China is not only the largest industrial manufacturers for all kinds of products in the world, but this country is also the home of many good-to-great electronic product companies. There are Inofia, Elechomes and Hathaspace when we are looking for an air purifier, and to be honest, their products are too attractive to not take a review. The Inofia PM1608 is a valuable upgrade from the Amazon’s Choice Inofia PM1539. Well, today we will have an Inofia PM1608 Review, to learn about the best of Inofia.
However, since all of Inofia air purifiers have been disappeared instantly in the market, perhaps we should come back to the Airmega 400 and Airmega 300. Even the new Levoit Core 600S does much better in everything in comparison to the old Inofia air purifiers.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
Sections
- New composite air filter, easy to use
- High value for the price
- Has many smart features
- May have strange smell from the air filter
- Problem with app and sensor
- High filter cost
Inofia is just a small Chinese company for making not only air purifier, but also mattresses and pillows. Though not being really expertise of making air purifier, this company has shown the improvement of products through the flagship – Inofia PM1608. This air purifier is also the first to receive the certification of California Air Resources Board (CARB) for meeting a safety ozone emission concentration limit. Well, so I guess you are ready for the Inofia PM1608 Review, right?
Other Inofia’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Inofia PM1608 Price
In fact, you may not know about the model name of “Inofia PM1608”, as the device comes with a more complex name of “Inofia Air Purifier with True HEPA Air Filter, Wi-Fi Intelligent Control”. However, the model name helps us to separate this flagship with the previous model – Inofia PM1539.
While it doesn’t really bring any innovation in design or the air filter quality, it’s still excellent value for money with higher fan power and decent smart features. That means, it can cover a room with larger size than any of its predecessors.
The Inofia PM1608, for an unknown reason, can’t be found in the official Inofia US website for a while. However, you can still check the product on Amazon. The price of this Inofia PM1608 is $399 at the time of writing, but will change depending on the deal from the supplier. Check our deal for the real-time price below.
It is surely to owe the design concept from the well-known Airmega 400S, but it can keep the price just only half of the Coway flagship. There are still a couple of differences in terms of design, so don’t worry that you might mistake these air purifiers.
It is also in the competition with lots of mid-range air purifier from big brands, like the couple of the Dyson Pure Cool Tower and Dyson Pure Cool Link Desk of the famous British brand Dyson, or the air purifiers from American brands like the Rabbit Air BioGS 2.0 and Levoit LV-H134.
If you love the fancy smart features like Wi-Fi control and Smart Sensor, you should check the Winix XLC and Airmega 250, too. They both have better performance and more stable smart features than the Inofia PM1608.
Inofia air purifier with True HEPA air filter, Wi-Fi intelligent control, air cleaner for large room, for spaces up to 1300 sq ft, PM1608.
Manufacturer’s suggestion for up to 1300 square feet. Comes with 5 fan speeds and many smart features.

Inofia PM1608 Design and Size
Like I’ve mentioned above, the Inofia PM1608 doesn’t bring any new design concept this time. At 27.4 inches in height and 15 inches in width, this air purifier is bigger than the previous Inofia PM1539 with only 23 inches in height. Such dimensions make the device even on par with the Airmega 400S and Levoit LV-H135.
While the finish is quite similar to the predecessor, it feels more unstable for a device made of plastic with such size. Despite this, though, the Inofia PM1608 is 38.8 lbs, and I bet it can stand on the ground firmly.
However, the fact that it’s plastic means it scratches much more easily than other high-end air purifiers made of metal, and because the device is white and you want to keep it looking pristine, you should move the air purifier near the corner of your room.
Then, other parts remain the same as the PM1539, as we only have a dual-side air intake like Blueair Classic 605, a very well-designed top air outlet and, finally, a display screen to show you the indoor air quality status, the fan speed, current temperature and humidity and many other setting (more on which in the “additional features” section).

