Elechomes P1801 Price

It’s been 2 years since I found the Elechomes UC3101, which I found the most interesting and distinctive air purifier of the whole Elechomes squad. Other air purifiers are sold elsewhere in the brand name of Healthlead, and I really don’t impress with the Elechomes EPI081 or Elechomes EPI236. Finally, Elechomes releases such a good air purifier as the first UC3101, though it’s a lot cheaper in the price.

The Elechomes P1801 is a simple air purifier with the amazing idea of 4-in-1 air filtration system from the first UC3101, and it dropped the price to only $89 officially. At first glance, the compact size, clean interface and great features on a budget will appeal to those looking for an affordable, reasonably sized air purifier with enough grunt to handle the basics, plus the ability to run automatically.

Maybe, the Elechomes P1801 gives you the best of Elechomes in an affordable, portable package. Something that you once loved from the UC3101.

This air purifier, however, doesn’t have the power to compete with the best Levoit Core 300 or Medify MA-15. Compare to the newer compact Levoit LV-H128 or older Airthereal ADH80, it’s more expensive. But the Elechomes P1801 looks different, and the device gathers more additional features to stay the best deal. If you plan to use your air purifier a lot in a small space, then the Elechomes P1801 could easily be one of the best options.

Elechomes P1801 Design and Size

Elechomes clearly wants to mark their presence in the budget segment of air purifier market, which is dominant mostly by Levoit. The upper-level segment is also difficult for the Elechomes UC3101, and it seems the iconic air purifier will be unavailable for long.

That’s why the company focuses mainly on budget, portable products like the Elechomes EPI081 and Elechomes EPI236, which again is the key of design for the new release Elechomes P1801. After all, “P” means “portable”, right?

Cute. That’s the one-word answer to ‘describe the Elechomes P1801 design’. Something resembles the iconic design, and you can’t find a second device like this on market.

It’s really compact, measuring 11.5 x 11.4 x 6.9 inches. So, it’s smaller than the EPI236 at the same price, and the Elechomes P1801 boast a bigger air filter.

The result is an air purifier which is extremely easy to handle, and you can put it anywhere in your home without worry. Though a common rule for using air purifier that you can’t place it against wall or other furniture to not block the air flow. The Elechomes P1801 has double air inlets, fulfilling the bottom-to-top air flow system concept.

It’s light too, tipping the scales at just 8.78 lbs. You can grab it and bring the air purifier anywhere in your home.

Elechomes P1801 Filters

The Elechomes P1801 returns four levels of air cleaning from the first Elechomes UC3101, but remains 100% ozone-free with only mechanical air filters. Here is what we have in the 4-stage air cleaning system of this Elechomes P1801.

1. Pre-filter – To remove the largest particles such as pet hair, fur and large dust.
2. Anti-bacterial filter – Targets most bacteria and viruses.
3. True HEPA filter – Removes 99.97% of airborne pollutants down to 0.3 microns, such as pet dander, pollen, smoke and more.
4. Activated Carbon filter – Adsorbs odors, smoke, and gases.

These 4 stages are combining in only all-in-one air filter, and Elechomes suggests to change the air filter every 2000 hours (or 4 months). For the performance, the Elechomes P1801 is a lot better than the previous Elechomes EPI081, stopping 99.9% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in just 1 hour (test in 100 square feet). Such performance is better than both the Mooka Allo and Vornado CYLO50, which are in the same price range. But if you value the pure performance, perhaps the VEVA ProHEPA 9000 is your best bet.

At the moment, it’s sad that I can’t find the filter replacement of this Elechomes P1801. I will update the article as soon as possible if I find one for you guys.

Elechomes P1801 Room Coverage

The room coverage of this Elechomes P1801 is 270 square feet, suggested by the manufacturer. In fact, I believe it should be used for any rooms smaller than 150 square feet.

The ACH of Elechomes P1801 is up to 4X. If you use the air purifier in the suggested room size by Elechomes, the air purifier will clean your room only once per hour.

The CADR of Elechomes P1801 is 76.5 cfm in general. Such fan power is negligible in the price range, and the best products you should look for is either the Levoit Core 300 or Airthereal APH260.

Elechomes P1801 Sound

It’s also worth noting that an air purifier with low fan power like the Elechomes P1801 tends to be quieter as well as less energy-consumed. You can easily use the air purifier in bedroom without any interruption for your sleep. At 22 decibels (db), the Night Mode of Elechomes P1801 won’t generate any sound.

Elechomes P1801 Power Consumption

One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.

The Elechomes P1801 is more energy-saving than the Elechomes EPI236 at the same price, as it asked only 40 watts for power consumption.

Elechomes P1801 Additional Features

The Elechomes P1801 is worth to be mentioned as one of the few many air purifiers with Smart Sensor in $100 range, together with its sibling Elechomes EPI236. Though the actual air sensor is quite inferior to higher-end models, it is nice to have an Auto Mode. However, I recommend to use the manual mode for better air cleaning, as the Smart Sensor of Elechomes P1801 works quite inaccurately.

The indicator light for Smart Sensor is visible in both air inlets, making the air purifier more attractive to use 24/7. Perhaps the Elechomes P1801 is in the minority when it comes to putting indicator light on air grills, but hey it’s cool, right?

Other additional features like Timer and Child lock are available, which are more than acceptable for a budget air purifier. With the Child lock feature, you can lock the setting for any unwanted changes. This is the best way to prevent your kids or pets to accidentally stop the air purifier.

Finally, Elechomes P1801 has a LED indicator for filter replacement, to remind you when to change the filter.

If you’re thinking about getting the Elechomes P1801, you’ll need to carefully consider what’s important to you when it comes to a new air purifier. If you’re looking for maximum bang for your buck, and features galore, the Elechomes P1801 is unlikely to whet your appetite.

The design of this air purifier is good and cute, but this air purifier is still the device for small space use. You can’t run it on larger spaces.

Smart Sensor is mediocre, with the Auto Mode sometimes be far more inaccurate to be acceptable. But for a budget device, what could we possibly expect.
