Update: Dyson revamped the Hot+Cool line with the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool (HP1 not HP01) and the newer Dyson Purifier HP2.

Time for the Dyson HP07 review.
Other Dyson’s Air Purifier Reviews:
Dyson HP07 Price
The Dyson HP07 is considered an old unit in 2026, and it is random to buy this unit on Amazon or other online vendors. Still, at the time of writing, when you buy the Dyson HP07 from Breathe Quality’s deal, you benefit from the full 2-year warranty of Dyson, as well as add extra protection plan for your expensive unit.
From the previous Dyson HP04, you can be sure the Dyson HP07 starts at $699, $40 higher than the previous version. The next Dyson HP09 will have a higher base price, but then we have a cheaper Dyson HP10.
We don’t recommend the old units from Dyson, because first Dyson is a super innovative air purifier brand and your Dyson HP07 may be opted out of their latest smartphone application, and second the newer ones always have better pricing for new features. In that way, I believe you should stick with the latest Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP2, or at least try the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1.
Dyson is still one-of-a-kind, and if you only want a pure air purifier, there are plethora of good options out there. The Blueair Classic Pro is what we always buy for our home, but don’t forget top-tier air purifiers with better air purifying performance than the Dyson HP07, like the Rabbit Air A3, AeraMax SV or Austin Air HealthMate Plus.
Dyson Pure Hot+Cool air purifier, heater + fan – HEPA air filter, Wi-Fi-enabled – HP07.
Three perfect functions in only one device, with the most progressive sensor technologies to give you the accurate indoor air quality. Upgraded filter over previous models.

Dyson HP07 Design and Size
People who love Dyson unit will tell the Dyson HP07 apart any different air purifiers from afar, as the Dyson HP07 resembles the first Dyson Pure Hot+Cool in a lot of ways. We recommend you read the previous reviews for a quick design summary.
To help Breathe Quality’s readers tell each Dyson units apart, we make a simple comparison table as below:
| Name | HP01 | HP04 | HP07 | HP09 | HP10 | HP1 | HP2 |
| Year | 2016 (first gen) | 2018 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2025 | 2025 |
| Weight | 8.6 lbs | 12.3 lbs | 12.3 lbs | 11.6 lbs | 11.6 lbs | 11 lbs | 11 lbs |
| Oscillation | 70° | 350° | 350° | 350° | 350° | 350° | 350° |
| Filter | HEPA filter, no Carbon | Glass HEPA + Carbon | Combi HEPA + Carbon | Combi HEPA + Carbon + SCO | Combi HEPA + Carbon | Combi HEPA + Carbon | Combi HEPA + K-Carbon + SCO |
As you can see, the Dyson HP07 is just the Dyson HP04 with newer HEPA filter, it is a minor refinement. Specs-wise, the Dyson HP07 remains 30 inches in height – a real tower air purifier. It shares the same weight at 12.35 lbs.

Dyson HP07 Filters
The Dyson HP07 uses the newer Combi HEPA filter, which is basically the same 2-stage air cleaning system as usual.
- True HEPA filter – With the glass HEPA filter, the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool is able to capture 99.97% all airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, bacteria and pet dander.
- Activated Carbon filter – Removes household odors and gases such as formaldehyde, benzene and nitrogen dioxide.
After the first Dyson Pure Hot+Cool, all Dyson air purifiers improves the Activated carbon filter with tris-impregnated carbon, and target its air purifiers mainly for dealing with chemicals like formaldehyde, benzene and nitrogen dioxide.
The glass HEPA filter is graded H13, so it is the most widely-known HEPA filter at the moment. It is highly effective at trapping all particles down to 0.3 microns.
In the same test (which is subpar for a $700 air purifier) of 200 square feet, all Dyson units (including the Dyson HP07) fails to match the Levoit EverestAir. We know Dyson is using a different method (POLAR) to test its air purifiers’ performance, but honestly, the results are bad for such an expensive air purifier.

The newer Dyson air filter can last 1 year, and at this price range, the annual filter cost is quite easy to accept. It is only $79, working with all Dyson models, except for Dyson HP2 and Dyson PC2.

Dyson HP07 Room Coverage
Dyson is never a strong air purifier and the company only suggest to use the Dyson HP07 in a room of 290 square feet. However, we recommend to use it in an even smaller room, up to 126 square feet as recorded by Energy Star.
The ACH of Dyson HP07 is 4X. However, if you are running the air purifier in 290 square feet, expect it to clean much less.
The CADR of Dyson HP07 is 51 cfm in general. It is far too low for an air purifier in this price range.

Dyson HP07 Sound
As a fan itself, the Dyson HP07 is very silent at low speed, but can go as high as 62 decibels on its maximum settings. So far, the average noise level of the Dyson HP07 is higher than the Dyson HP04, and we find it strange, because these air purifiers are quite similar to each other.
However, if you plan to use the Dyson HP07 in your office, the noise level blends quite well. 62 decibels feels like normal office, after all.

Dyson HP07 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, an air purifier must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criteria to review if this air purifier is good or not.
In cooling mode, the Dyson HP07 has a power consumption of 40 watts, a bit lower than its predecessors. If you use its heating mode, the power consumption rises up to 1500 watts – normal for a residential heater.
If you only use the Dyson HP07 for air purifying purpose, and run it 8 hours per day, you only need to pay $16 each year.

Dyson HP07 Additional Features
Here is a table to compare all Dyson Pure Hot+Cool models:
| Name | HP01 | HP04 | HP07 | HP09 | HP10 | HP1 | HP2 |
| Formaldehyde sensor | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ | ✅ | ✗ | ✗ | ✅ |
| CO₂ sensor | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ | ✅ | ✗ | ✗ | ✅ |
| Gas sensor | ✗ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✗ | ✅ | ✅ |

| Wi-Fi + App | ✗ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✗ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Voice control | ✗ | Alexa, Google | Alexa, Google, Siri | Alexa, Google, Siri | ✗ | Alexa, Google, Siri | Alexa, Google, Siri |
As you can see, the Dyson HP07 is basically the Dyson HP04 with better Voice control from Apple users. Anything similar like the 350° oscillation, full sets of sensors and control via both remote control and Wi-Fi app named MyDyson, I won’t list again.
We still have Night Mode, Timer and a LED indicator for filter replacement in this Dyson HP07.

Like many big brands, Dyson provides free shipping for its products. You can return an order with free shipping as long as you are within the 30-day money-back guarantee. This could be one of the most generous offers for refunds among any air purifier brands.
Dyson only has a 2-year warranty for both labor and parts on its air purifiers. For such expensive air purifiers, the warranty is a bit short.

Our verdict
The Dyson HP07 isn’t the current Dyson air purifier, and you should look for the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 instead.
