Swiss brand Boneco is not only famous for their long history in air purifier industry, but they also are the first company to bring the concept of hybrid air purifier, with an additional humidifier function through the spinner. The Boneco H300 is the entry-level hybrid air purifier, which has been only available on Amazon recently. With our today Boneco H300 Review, you will definitely see why you should get this air purifier instead of the old Boneco air washer.
Other Boneco’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Boneco H300 Price
The Boneco H300 is the device you want if you like the concept of air washer of Boneco W200, and you still need some serious protection against allergens. In the next section, you will see how much likely both devices are the same, but here is the first difference.
Strange, because Boneco doesn’t state the price of this Boneco H300 in their official website, just like every other common air purifiers and air washers. We can only guess that the Swiss company is gathering data to give the most proper pricing to the new models, so Boneco H300 and later, Boneco H400 need more time for confirmation.
There is more power inside the Boneco H300, thanks to the introduction of the HEPA filter. Obviously, the price of this Boneco H300 will be much higher than an only air washer like Boneco W200 or Boneco W300. We can’t see the official price tag of Boneco H300 now, but it should be at least $379 in some well-known retailers online.
Though being the most affordable hybrid air purifier of Boneco, Boneco H300 is now as expensive as a Sharp KC-860U or Airfree Lotus. If you prefer a high-end air filtration system, you can also look for the Rabbit Air BioGS 2.0 or AIRMEGA 300 at the moment.

Boneco H300 Design and Size
If you jump to this review from the previous one I made for Boneco W200, you will be quite disappointed because the Boneco H300 is using the same design concept as the popular air washer.
Put these air purifiers side by side, you still can spot the difference, Boneco H300 is much bigger. To give the device space for putting the air filters, Boneco H300 is taller, with the height of 21 inches, compared to only 16 inches from the Boneco W200.
It would be too easy to say the Boneco H300 is just a carbon copy of the Boneco W200… but it’s very, very close. It uses a strange top-to-bottom air flow system concept, which is inverse from any common air purifiers you can find in market. The air flow direction is one innovation from Boneco, which allows the air washer and humidifier to work properly.

The air inlet is unusually placed on top, and it sticks very near to the pre-filter. As a result, it saves more space for a HEPA filter, and doesn’t buff the size of Boneco H300 much. We still have a drum, or spinning discs to move the water from the tank, to wash and humidify the filtered air, before releasing it out from the air outlet.
It is obviously heavier with the new size, and Boneco H300 weighs 12 lbs. Using two convenient handles from both sides, you can still bring the air purifier anywhere in your home.

Boneco H300 Filters
As a hybrid air purifier, the Boneco H300 need a proper air filtration system, and it has a 3-stage air cleaning system as below.
- Pre-filter – Boneco H300 has a pre-filter to help capture the large objects of pollutants, like pet hair, fur or large dust.
- HEPA filter – The core filter of Boneco system, which can remove 97% of PM 2.5 particles, like dust, pollen, hair and dust mites. You can also upgrade to a True HEPA filter, combined with Activated Carbon filter for better performance.
- Boneco Air Washer System – The textured evaporated mats turn in the water, to add moisture to the air. It also uses the water to wash the air from impurities (like dust, pollen and odors).
This is the first review for a real Boneco air purifier, which only uses the air washer system as an additional function for filtering the air. Boneco H300 has a default HEPA filter (AH300 Pollen filter), and you can upgrade to the AH300 Comfort filter to have an upgraded system.
In the higher-end air filter, Boneco will use a True HEPA filter to increase the efficiency to 99.97%. The AH300 Comfort filter will also include a layer of carbon filter and anti-microbial infusion, so it can bind the harmful gases such as nitric dioxide and/or sulfur dioxide. The biofunctional layer inside the air filter can restrict the growth of bacteria and mold on the surface filter, which is also enhanced with the original silver stick to increase the life span of the humidifier.
My Boneco H300 unit only uses the default Pollen filter, and I made a simple test for it in a room of 100 square feet, and let it run in a full hour. I also chose the Sharp KC-860U to compare with the performance of our today air purifier. As you can see from the comparison chart below, the Boneco H300 works poorly without a True HEPA filter, so it can only clean 99.7% of all particles down to 0.3 microns, which is only the efficiency of a $80 Levoit Vista 200. Perhaps the stronger AH300 Comfort filter will give a better result, but I can only confirm later.
The default AH300 Pollen filter only costs you $27, and it can last for 1 whole year. To upgrade to the superior AH300 Comfort filter, you need to pay $49, and I think it is still more affordable than other HEPA filters in the same performance.

Boneco H300 Room Coverage
The nature of Boneco H300 is still an air washer with air purifier function, so the Swiss company, again, recommends to use it in a room of 50 m2, or 540 square feet.
The ACH of Boneco H300 is 2X to 4X. This air purifier can clean your room as frequently as 4 times per hour.
The CADR of Boneco H300 is only 53 cfm in general, which is really weak for an air purifier suggested for a room of 500 square feet. I highly recommend to use the air purifier mostly for personal use.

Boneco H300 Sound
Even with a HEPA filter, the Boneco H300 has already been independently judged to the very best on the market, bringing with such quiet operation that not many other devices can compare.
The Boneco H300 has 6 fan speeds, with the lowest setting be only 28 decibels, and such noise is lower than the whisper. You won’t notice any sound when running the air purifier in this setting.
Even when you turn the device on highest setting, the noise level is still only 51 decibels (db), which is lower than most air purifiers in the market.

Boneco H300 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” because we need to run an air purifier for a constant long time, and power consumption is really a thing to consider.
Boneco H300 is truly an energy-saving air purifier, with highest power consumption to be only 9.6 watts. This air purifier can also go as low as 3.6 watts, with 0.6 watts as the standby rated power. If you worry about your energy bill, the Boneco H300 is your real savior.
If you run the Boneco H300 all-year round, 8 hours per day, you will need to pay only $1 to $3.4. Yes, it is a lot cheaper than a Big Mac.

Boneco H300 Additional Features
Boneco excels not only in terms of low power consumption and quiet operation, but also because of its high-end additional features.
According to the marketing materials, you can get an integrated sensor to measure the relative humidity level in real time and automatically adjusts its evaporator output. Boneco H300 also consists of an integrated aroma compartment, to fill your home with favorite aroma. Well, maybe the air purifier is much more likely to be a humidifier, rather than an air purifier, right?
You can connect this air purifier with your smartphone app, thanks to Bluetooth connection. The app offers you some intuitive guides, as well as full control on the Boneco H300
It comes with a Sleep Mode, so you can be sure to have a restful sleep at night. Sadly, I don’t find the LED indicator for filter replacement anywhere, so you should remember the date manually. There is only one indicator to help you know when to fill the water tank.

Our verdict
The hybrid air purifier Boneco H300 is smart and flexible to use, but its fan power is quite weak for an air purifier with such price. However, as an air purifier of a trusted brand, you should get the Boneco H300 especially when you live in extremely dry areas.
