TruSens Z-1000 Design and Size

Speaking of the design, we can’t mistake the TruSens Z-1000 with any other air purifiers on the market, especially when most of the low-range budget devices are sharing the similar cylindrical tower design from Levoit LV-H132.

TruSens Z-1000 Filters

Of course, just like any air purifiers with UV-C light filter or ionizer inside, the TruSens Z-1000 is tested and certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for safety in ozone emission, to meet an ozone emission concentration limit of 0.05 parts per million (ppm). It is completely safe to use.

With the upgraded True HEPA filter, the TruSens Z-1000 is now a capable air purifier at the competition. It is still behind the best air purifiers for mold and mildew like the GermGuardian AC4825, InvisiClean Aura and Airthereal APH260, and we also recommend the Levoit Core 300 for better performance at lower price. Still, the TruSens Z-1000 is now seriously a decent option to get at around $100.

The TruSens Z-1000 runs a small HEPA drum filter inside (AFHZ1000-01), delivering what was expected from it which came as no surprise given the quality of the components that it houses. You need to replace the filter after 12 to 15 months of use. However, bear in mind that the new upgraded True HEPA filter costs double, at $49.

TruSens Z-1000 Room Coverage

TruSens Z-1000 is powerful enough to cover any small rooms, but the suggested room coverage of 450 square feet is well, a bit too large.

The ACH of TruSens Z-1000 is 2X to 4X. This air purifier can clean your room just 2 times per hour in a room of 230 square feet, and double the performance in 115 square feet area.

The CADR of TruSens Z-1000 is 84 Dust/ 56 Smoke/ 96 Pollen (cfm). For the price, the TruSens Z-1000’s fan power is a bit less than others in the market, but thanks to the advanced PureDirect technology, its performance is still good enough.

TruSens Z-1000 Sound

The fan power of TruSens Z-1000 may be not the highest, but it is perhaps the most noisy air purifier, especially on highest speed. Its noise level can reach as high as 65 decibels, and I believe you will want to turn it off while sleeping.

Even at the lowest setting, the TruSens Z-1000 runs at 39 decibels (db). Of course this is the noise level of library, which is quiet, but it is still higher than most air purifiers in the same price range.
