If you don’t like the fancy things, you can settle down on the Airfree Onix 3000 for a cheaper price tag.

This is a solid-enough air purifier, and with the exclusive patented thermodynamic TSS technology, the Airfree Onix 3000 actually stands out of the crowd. But against such strong competition and efficiency of the HEPA filter, what advantages it has seem slight.

First, it can’t capture the actual particulate matters. There are a lot of negative reviews of thinking this device isn’t working. It is also a negligible upgrade from the popular Airfree P1000, and to be honest, the cheaper Airfree Tulip and Airfree BabyAir with the multi-color nightlight function are more worthy to be in your bedroom.

The price of this Airfree Onix 3000 is about $299, as can be found in some retailers. With $30 more, the Airfree Iris 3000 seems affordable, and in my opinion, we should buy the device with multi-color nightlight function. It is more beautiful, of course, and it makes our home beautiful, too.

However, when the Dyson Pure Cool Tower is cheaper and it offers a more realistic feature, and the Levoit LV-H133 or Medify MA-40 a more striking design, the Airfree Onix 3000 seems a little bland. But if you want a perfect silent air purifier, or you want to try a little difference from the common filtration technology, then the Airfree Onix 3000 is still a good option for you.

With more than 200 reviews on Amazon rated nearly 4/5, I bet the design of Airfree Onix 3000 is still great enough. So the design is applied for the Airfree P1000 and Airfree P2000, but in this new onix black color at least, the air purifier looks particularly refined. It does feel remotely high-end, too.

This Airfree Onix 3000 is the entry-level of the mid-range flagships from the Portuguese company, so it shouldn’t give the feeling of a cheap one. In fact, the finish is fancy that tricks the eyes, and it looks like a chunky bullet with rounded head.

The size of Airfree Onix 3000 remains the same since the first P1000 model, with 10.4 inches in height and 8.4 inches in width. You will have an air purifier of only 3.3 lbs, and it’s really lightweight to use.

One of the key appeals here, is the top lid of this air purifier. Making use of the bottom-to-top air flow system concept, Airfree Onix 3000 has a blue light on top to cover the air outlet. It can work both as an air purifier and an interesting nightlight.

Airfree Onix 3000 Filters

The Airfree Onix 3000 is the flagship of one special air purifier brand, which makes use of an exclusive patented thermodynamic technology, as described as below.

1. Exclusive Patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology – This technology has been independently tested in real-world conditions by ISO 17025 laboratories. The Airfree Onix 3000 destroys the microorganisms and allergens by heating it to over 400°F (200°C) and instantly sterilizing it.

The process of eliminating microorganisms is similar to boiling the water, Airfree Onix 3000 will continually draw in the air to proceed the heating, to the point that no common germs or viruses could be alive. Then it will cool the air and release to the room. The heating process occurs only inside the device, thus makes the air purifier warm, not hot.

Again, I will repeat telling you to think of this technology as a process of destroying the organic matters, not trapping them. Basically, the Airfree Onix 3000 is not a regular air purifier. It doesn’t use the fan as a mean to pull in the air, while the CADR rating indicates volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner, which is not designed for Airfree air purifiers. Also, the device needs to run gradually for uninterrupted cycle of air, so there is no ACH rating, either.

Actually, we have some CADR rating specs online for the Airfree Onix 3000, which appears to be 325 Dust/ 315 Smoke/ 401 Pollen (cfm). However, I must underline that all AHAM ratings are not applied for the Airfree air purifiers, which don’t have fan power.

Airfree Onix 3000 Sound

Without any fan power, the Airfree Onix 3000 is completely silent. You won’t notice or hear any sound from this air purifier. In fact, you don’t even know if the air purifier is working or not. Airfree suggests to check the top lid and see if it’s warm, the air purifier is working perfectly.

Some people can’t just sleep with even the slightest noise, so the Airfree Onix 3000 is a great solution to both purify your indoor air, and save you from loud noise.

Airfree Onix 3000 Power Consumption

Well, the most powerful Airfree air purifier is out, with a special onix black color. Airfree Onix 3000 can almost double the room coverage of the first Airfree P1000 model, and it still sports the exclusive patented thermodynamic TSS technology.
