Other Hunter’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Price
This super-affordable Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 is indeed the tower air purifier you need to go for, if you feel the compact Hunter HP400 isn’t good enough. Surprisingly, it has some really good features.
Of course, an air purifier with a dated look like the Hunter HP600 doesn’t have the best hardware and it’s not very pretty, but considering the impressively low price, this budget offering packs a lot in.
The inexpensive Hunter HP600 costs you only $199 on official website. If you get our deal, you can further reduce the cost somewhere near $159, meaning a 20% OFF.
In the U.S, the Hunter HP600 is the main competitor with the GermGuardian and Envion devices. You can look for the Envion Therapure TPP630, Envion Four Seasons or GermGuardian AC5350B for a similar tower alternative. Or, if you prefer a console air purifier, you can research the Filtrete FAP-T03BA-G2, Bissell air220 or Vornado AC550.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Design and Size
When I got my first look at the Hunter HP600, I was cautiously intrigued: it’s an inexpensive air purifier with err, inexpensive design. In fact, the Hunter HP600 doesn’t look as premium as the compact Hunter HP400, which is the medium tower air purifier of this family.
From the front, this is a pretty generic-looking classic air purifier, to the point that I’ve thought of some old Honeywell AirGenius air purifiers, for several times.
The front panel is made with many line and dot grills, and Hunter HP600 makes an unusual front-to-back air flow system concept. This air purifier has air outlet on each side from the back. To me, this air flow direction is quite unconventional, as I prefer the direct purified air to the user.
Hunter HP600 isn’t really a tall tower air purifier, with the height of 25 inches. You want a taller and bigger device? Then the GermGuardian tower air purifiers are suitable for you at 28 inches. With smaller size, the Hunter HP600 is more lightweight with just 11 lbs.
This air purifier also features an unique top control panel, as you can see from the below picture. It remains simple, just like any other classic air purifiers.
The Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 comes with 3 different color options. Our testing unit is white, but you can get the black or graphite instead. For example, look at our below deal.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Filters
Just like any other Hunter air purifiers, the Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 relies on the 3-stage air cleaning system.
- EcoSilver Pre-filter – The Hunter’s exclusive pre-filter with silver nanoparticles to prevent the growth of microorganism pollutants like viruses, bacteria and mold. It also catches larger particles to protect other air filters.
- Activated Carbon Filter – This coconut carbon filter neutralizes harmful VOCs and household odors from cooking, cleaning, smoking and pets.
- True HEPA filter – Hunter HP600 has a True HEPA filter to remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns including smoke, dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, mold spores and dust mite debris.
But of course, any budget handset is a balancing act, and where there are exciting additions there will also be disappointing cuts. On the Hunter HP600, we have lower fan power, and as a result, lower performance. It can be shown clearly in the test of 150 square feet for 1 hour, where the Hunter HP600 had an efficiency of only 99.8% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns. Such result was lower than the Whirlpool WPT80, Sharp FP-K50UW or Filtrete FAP-T03BA-G2.
Still, there are plenty of reasons to consider the Hunter HP600. It has a good filter’s life time for the price, as you only need to change the HEPA filter after 6 to 12 months. Remember to look for the H-HF600 filter model.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Room Coverage
While you do get some features on the Hunter HP600 to rival the big names in tower air purifiers, the room coverage of this Hunter Digital Tall Tower is really small. The manufacturer only suggests to run this air purifier in room size of 202 square feet.
The ACH of Hunter HP600 is 5X. This air purifier has a powerful fan motor as to clean your room up to 5 times per hour.
The CADR of Hunter HP600 is 174 Dust/ 130 Smoke/ 144 Pollen (cfm). This CADR rating is still better than many tower air purifiers in the same price range, so if you’re really into this design, perhaps the Hunter HP600 isn’t bad.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Sound
The sound level is a plus for any air purifiers with such low fan power. In this Hunter HP600, the noise level on lowest speed is only 32 decibels (db), the same as the smaller Hunter HP400. This is basically the whisper’s noise level, and you won’t notice any sound from the device.
With more fan power, the Hunter HP600 can go as high as 54 decibels. It isn’t too noisy, as the sound level is the same as the normal conversation at home.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
The Hunter HP600 is an Energy Star air purifier, with power consumption of only 44 watts. That’s great, for most other tower air purifiers in this price range have the power consumption of at least 60 watts.
If you run the Hunter HP600 for 8 hours per day, the annual cost is just $16.

Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 Additional Features
The Accent Light feature is the flavor of the month, as the Hunter Digital Tall Tower HP600 can replace its smaller predecessor to be a great air purifier for bedroom. Also, I highly recommend to select the Sleep Mode if you need to run this air purifier while sleeping.
Hunter HP600 features the same basic Timer setting like other devices in Hunter family, to schedule the time off after 2, 4 or 8 hours. There is also one LED indicator for filter replacement, to remind you when to change the air filter.
Of course, the air purifier doesn’t have any smart features like the GermGuardian CDAP5500BCA or Elechomes KJ200-A3B. If you want to have more high-end features in your device, you should choose another brand.

This Hunter HP600 isn’t what you might call an all-rounder, but considering the very low price, it manages to offer more than you might expect.
The high points is its overall good performance and compact size for a tall tower air purifier. It also features many good features for a classic air purifier device, though the Smart Sensor or Wi-Fi fans should look elsewhere.
The Hunter HP600 has an average performance at a bargain-basement price.
