Well, this Kenmore 83395 has a more-than-familiar feel about it, given that this model once again uses the same design concept as the Kenmore 83394 Small Room. You’ll certainly find this design again in the next Kenmore 83396 Large Room.

So what should we notice about this Kenmore 83395 Medium Room? It has a relative power to the flagship, but it has more balance in both size and price. The official price tag of this Kenmore 83395 is only $165, so it sits in the middle of its two brothers.

For the price it is similar to the Winix 5500-2, Oreck Air Response Small and Medify MA-25. If you can afford a bit more, you will get the air purifiers with high fan power and necessary Smart Sensor, like the Vornado AC550 or Elechomes UC3101, and of course, Coway AP-1512HH.

Kenmore 83395 Medium Room Design and Size

Tradition of the native America air purifiers is a whole set of devices in different size, and we can easily conclude the picture of this Kenmore 83395 Medium Room. It is just a middle brother, with the middle size in the Kenmore family.

So you get an air purifier with the height of 16 inches and the width of 17 inches. This air purifier can be lying down or standing upright, depending on your liking.

The Kenmore family shares the same air filtration system, with only the difference in air filter’s size and base fan power. So to say, in this Kenmore 83395 Medium Room is again a 3-stage air cleaning system.

1. Pre-filter – A pre-filter is attached with Activated Carbon filter, so it can both trap the large pollutants and odors.
2. True HEPA filter – The Kenmore 83395 uses a True HEPA filter to capture 99.97% of airborne asthma and allergy triggering contaminates as small as 0.3 microns.
3. Ionizer – It adds another stage of air filtration, to increase the overall performance. Can be switched on/off.

The Kenmore 83395 Medium Room is able to withstand the same test as its bigger brother, in the room of 200 square feet. As you can see, its overall performance in 1 hour is relatively the same, as it can trap 99.7% of all airborne particles down to 0.3 microns in this test. Well, it was still behind the Sharp FP-K50UW and Winix AM90, but it also has a slightly cheaper price.

For this air purifier, you need to use the air filter 83190 that costs $39 upfront. Sadly, I can’t find any deal for this filter replacement. It is really hard to get air purifiers and air filters of Kenmore today.

Kenmore 83395 Room Coverage

Again, we know that we can only use Kenmore 83395 for medium rooms or smaller, and it is recommended for any room size up to 280 square feet.

The ACH of Kenmore 83395 is 4X. This ACH rating means it will exchange the air in your room every 15 minutes.

The CADR of Kenmore 83395 is 191 Dust/ 181 Smoke/ 191 Pollen (cfm). It is nearly the same fan power as the Kenmore 83396 Large Room.

Kenmore 83395 Medium Room Sound

Again, the Kenmore 83395 Medium Room keeps the amazing whisper-quiet operation on lowest speed. It is truly the gold feature for an air purifier with nearly double the fan power of Kenmore 83394 Small Room. So to say, the noise level is only 29 decibels (db), and I love to use it while sleeping.

On highest speed, the noise level is a bit higher, capped at 53.2 decibels. It is still like the normal conversation at home, and it is only for quick cleaning, which you don’t use for most of the time.

Kenmore 83395 Medium Room Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, the Kenmore 83395 Medium Room sticks together with its brothers, so it has exactly the same additional features that the Kenmore 83394 Small Room previously offered.

That being said, you still have the basic settings like a Timer, to schedule time off after 1, 2 or 4 hours. There are two LED indicators for filter replacement, so you don’t need to worry about swapping in a new filter.

Well, at this price range, you should expect the Smart Sensor on your air purifier, something that you can’t have in this Kenmore 83395 Medium Room. I recommend you to look for the Levoit LV-PUR131, RENPHO RP-AP001S or Winix C545 for any high-end additional features that you’ve ever dreamed of.
