Unofficially titled the “PuriCare 360 mini,” the LG PuriCare AeroHit (AS351GW30) is an impressive air purifier on its own. While it lacks certain flagship features and, annoyingly, a lower CADR rating, the slim 360° design and True HEPA filtration are stand-out inclusions that you should consider for the price. While the LG PuriCare 360 gets most of the company’s support to advertise into its customers, the LG PuriCare AeroHit is more of a hidden gem that LG wants to deliver for budget-conscious consumers. Not a bad take, especially when we never get a proper budget LG air purifier.

Even then, the LG PuriCare AeroHit isn’t cheap. Its launch price is $199, which is not a surprise considering its actual size, but it means this budget LG air purifier is competing against some of the more expensive air purifiers from well-known brands, such as the Levoit Core 400S, Blue Pure 311i Max, Winix T830 and even new Levoit Vital Pet Pro.

For LG fans, they can celebrate because the LG PuriCare AeroHit is as cheap as the old personal device LG PuriCare Mini, and this is a real console air purifier.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Design and Size

The LG PuriCare AeroHit calls out to space-conscious buyers with its slim tower design that pushes away bulk in favor of more usable floor space. It’s actually shorter and slimmer than the LG PuriCare 360 and LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 at only 19.7 inches in height and 9.4 inches of diameter. However, the difference is quite slight, and you should consider the LG PuriCare AeroHit another tower air purifier.

While this doesn’t impact general placement all that much, the smaller footprint makes it easier to tuck into a corner. Still, this is a 360° air purifier, so you should place it at least 2-3 feet away from the wall.

The LG PuriCare AeroHit has only one color option, which is the main color scheming from LG. In fact, putting side-by-side and you can sometimes mistake this air purifier with the more popular LG PuriCare 360. The most distinctive feature is the top control panel, which is quite simple for the LG PuriCare AeroHit.

You can easily move the LG PuriCare AeroHit anywhere in your house, as its weight is just 9.9 lbs.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Filters

Again, we have an LG air purifier with 3-stage air filtration system. The LG PuriCare AeroHit doesn’t stray far from its brothers, using a 3-in-1 mechanical filter.

1. Pre-filter – A mesh pre-filter helps capture large particles before they contact the HEPA filter. You can add an additional specialized pre-filter outside the base filter to target pet odor or smoke.
2. True HEPA filter – The main HEPA filter captures 99.97% of down to 0.3 microns allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and fungi particles.
3. Activated Carbon filter – The deodorization filter catches odors, smoke and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) like formaldehyde.

We put the LG PuriCare AeroHit through our standard test in a 200-square-foot room, running continuously for 1 hour. The LG PuriCare AeroHit does quite well, though it still falls behind the Medify MA-35 and Winix 5510. It’s better than the Alen BreatheSmart 25i in the same test.

At the moment, we don’t have the information of the LG PuriCare AeroHit’s filter anywhere. We will update its price as soon as possible, but know that you need to replace the filter after 1 year. This is the usual LG filter life.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Room Coverage

The LG PuriCare AeroHit is suggested by LG for rooms up to 1000 square feet, but again we recommend to use this air purifier for room coverage of 208 square feet instead.

The ACH of the LG PuriCare AeroHit AS351GW30 is 4X. At maximum power, the air purifier can clean the air every 15 minutes.

The CADR of the LG PuriCare AeroHit AS351GW30 is 134 cfm in general.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Sound

On its lowest speed, the LG PuriCare AeroHit isn’t as good as the LG PuriCare 360, but it is still ultra quiet at 25 decibels (dB). It is good for a tower air purifier at this price range.

On the highest speed, the noise level is okay at 53 dB, which is comparable to light rainfall.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review how much energy this air purifier will consume.

Like most plug-in air purifiers available now, the LG PuriCare AeroHit has no issue whatsoever running continuously throughout the day. Its power consumption is only 35 watts, which is fairly impressive for its performance, though it’s still behind the LG PuriCare 360.

If you use the LG PuriCare AeroHit for 8 hours each day, it would cost you just $15.34 per year.

LG PuriCare AeroHit Additional Features

While most of the heavy-lifting is performed by the HEPA filter, the first reason you should want to buy the LG PuriCare AeroHit is its smart features. Its Smart Sensor is no slouch, as it has PM 1.0 sensor, which is better than normal PM 2.5 sensor. Detecting particles down to one micron, the granularity presented in each reading isn’t astounding compared to lab-grade monitors, but being able to check air quality both on the unit’s LED and via the ThinQ app is a convenient perk that LG loves to stick in its purifiers.

Adding to this, LG’s ThinQ software continues to be among the more polished around. From color-coded air quality alerts to the simple app interface and smart notifications that flag when the filter needs replacing, everyday users will have an easy time here.