Inofia PM1608 Filters
When we check the performance of an air purifier, we need to know about the air filter types, as well as the quantity and quality of these air filters inside the device. Again, the Inofia PM1608 makes use of an all-in-one composite filter, described as below.
- Pre-filter – An elementary pre-filter helps you block the larger particles like dust, hair and pet dander. The filter should be washed regularly.
- Composite filter – A combination of both Activated Carbon filter and True HEPA filter, this filter can both capture up to 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns in size, such as dust, hair, pollen, mold spores, dander and bacteria. It can also adsorb smoke, odors and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
An all-in-one air filter is a trend at the moment, and it helps you through the complex filter installation process. With multiple-layer air filtration, you also need the device to have good seal, so the air purifier can stop the leakage of dirty air completely. For an affordable device like Inofia PM1608, it is better to use the all-in-one composite air filter.

The Inofia PM1608 gets a next level of testing, thanks for its high fan power. I used the machine in a room of 400 square feet for 1 hour. The comparative air purifiers this time are the Winix XQ, GermGuardian AC9400W, Oransi Max and Austin Air HealthMate Jr. Our today Inofia PM1608 finished the test with decent efficiency: 99.85% removal of any particles down to 0.3 microns.
Again, in the U.S, you can only buy the filter replacement from the most popular retailers like Amazon. The air filter needs to be replaced every 3 to 6 months, meaning it has a shorter life span than most others.

Inofia PM1608 Room Coverage
This is the flagship of the Chinese company, and it seems the manufacturer didn’t forget to show off their large room coverage. The device is suggested for a room of 1300 square feet.
The ACH of Inofia PM1608 is 2X to 4X. With this air changes per hour rating, the air purifier can clean your room every 15 minutes.
The CADR of Inofia PM1608 is 400 cfm in general. This CADR rating is only after the performance of the Biota Bot MM608I in the same price range, and we can feel the air exchange in every corner of the large room.

Inofia PM1608 Sound
I am really impressed that the flagship of Inofia can keep the noise level, again, as low as 34 decibels, which is just like the whisper. You won’t notice any sound from the lowest setting theoretically, but I’ve found many reviews telling that the cheap build can cause crackling noise. It is not in the case of our testing unit, but you should notice this problem.
This Inofia PM1608 consists of 5 different fan speeds, and the highest noise level is 67 decibels (db), which is fairly loud for you to withstand, especially when you need the silence.

Inofia PM1608 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
To operate a machine with such high fan power, normally we will need much more power consumption than the average air purifier. Our today Inofia PM1608 has a rated power of 75 watts, which is 15% increase in the energy consumption from the previous Inofia PM1539.
If you run the Inofia PM1608 for at least 8 hours per day, you will need to pay $27 each year.

Inofia PM1608 Additional Features
Just like the smaller Inofia PM1539, Inofia PM1608 is proud to call itself a smart air purifier, with the Wi-Fi intelligent control. Via a connected app, you can remotely control your device from anywhere in the house, providing that you have connection with Internet.
Another feature that’s worth mentioning is the Smart Sensor, a very handy feature to respond to any changes of the indoor air quality by adjusting the fan speed automatically. This feature is only available in some high-end air purifiers, and I’ll be glad to have it in Inofia PM1608. Sadly, there were a lot of complaints for the usefulness of this air sensor to be inaccurate, or not working at all.

You can find many helpful information from the LED display indicator, from the current temperature and humidity of your room, the wind speed status, to the basic Timer and LED indicator for filter life. There is, again, the Sleep Mode setting, to reduce the noise level to the lowest, as well as turn off all the lights from indicator. Finally, we have a Child Lock option, to temporarily disable the function of all other buttons in Inofia PM1608. This feature can help prevent accidental changes of settings by your children or pets.

Our verdict
The upgraded version of the popular Inofia PM1539, Inofia PM1608 has everything to be the flagship of the Chinese air purifier company. There are still many negative reviews for the cheap build and malfunction of the air sensor and Wi-Fi capability. But overall, this air purifier is good to try, especially when it’s really worth your money.
