Dyson has been proud to be the top British air purifier manufacturer since 1991, with creative and innovative in mind. The Dyson TP02 is the smart version of the successful Dyson Pure Cool Tower of first generation, making it a great buy for the mid-range sub-flagship fan. Okay, let’s get back to Dyson TP02 Review.
Dyson TP02 Price
While you’ll find bigger air purifiers elsewhere, in almost every other way the Dyson TP02 is a match for far pricier air purifiers. The device is no longer the flagship of the Dyson Pure Cool Tower series, and thanks to a drop in price, we can get it much easier.
If the high prices of today’s flagship air purifiers make your wallet tremble, alternatives like the Dyson TP02 and Dyson HP02 should have your attention. They are much cheaper than the fourth generation flagships of Dyson, named Dyson TP04 and Dyson HP04.
The best part? Dyson TP02 has every single smart feature to match the latest flagship, like Wi-Fi Enabled Connectivity feature, as well as its ability to be connected to Alexa. With the official price to be $499, and you can get a dropped price from our deal, you will enjoy the old Dyson flagship just like the pricier TP04 model.
It is still an air purifier in mid-range segment, competes directly against the Wi-Fi Smart devices like AIRMEGA 300S or Blueair Classic 405. You can also find the Inofia PM1608 at a bargain price, which is a suitable alternative to the giant Dyson TP02 at the moment.

Dyson TP02 Design and Size
If you jump here from the Dyson Pure Cool Tower review, you can skip the section altogether. The Dyson TP02 is the same as the old TP01, with distinctive bladeless design concept, 40 inches in height. The device is huge, staying even on par with the giant Blueair Pro XL.
Dyson only changes the color for the amplifier from iron gray to silver, but it is difficult to tell the difference. There is also one new blue option, just like the second-gen Dyson HP02, which you can get a deal from our website right below.
It also runs the same bottom-to-top air flow system concept, with its air intake is made with perforated holes, so it can improve the trapping efficiency against large objects of pollutants, like hair, large dust and fur. Moreover, we have a 360° air intake, so the Dyson TP02 can draw in more polluted air at one point.
This air purifier weighs 8.4 lbs, which is truly light for its size. However, you should be careful because it can easily be shoved accidentally by your children.

Dyson TP02 Filters
- True HEPA filter – With the glass HEPA filter, the Dyson TP02 is able to capture 99.97% all airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, bacteria and pet dander.
- Activated Carbon filter – Removes household odors, smoke and gases.
With the Evo air filter, Dyson TP02 is capable of removing allergens and pollutants down to 0.3 microns in size. Thanks to the high fan power, the Dyson TP02 can clean much better than any other air purifiers in the same price range, even with a lower-level air filter than the Dyson TP04.
Again, I used the same test for the Dyson HP02 to apply with our today Dyson TP02, in a room of 400 square feet. To compare the performance, I ran the test for the Vornado PCO575DC, Blueair Classic 405, Austin Air HealthMate and Medify MA-112, too. As you can see, the Dyson TP02 scored high efficiency of 99.9% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns. However, the performance was far below from the flagships of other brands, but of course the prices of these devices are much higher than our today unit.
Dyson TP02 uses the same air filter as the previous TP01 model, which costs you $69. You should replace the air filter every 12 months of use, with a cheaper price from our deal.

Dyson TP02 Room Coverage
Dyson TP02 is one of the biggest air purifiers in Dyson family, so it can deliver the strongest air flow, and cover a space of 500 square feet with ease.
Because this air purifier is also a fan, we don’t have the ACH and CADR ratings. Dyson told that high CADR rating doesn’t mean better, so they don’t quote any CADR score for their products. The maximum air flow of Dyson TP02 is up to 114 gallons per second at max setting, equal 920 cfm. The air flow from Dyson Pure Cool Tower can even compare with the $2400 beast Blueair Pro XL.

Dyson TP02 Sound
Dyson TP02 uses the same internal fan like the original Dyson Pure Cool Tower, so the noise level is just the same as 40 decibels (db), which is the noise level of library.
On highest speed, the noise level is a bit higher than any Dyson desktop models, and it can reach 62.2 decibels. To be honest, with such impressive air flow, you need to expect such noise at maximum power. However, such noise is only white noise, and sometimes it can help you sleep better.

Dyson TP02 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, an air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
The average power consumption of this Dyson TP02 is measured to be 56 watts, which is really low for an air purifier with such high fan power.
If you use the Dyson TP02 8 hours per day, you need to pay $20 each year.

Dyson TP02 Additional Features
The Dyson TP02 is basically a Dyson Pure Cool Tower, so beside the main air purifying function, it is a cooling fan. This air purifier has an oscillation setting to move the air back and forth, as well as 10 fan speed settings with uninterrupted stream of purified air flow (named Air Multiplier technology).
Dyson TP02 features basic settings like a Night-time Mode, to dim all the display and monitor the air purifier on lowest speed, therefore it won’t annoy you while sleeping. There is also a basic Timer setting to schedule the time off for the device.
The remote control is available, too, and it is magnetic and can be stick to the top of our today unit easily. It is quite simple and minimalism to use, with only one power button, one for changing fan speeds, one for oscillation setting and one to change the Timer.
But the Dyson TP02 has its own smart features to even match the latest flagship generation – the Dyson TP04. It can be controlled by your Dyson Link app or Alexa, thanks to the Wi-Fi Enabled Connectivity feature. Moreover, this air purifier has a Smart Sensor, so it can activate the Auto Mode and clean your room automatically, depending on the actual air quality index.
Dyson TP02 Customer Service
Dyson is one of the best brands for their impressive customer service. Once you are their customer, they promise to help you even after your warranty has ended, one thing that not many brands dare to give.
To reach their support, you can either search by yourself in the thorough online guides, or you can contact them easily with line: 866-693-9766. If you can’t call them (they don’t mark Sunday as opening time), you can email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Most importantly, you should be their customer to have the exclusive VIP loyalty programs. Once registered for the warranty, you can enjoy Saving events to help you save 20% for next purchase, as well as reminders for free preventative maintenance checks at a Dyson Service Center. Finally, you will have a VIP hotline, to reach a 24/7 support with the new line: 866-664-9004.
Like many big brands, Dyson provides Free Shipping policy for their products. You can return order with another free shipping, as long as you are in a 30-day money back guarantee. This could be one of the most generous offers for refund among any air purifier brands.
Dyson only has a 2-year warranty for both labor and parts of their air purifiers. I believe it is reasonable to trust in the devices of this company.
Dyson TP02 is the second-gen of the Dyson Pure Cool Tower series, with a huge improvement is smart features. It is a bit more expensive, but is still a budget flagship if compared to the Dyson TP04. However, as Dyson released the 9th generation of its air purifiers, I don’t recommend an air purifier that’s too old like the Dyson TP02. It also seems Dyson has removed the Dyson TP02 out of its product page.
Overall the Dyson TP02 is great, but it isn’t perfect because it still uses the old air filter.
