LG’s oddly named air purifier is a reasonable if unexciting downgrade from the LG PuriCare AS560DWR0. Yes, LG needs a better way to name their PuriCare air purifiers, as I think it is as confused as any models from Sony brand (luckily Sony hasn’t made any air purifier, as far as I know).

LG PuriCare AS330DWR0, though not being half the number of the flagship (AS560), it is exactly half of its power, and well, nearly half the price. As the PuriCare 360° flagship is one of our best air purifiers, it is safe to think the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 will be well placed in the mid-range segment. Truth is, it’s not really… that’s great.

LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is available from $699, which I believe is a tall order even for any mid-range champions. $699 is the domain of AIRMEGA 400S, Rabbit Air MinusA2 and Medify MA-112. They all have good smart features, and run at a lot better fan power than the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0. Even if you need a sleek and small device, you can get the Molekule Air or Dyson HP04 for much better footprint than our today reviewed unit.

That’s why I found it’s quite difficult to get a deal for this air purifier. I mean it’s a lot more difficult than you jump on the LG PuriCare AS560DWR0 and check a good deal for it. Here is the most suitable deal you can buy LG PuriCare AS330DWR0.

LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 Design and Size

The LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is definitely for anyone who is the ‘inbetweeners’ – those who don’t want to go full-fat premium with their air purifier purchase but don’t want to be stuck with a maudlin mid-range device for the next two years.

It is what it is when I said it is half of everything from the LG PuriCare AS560DWR0. To be precise, it is exactly the half top of the flagship, yes, the half top. Let’s take a look at both devices and you will know what I mean. If you can split the PuriCare AS560DWR0 and take only the top, it is the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0.

And the half top is the most important, so the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 brings everything you have an eye on the flagship, being the high-quality materials that made the air purifier, the unique 360° air flow system concept, that can be tilted. Yes, the PuriCare technology allows the device to tilt the top grill up to 55°, and ensures more even distribution with 70° of rotation.

That’s why I said this LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is a good option to get if you love the LG flagship. It gives us more than what the lower LG PuriCare AS401VSA0 can offer, at the cost of a mid-range device.

Cutting in half, the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is 23.1 inches in height and it has a diameter of 13.5 inches. So it has a lot smaller footprint than the big flagship, and you can easily choose it for small home’s decoration. It is easily sleek and premium with its coating, as well as the perforated holes in air inlet grills.

On top, the control panel of LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 resembles the PuriCare AS560DWR0, and it is both informative and premium. This is one of the most favorite control panels I’ve ever used.

According to the previous section, we can safely conclude that the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 will have similar internal as its brother – the LG PuriCare AS560DWR0. So, that’s the 2-stage air cleaning system once again.

If you read our previous reviews of LG air purifiers, you will know that they win over competition not because of raw performance, but mostly because of its design and excellent control. The LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is also one device like this, with good but not the best performance in the price range. In the same test as the Oransi mod, Boneco P500 and Blueair Classic 480i, the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 had the lowest performance at 99.95% of capturing any particles down to 0.3 microns, in a space of 200 square feet for 1 hour. The overall result is still impressive, though.

One strange thing, even with smaller footprint, the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 can make use of the same AAFTDT301 air filter as the flagship LG PuriCare AS560DWR0. The air filter is quite expensive at $150, and you need to replace every 12 months.

The CADR of LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is 200 Dust/ 200 Smoke/ 220 Pollen (cfm). At this price range, the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is blown away by most other flagships, as it has similar fan power to just a $200 air purifier.

LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 Sound

However, low fan power bears little to no noise level. LG once named its quiet operation of air purifier as LoDecibel, and though the LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 doesn’t come with such gimmick, it is really quiet at only 25 decibels (db). That can be expected from the half top of the best LG PuriCare AS560DWR0.

On highest speed, the noise level of this LG PuriCare AS330DWR0 is a bit quieter than its big brother, coming at just 52 decibels. It is quite normal, and you will feel it just like any other fans in your home.
