU3030. It somehow feels less imposing than the Rowenta PU6020, however. Rowenta has filed off the firm style and gone with more traditional design, with a white color that doesn’t exactly demand your full attention.
Rowenta PU3030 uses the bottom-to-top air flow system concept, with perforated holes for the air intake, and a signature wavy grills for the air outlet. Sadly, you can’t adjust the air outlet grills anymore.
Rowenta still goes for minimalism in making top control panel, but this time it’s a bit more confusing with the new order. I wish it could be just like the Rowenta PU4020.
At 17.5 lbs, the Rowenta PU3030 is quite heavy. In fact, this is the heaviest air purifier in the whole Rowenta family.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Filters
The Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 is the only exception in the family without the NanoCaptur technology, so it just has a simple 3-stage air cleaning system.
- Pre-filter – A washable pre-filter traps the larger objects of pollutants like fur, hair and large dust.
- Activated Carbon filter – The honeycombed carbon filter catches odors, gases and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
- True HEPA filter – With the True HEPA filter, this air purifier can capture 99.95% of as small as 0.3 microns allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and fungi particles.
Rowenta PU3030 is designed to be the budget option for the real Rowenta Pure Air PU3040, so it doesn’t have the powerful NanoCaptur technology, which guarantees to destroy 99.99% of formaldehyde. I still run it in the same test as its brothers, within a room of 150 square feet. As a result, the Rowenta PU3030 is just only behind the performance of the Trusens Z-3000 and Vornado PCO375DC, with high efficiency of trapping 99.92% of all airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. In the same test, the Bissell air320 and Oransi OV200 scored much lower.
There is only one problem, Rowenta doesn’t even announce the main air filters for this Rowenta Pure Air PU3030, even on their official website. At the moment, I can’t get the filter replacement for you, so if you decide to buy this Rowenta air purifier, you should think carefully.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Room Coverage
Just like any Rowenta air purifiers, the new console Rowenta PU3030 is tested and certified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), with the room coverage of 248 square feet.
The ACH of Rowenta PU3030 is 10X. It is impressive, as the Rowenta PU3030 can clean your room every 6 minutes.
The CADR of Rowenta PU3030 is 164 Dust/ 158 Smoke/ 164 Pollen (cfm). In this price range, the fan power of Rowenta PU3030 isn’t as impressive as any Winix, Coway or Honeywell air purifiers. Actually, this fan power is only for an air purifier less than $150, which is quite disappointed.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Sound
I’ve briefly discussed the quiet operation of this Rowenta PU3030, as this feature really is the air purifier’s single major defining feature.
The Rowenta PU3030’s very reason for existence is to run quietly, whether on low or high fan speed. It can be as low as 24 decibels (db), and I believe you can’t notice any sound from the air purifier in this mode. Yes, it is as silent as the whisper.
On highest speed, the noise level of Rowenta PU3030 is just 50 decibels, and I find it a lot better than the giant Rowenta PU6020. With that in mind, let’s consider running the Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 in bedroom.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
The Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 deserves its Energy Star rating title, because with nearly the same fan power, it cuts the power consumption of Rowenta PU6020 to just only 68 watts. This is also the power consumption of the next Rowenta PU3040.
For quick math, if you run the Rowenta PU3030 8 hours per day, you need to pay $24 each year.

Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Additional Features
Another reason to have a Rowenta air purifier in your home is thanks to its additional features. The Smart Sensor is still available on this Rowenta PU3030, and now it continues to be fairly unique in the wider sensor landscape. This time, Rowenta uses 3 light indicators to help you check the air quality index easily, and this feature also make the air purifier more beautiful.
Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 has 2 different auto modes, with one is set for daytime, when you will want your air purifier to select between medium and high fan power. There is one more auto mode for nighttime, when you need the device to run as quiet as possible.
Again, I continue to appreciate the basic features of a Rowenta air purifier, like a Manual Dimmer setting, a basic Timer and LED indicators for filter replacement. All these additional features help me live easier in the long run.
Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 Customer Service

All air purifiers of Rowenta are only covered by a 1-year warranty, but Rowenta offers to repair the products even after the guarantee period. Check Rowenta website to find the nearest repair center.
While the Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 is a perfectly capable air purifier, it’s essentially just a chunkier and all-round less desirable version of both the Rowenta Pure Air PU3040 and Rowenta Intense Pure Air XL PU6020, and I’m not sure that’s good enough.
With a number of merely average components and a price tag that’s not as cheap as it should be, it’s tough to see who the Rowenta Pure Air PU3030 will appeal to.
- Cleaning Power
- Power Consumption
A capable, but not good enough air purifier.
