In the US you’ll pay $799 direct from Cuckoo’s own storefront, with the same model appearing at Amazon and Walmart for comparable pricing. The Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW is competing against the top dogs from South Korean air purifying industry, for example the Coway Airmega ProX or LG PuriCare AS560DWR0.

However, both LG and Coway have built brand recognition for such a long time. Even though Cuckoo is a famous electronics brand, the company is never the first in customers’ minds when buying an air purifier. Selling the Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW at this price range is indeed a risky move, especially when the market is not its homeland.

With both verification from AHAM and Energy Star, the Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW is a lot more reliable than other air purifiers you can find at this price range like the NuWave OxyPure Zero E2000 or Airdoctor AD4000. For some reasons I can’t explain, the Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW is very much alike some Winix models in the past. This look – a no-nonsense upright column – has been Cuckoo’s chosen form for its large room air purifier line, which is different from the console style using in mid-range options.

The Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW has a clean, matte-finish white shell, and it comes only in white. It’s a more ordinary shape too, as Cuckoo has opted for a straightforward cylindrical tower rather than anything architecturally unusual. As usual for Cuckoo’s larger models, the unit makes use of a structural housing that feels solid and substantial for its 15.4 lb frame.

This is a large purifier by any measure, and it feels its size thanks to its substantial 13.2 × 13.2-inch footprint and 25.6-inch tower height – this is a unit which is meant for the price point. There is a side-mounted panel with the two-button control interface rather than an in-screen display, and, just like similarly designed towers, it’s not the most tactile or feedback-rich control surface around.

Overall, it’s indeed the iconic South Korean air purifier with main white color option, simple control panel and lots of LEDs for the Smart Sensor.

The key question: does it hold up? The Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW is meant for large rooms, so it takes one of the most difficult tests made by Breathe Quality. The result, it captures 97.73% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. Not that good for a $799 air purifier.

The Cuckoo CAC-K1910FW is a decent, average flagship air purifier from the famous Cuckoo brand. It has some strengths in its great annual cost, featuring the Energy Star badge for being energy efficient. However, its performance isn’t the best you could get at this price, and it lacks certain smart features, which is very unlikely for an air purifier from South Korea.
