The Chinese manufacturer Midea wants to win you over by buying the native American Eureka brand in 2016, also with all of their signature products like the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120. Now with the endless funding for marketing and advertising from the electronics giant, the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 will be “instantly” popular. Let’s check our Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Review to learn about this budget air purifier.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.
- Impressive performance for the price
- Very low budget
- Energy Star rating & AHAM verified
- Quiet operation
- Low filter’s life time
- Quite noisy on highest speed
Eureka was an U.S brand, but just like Envion, the company has been acquired by a foreign company. With an eye for design, will the only Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 compete with a lot of cheap Chinese air purifiers and the like? Let’s find out in our Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Review.
Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Price
Want an AHAM verified air purifier at an actually affordable price? Then the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is your best option, as it is more affordable than even the GermGuardian AC4825. The best part, the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 looks even more premium.
And, judging by my experience with a lot of cheap air purifiers, this Eureka Instant Clear is easily the best.
You’ll pay around $79 to $109 for the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120. It’s quite difficult to get the correct official price of the device, because I can’t find it on the official Eureka website anymore. Perhaps, you should check our deal below to know the current price of this product.
This is the only air purifier of Eureka (as Midea has their own air purifier lineup). The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is an interesting air purifier to compete with the Bissell MyAir, RENPHO RP-AP068 and Levoit LV-H126. Also, if you search for any Chinese products, somehow you will get an even cheaper air purifier, like the Okaysou AirMic4S or Elechomes EPI081.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Design and Size
The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is easily one of the best-looking air purifiers you can get at the price. It comes with a premium black color, and though it is plastic built, the device gives us a feeling of metal/aluminum material.
In some ways this air purifier looks a lot different from any GermGuardian devices. They are not relatives, of course, and given the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is better looking at cheaper price, that’s quite a feat.
Perhaps the GermGuardian AC4825 and even GermGuardian AC4300 are much more relevant comparisons, though. However, this Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 looks better than both these air purifier in my opinion. Also, its size makes it seem a good fit for the budget and casual crowd.
Let’s talk a bit about the size. Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is 26 inches in height and only 10 inches in width. The tower air purifier isn’t quite like the Envion Therapure TPP620 for the size, and I think it’s good enough to direct the fresh air towards the users.
The back-to-front air flow system concept is considered as standard, but the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 also has air outlet on top, to maximize its high CADR fan power. Mine was pretty quick in handling airborne pollutants, but let’s talk about its performance later.
Top control panel of this air purifier is quite simple with only 3 buttons. For such an affordable product with high fan power, we shouldn’t demand more from it, right?
The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 weighs 15 lbs, so it isn’t compact as most other air purifiers in this price range. Luckily, we have a convenient handle to lift the device to anywhere we want.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Filters
- Pre-filter – Combining with the Activated Carbon filter, this layer of air filter can remove most of the large particles of pollutants and reduce odors created from smoke, cooking, and pets.
- True HEPA filter – Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 makes use of a True HEPA Filter to capture 99.97% of microscopic allergens, dust and mold spores down to 0.3 microns in size.
- UV-C Light – With an UV-C light bulb, the air purifier can kill airborne bacteria, viruses and mold spores.
Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 doesn’t have anything new for the air filtration system, but its reliable combination of True HEPA filter, carbon filter and UV-C light bulb is enough to deal with all kinds of airborne pollutants.
Eureka also states that their UV-C bulb can provide 5 times more life cycles than traditional bulbs. Whether it’s true or not, I will check the review and tell you later. But one thing I can guarantee for you, the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), so it’s completely safe to use.
Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 has a very good performance, as it can be better even than the more expensive air purifiers, like the GermGuardian AC4900CA or Envion Four Seasons FS200 in this case. It captured 99.7% of any airborne particles down to 0.3 microns in a room of 150 square feet, for only 1 hour in our test. Such result is impressive, and it’s only behind the Levoit Core 300, which is a bit more expensive.
It’s also easy to replace the filter for this Eureka Instant Clear NEA120. You should check for the NEA-F1 for filter, and the manufacturer suggests to change the filter every 12 months. However, I find a lot of reviews complaining that they need to change the filter in only 1 month. I will test the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 for longer, and update this article later.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Room Coverage
Commonly, the air purifiers in this price range can have a CADR rating of only 100 cfm, but the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 will make it better, to the point it can clean a room of 220 square feet. This suggestion is verified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), and so you can trust the performance of this air purifeir totally.
The ACH of Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is 4X. No doubt the air purifier can exchange the air in your room every 15 minutes.
The CADR of Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is 145 Dust/ 143 Smoke/ 228 Pollen (cfm). Such performance is incredible, and the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 can match any air purifier in $150-ish, like Airthereal APH260 or Hunter HP600.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Sound
High fan power is favorable in air purifier domain, especially when the HEPA filter is generally the same quality for low-range segment. The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 makes use of a big fan, and it can’t be as quiet as other compact air purifiers. On highest speed, the noise level could be 55 decibels.
However, the Quiet Mode of this Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is pretty good, as it keeps the sound level around 32 decibels (db). This is just like the whisper, and you won’t notice it.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
It’s rare to find an Energy Star air purifier for less than $100, and the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is successfully certified as one. It uses only 14 watts on lowest speed and 51 watts on highest speed, with an addition of 3 watts for the UV bulb.
So, if you want to use the Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 for 8 hours per day, don’t worry because you only need to pay $5 to $19 each year.

Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Additional Features
The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is a good air purifier, but it will be too good to be true if it has many fancy additional features. Well, it doesn’t have such things, and you just have a simple and ease-of-use air purifier. The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 just has one LED indicator for filter replacement.
If you want more features to use on air purifier, perhaps you should look for the Hunter HP400 or Filtrete FAP-C02WA-G2. They don’t have the Smart Sensor, however, but honestly the cheap air sensor isn’t too accurate.
Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 Customer Service

The Eureka Instant Clear NEA120 is one of the most expensive-looking air purifiers you will find for less than $100. And because it’s certified by the AHAM for high fan power and Energy Star for efficient performance, it’s a great buy.
Of course, it doesn’t have any additional features to keep the price low. But hey, what could you expect for around $79?
