Airfree Tulip price is around $199, which is $20 higher than the Airfree P1000. It is sold widely in nearly every popular retailers in the United States.

With the same room coverage as the Airfree Tulip, you can select between the Honeywell HPA300 and Blue Pure 211. These air purifiers have the best value fan power for the price, which are quite noisy at the highest setting. However, they all can capture the actual particulate matters, and you will see the difference in indoor air quality immediately.

Airfree Tulip Design and Size

In pictures the Airfree Tulip looks curvy and sleek, but get the device in the house and it feels oddly hollow.

We get used to the old compact size of the previous Airfree P1000, which are just like a soccer ball. But Airfree played up the size to make the new Airfree Tulip with the height of 13.3 inches. It’s not thinner, though, as the width and depth are both 5.7 inches. Perhaps the smaller Airfree BabyAir is more suitable for most bedrooms than its big brother.

Airfree Tulip’s design is very clean too, with only the big nightlight lid as the main focus. The air purifier still remains the bottom-to-top air flow system concept, and this is the only usable air flow direction possible for the lineup of Airfree. The air intake grill is larger than usual, and it is opened, rather than hidden under the body like the Airfree P2000 or P1000. The air outlet on top is decorated with a full rainbow of colors from the nightlight function.

In my opinion, it’s far better to make Airfree devices tabletop of wall-mountable like the Airfree FIT800, because these air purifiers don’t make use of regular fan power, instead they use simple convection to move the air. Making a device to stand on ground, or on the carpet will reduce the efficiency of this air purifier.

The Airfree Tulip is one of the most lightweight air purifiers in the world, with the weight of only 2.4 lbs. You can move it anywhere in your home, but be careful, because interrupting the cycle results in loss of efficiency.

Like any other Airfree air purifiers, the Airfree Tulip runs an exclusive patented thermodynamic technology, as described as below.

1. Exclusive Patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology – This technology has been independently tested in real-world conditions by ISO 17025 laboratories. The Airfree Tulip destroys the microorganisms and allergens by heating it to over 400°F (200°C) and instantly sterilizing it.

The process of eliminating microorganisms is similar to boiling the water, Airfree Tulip will continually draw in the air to proceed the heating, to the point that no common germs or viruses could be alive. Then it will cool the air and release to the room. The heating process occurs only inside the device, thus makes the air purifier warm, not hot.

You should think of this technology as a process of destroying the organic matters, not trapping them. So if you want a device to clean the dirt or pet hair out of your indoor air, you will be disappointed. Basically, the Airfree Tulip is not a regular air purifier. It doesn’t use the fan as a mean to pull in the air, while the CADR rating indicates volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner, which is not designed for Airfree air purifiers. Also, the device needs to run gradually for uninterrupted cycle of air, so there is no ACH rating, either.

Airfree Tulip Sound

Without any fan power, the Airfree Tulip is completely silent. You won’t notice or hear any sound from this air purifier. In fact, you don’t even know if the air purifier is working or not. Airfree suggests to check the top lid and see if it’s warm, the air purifier is working perfectly.
